If you ever enjoyed any fine 70's cinema, you owe it to yourself to watch this film.

It works on so many different levels. Seriously, it's actors playing bad actors playing characters in a cheaper than cheap grindhouse flick, complete with the lead actor being a stunt casted NFL running back(the actor the lead actor plays, that is, not the lead actor himself; confused yet?). And for all the laughs it's clearly a love letter to the blaxploitation films of yesteryear. It's all ridiculous, but it's also mostly authentic. It simultaneously mocks and celebrates all the things that made us enjoy these movies to begin with.

Of course some of that may get a bit muddled as the film gets progressively more bat@#$% insane as it goes on, but hey, that final battle was worth the price of admission alone.

"Your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrifications is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery."

"The worst thing about these dealers getting children addicted to this new smack, is that these children are ORPHANS…. And orphans don’t have parents. "

Now if only someone would do this for Hammer horror movies.(and do it well)

First Lady, I'm sorry I pimp slapped you into that china cabinet.

This movie has so many great lines. It really was pretty damn funny and a lot of fun for anybody who grew up watching movies like Superfly and Dolemite.

Seriously this movie had a ton of great lines.

Black Dynamite: I'm declaring war on anyone who sells drugs to the community.
Chocolate Giddy-Up: But Black Dynamite! *I* sell drugs to the community!

haha best lines ever

''What the...!

I told you urine sample, Nurse Jenny!

Black Dynamite,

I mean, really!''

''Hey man, you sent her in here with them titties, what you expect?''

This made me die laughing when I watched the preview.

I really liked Pootie Tang, will I like this also?

Probably. I think Black Dynamite does a better job as an homage to blaxploitation. It's also a much better produced film.

Chocolate Giddy-Up was definitely my favorite of the pimps, although that's largely because BIG BAD BULLHORN'S pimp status was never actually confirmed IIRC.

I haven't seen Pootie Tang, but from what little I know about it Black Dynamite plays itself a bit more straight. To a point...

"We heard about your brother's death and we don't want you running around turning the streets into rivers of blood."

"Then tell me who did it and I'll just leave a puddle."

---

"This is private! How'd you get in here?!"

*glances at the director in brief confusion* "...I walked in."

Spoiler:
*after disarming The Fiendish Doctor Wu*

"Ha! I threw that @#$% before I walked in the room!"

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Gloria was played by Elisa from Gargoyles... Small world.

edit-BULLHORN must be written in all-caps.
