The latest animated flick offered up by DC, I picked this up today. It's got a great story, decent animation, and some great voice talents, including: Gina Torres, Mark Harmon, Chris Noth, James Woods, Bruce Davison, and William Baldwin.

The special features are great as well:

- An animated short about The Spectre. Kind of creepy, and probably not for children who are too young.

- 4 Episodes of the Justic League animated series

- The pilot for the old Wonder Woman TV series with Lynda Carter

- The unaired pilot they shot a fewe years ago for the Aquaman TV series.

- A behind the scenes look at the next animated movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood.

- Various and sundry other items.

I highly recommend this for any comic book (and DC) fans.

Just for the record these bonus features are only available on the Blu-Ray version.

Some decent special effects, plus it had two decent actors in Ving Rhames and Lou Diamond Philips. Otherwise, it sucked Otyugh ass.

Shadow Lodge (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path Subscriber)

And added to the Netflix queue

I liked it. It was good. It wasnt Justice Leage: New Frontier or Wonder Woman by any stretch....But it was at least better than the awful Green Lantern: First Flight. Id say its about on par with Public Enemies.

The Alternate Earth evil Justice League (the Crime Syndacate) were cool. Owlman especially.

The quick appearance of alternate Jimmy Olsen and Harley both had me laughing outloud. :)

Talk about different strokes for different folks. My opinion switches Green Lantern: First Flight and Public Enemies.

Most of the people I know consider New Frontier, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern to be the best of the direct to DVD releases so far. The whole Doomsday bit and the 6 mini-episode Batman are considered the worst. Doomsday for the wacky treatment of source material, and the Batman one for having no real developed story behind it, as everything was too short to tell much of anything.

Just watched it. Very cool. Was owlman and the evil wonderwoman a spoof on the Watchen's chick and owl?

(Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Companion Subscriber)

No. The whole "evil justice league" predates the Watchmen as far as I know, which establishes the characters before Watchmen was ever an idea. The Crime Syndicate first appears in 1963. Owlman's costume in the DVD is an almost exact copy of what he was wearing in the 2000 graphic novel JLA: Earth 2, by Morrison and Quitely, well before the Watchmen's Owlman got his costume redesign for the film. Superwoman's costume isn't a direct import, but one piece bathing suit paired with thigh high boots and shoulder length gloves isn't exactly an original costume for a woman to wear in a comic book.

I removed a link to a piracy site. Please don't do that.
