It's weird that it says it's coming out on May 13th, because a friend of mine bought it at the beginning of April. I flipped through it and secured a promise to let me borrow it as soon as she finishes it.

I may not last. I may just have to buy it straight away.

Finally! I asked about this in the reading thread and got nothing.
Unless I get some firm dissuasion, this book is definitely in my future.

Just a word of warning from someone who has read the book:

It is funny, but only if you already know Pride and Prejudice well. I had read P&P a long time ago, picked up P&P&Z and started into it but wasn't entertained at all. I stopped about ten pages in an reread P&P. Then, when I went back to P&P&Z, it was far funnier. The best jokes are the ones where you can remember what P&P did and can see how P&P&Z barely changes things to a whole different result.

So I recommend the book, but only to those who have either recently read P&P or remember the book and the major scenes quite well.

Thanks for that, Sheldrine. I was going to reread P&P right before diving into the zombie enhanced version, and this confirms it.

I need to email that link to our English department and see which professors laugh and which ones start sharpening their pitchforks...

Finished it about two weeks ago. It's exceedingly clever and downright hilarious, moreso if you know the original story well. I also found it a very good follow-up to World War Z.

I taught P&P for six years straight. I'm not sure whether whether reading this would be a torture or an exquisite release.

That's why I emailed the link to my English Lit department...

Everything's better with Zombies...

Now, if only they would do this with "War and Peace"...

I heard that the author's followup will be a book entitled "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". Which really fills a need, what with the lack of biographies of Abraham Lincoln. :)

I got this for my wife for Mother's Day. Loved it.

I've just torn through WWZ and now I'm reading the ZSG. Kinda backwards, but it gives a different perspective on each book.

Amazing coincidence is my DM is running Children of the Void right now. Combined with my current reading, it's making for some wonderful nightmares.

Zombies, man. They freak me out.

I just got this book - it has Ninjas as well if it had pirates it would have been win win win

I am tempted to base a clock punk, war of the worlds, campaign on this...

Low magic, clock work devices, Martians, the zombies being the initial part of the invasion.

I am a HUGE fan of this book... I a few of my students are reading it at the moment as well and loving it.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! I am there!

Now, all we need is John Howard: Harbinger of Tyranny!

Wasn't that just the last 10 years of real life in Australia...
