I've blasting out Jamie T's "Panic Prevention" - it's brilliant!

amazon.co.uk wrote:
"Equal parts Joe Strummer and Dizzee Rascal, Jamie narrates witty, filthy, sometimes tragic tales of London life peppered with patois and accompanied by cheap drum-machine beats and the twang of an acoustic bass guitar."
amazon.co.uk also wrote:
"One of the latest London MC/producers to follow in the formidable footsteps of The Streets, Jamie T mixes up an earnest slack-rap style with influences that range from reggae-inspired post punk bands like The Clash to drum & bass, electronica, hip hop and even a splash of Tom Waits-roguery."

I've had it on repeat for four days now :)

StoneSour, and the Beatles.

Hight now it's Finntroll's Visor om Slutet. Finntroll is a Swedish metal band with an overbearing amount of folk influences, and the resulting mix is pretty interesting. The album is...hmm, how to describe it...it's mostly acoustic, and would make great gaming music, actually...

Right now, Midnight Oil - mix of songs from the CDs I own (basically all from Diesel and Dust to Capricornia).

Greg

Brand New - The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me
The Prize Fighter Inferno - My Brother's Blood Machine
Coheed And Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade

The sounds of a fan sucking the hot air out of the room so my servers don't get too hot.

Deloused at the Comatorium - The Mars Volta

Finnish actually, though for some obscure reason they sing in Swedish...but they are pretty fun band though.

The ipods on 'shuffle all' so I get some suprises both good and bad.

With nearly 5000 songs and me liking a very diverse range of music it gets kind of random.

Last songs were (I think) something by Alpine Allstars then a tune by Kodo (japanese drumming) into Zombie Nation by Kern Kraft then 'Darts' by System of a Down and now its playing something haunting that could be a dark Aphex Twin remix of Nine Inch Nails.

Keeping my fingers crossed for something a little more chilled to go with my headache. The ipods in the other room and I cant be bothered to go press skip.

Come on Nirvana unplugged! Or possibly even Future Sound of London...

Yes! The Killers! I got soul but I'm not a soldier!

Jonny Cash! YAY! :)

And now 'Instruments of Destruction' from the Transformers movie soundrack is playing! :D Geek out!

After hours of trance and low fi techno the Queens of the Stone Age burst into the room (weirdly at a volume higher than any other song on my ipod for some unknown reason) and blow my ears off! :O

"Big Exit" by PJ Harvey. If you have never listened to her, you should immediately. She is like no other.

She is a BIG fave of mine 'This is Love' is one of the best songs ever written/played. And you Sir Magnus are a true Mastermind!

:)

I'm at work and I can faintly hear some advertisement on the radio through the speakers overhead....

...yeah.

I'm currently listening to Fatespinner breathe. I'm typing just behind him at work... watching him. BTW, that was no radio advert you heard, that was the voice in my head.

At the moment? My bottom breaking wind...

Eisbrecher.....angry German techno-metal......

'Colony of Birchmen' by Mastodon, 'Papercut' by Linkin Park, 'Irresponsible Hate Anthem' by Marilyn Manson, and 'Run, Gunner Recall, Run! The Town Wants You Dead!' by The Prize Fighter Inferno

The Autumn Effect, by 10 Years.

At this very moment, Purple Rain by Prince is playing on radio.

All is good. (Prince really got it right that time.)

Loreena McKennitt "Marco Polo"
Its actually one song on a mix cd I've dubbed "Tavern Tunes" I'm still building. Its mainly Nickel Creek and Loreena McKennitt, with one song by the Ditty Bops and two solo songs: one by Sean Watkins and the other by Chris Thile, both from Nickel Creek.

John Lee Hooker, I like blues.

I am totally immersed in Black Sabbath - Symptom of the Universe

Chemical City, by Sam Roberts. Currently just finishing track 6: Mystified, Heavy and moving on to track 7: An American Draft Dodger in Thunder Bay (one of the highlights of the album)

"Going where I can't be found
And I won't be coming 'round
No, I'm an American on the Canadian Shield
And I'm putting down roots in your frozen fields
It gets cold but you feel so good to be a stranger in town
And you're understood"

The Spooky Kids - Lunchboxes and Choklit Cows
Peter Mulvey - Glencree
Dropkick Murphys - The Warriors' Code

Oh, and Marilyn Manson - Portrait of an American Family

I ain't a workin' man
But I do the best I can
I got the Devil's hand rollin' sixes
I am the habit man
I use up all I can
I got the Devil's hand...

Right now I'm stuck in Greensboro, NC, browings the Paizo boards and listening to Enigma on the tinny speakers of my battered old laptop.

Greensboro is actually a very nice place, but I'm here because of work, not fun.

Enigma's new album, "A Posteriori" is actually quite good.

Andrew Bird's latest, Armchair Apocrypha. Pretty damn fine.

Man, I used to totally love Shark Island. Gonna go get my Bill N Ted soundtrack.

You know that two,TWO! heads,HEADS! are better than one!
It's double the pleasure baby, and triple the fun.

All my life I wanted to fly,
like the birds that you see way up in the sky

With the help of fa-ther time...

Do! You! Want! To! Play!

In time...

In addition to some of Contraband, I just listened to my entire Shark Island CD collection last night: all of Law of the Order, plus "Father Time" and "Dangerous" from the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack), and "My City" from the Point Break soundtrack.

So, why the sudden re-interest in an old (albeit, good) band, you may ask?

The Answer: I'm preparing for the arrival of Gathering of the Faithful, their new CD, which I ordered earlier this week (from their WEBSITE, cheaper by a little bit).

'Le Disko' by Shiny Toy Guns

'Blue' by A Perfect Circle
'(You Can't Kill) The Metal' by Tenacious D
'Dark Chest of Wonders' by Nightwish
'Cassie' by Flyleaf
'Tied My Hands' by Saron Gas
'Eyes Sewn Shut' by The Agony Scene
'Passage to Bangkok' by Rush
and 'Circle Pit' by Refused:

We pride ourselves on the integrity of our herds,
But words are just words are just words...
Well the brand you wear is the same as mine.
How can we be out of step
IF WE'RE STILL IN LINE?

One More Round. One More Round.
We wouldn't wanna tread new ground!
One More Round.

Another circle drawn for another carbon copy,
As we limit ourselves to the flag of our flock.
Circle Pit Mentality. Individ-removal.
Cut to fit for music herd approval!
A shepherd vacancy, but don't look to us.
All the phony Beatle mania has bitten the dust.

Circle complete in the imitation zone...
FIND A NEW KING FOR YOUR THRONE!
FIND A NEW KING FOR YOUR THRONE!
One More Round. One More Round.
WOULDN'T WANT TO TREAD NEW GROUND!
ONE MORE ROUND!

Metallica, Ride the Lightning

The din of silence in my house. With two kids in the house, the silence is appreciated. If I were playing something right now, it would be some sort of celtic instrumental, or celtic harp music 'cause its what I like when I'm winding down.

There's a band in my town named Silent Sound. I recently discovered that they named themselves after the psionic power with the same name. Wierd.

Anyway, I have been listening to:

- 'My Cat Is On Fire' by GWAR
- 'Misery Machine' by Marilyn Manson
- 'Repressed' by Apocalyptica, featuring Matt Tuck
- 'Welcome to Bangkok' by Brand New
- 'Beelzeboss: the Final Battle (F~!%, I'm Goin' To Hell!)' by Tenacious D

Set my Ipod to shuffle all the Boston songs on there (Boston, Don't Look Back, Third Stage, Walk On, Corporate America and Greatest Hits). Been listening to them all week in memory of Brad Delp. The music world lost a giant when he passed on...

Current Song: A Man I'll Never Be

I'm on a time machine back to my troubled youth with The Smashing Pumpkins' Greatest Hits. I have just about all of their other albums, but I just put this one on the ipod for some reason. And I got suckered into buying the two disc set because of the b-sides, only to realize that there was a good reason most of them were b-sides. Yep.
