$murfs aren't even worth the gold that can made from them.

Your statement is flawed
Gold has no relevance to the collective
Having the most annoying drones every created is a tactical advantage

"Nature decays, but [gold pressed] latinum lasts forever."
-Rule of Acquisition 102

latinum is Irrelevant
The collective is beyond such small minded needs

"I met Grace Lee Whitney at a comics convention years ago. She is a smart and funny woman. At the time she said the primary reason she left the series was the sexual assault by an executive associated with the series. According to her, when the assault came to light Gene Roddenberry was told he could either replace Ms. Whitney or lose the show. Her main defender at the time was Nimoy. Roddenberry later admitted he regretted letting her go because he felt her character would have had an interesting insight on Captain Kirk."-io9 forum quote

Pretty horrid to think that is why she left Startrek...

Saw Star Trek over the weekend. Wow. Just wow. The difference is like between the original Battlestar Galactica (which I have fond memories) and the latest one (which I have yet to fully watch but looks intriguing).

Finally saw it on DVD. Being a huge fan of the orginal series I expected to be disappointed. I tend to not like any remakes. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the acting and direction the movie went. This is a good kick off for a new series of movies.

Got the sweet delicious Blu Ray version. Many good extras, happy to see the respect all the new actors had towards the series' legacy.

Did you see the cameo by R2D2?

My wife always said that Star Trek and Star Wars were the same. I guess she was right.
