Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

Greeting from the city of Westcrown! This will be the place where all the cool ooc(all) stuff will take happen! The game will begin soon, very soon. I will give a few folks a day more to turn in the pc sheet to me!

Again do not post your pc online till I tell you it is ok.

Also do not post here till you have submited your pc to me, you are not official till you do, basically not in the game till you do!!!!

Folks who I sent back an email saying something to the effect, "Looks good, everything is fine" can post in this thread if you so desire. Again no talking about your pc yet, we have a long ride ahead of us so nows your chance to introduce the real "you" to everyone!

I will start, as the GM I am granted this by the Paizo gods! My name is Rob as you should already know, I live in Seattle, WA USA and work as a chef at a large hotel management company. My passions are gaming and cooking! I am a Paizo fanboy who has been to both PaizoCon's and last year(2008) was my first GenCon. Missed this year due to money, hopefully next year! I'm an AP addict, I am running all of the AP's on the boards as you might have noticed!

Ok that is enough for the moment as the wine is really kicking in right now and this is taking way to long to post as is! So, Jeff, Gene, Daniel, Larry and Philippe go ahead and join in the discussion! The others must wait till I give the big OK!
Cheers from Seattle,
Rob

Hey everyone, my name is Daniel, and I have got to go to work right now, so I will post more about myself when I get back this afternoon. :P

(Unknown Reptilian)

Hi guys, I'm Philippe. I'm a 30 years old guy and I live near Montréal, Qc, Canada (and yeah, I'm french). Presently, I work as a multi-purpose clerk in a small distribution compagny but what I really like is gaming (of all sorts, rpg, boards games, video games, etc ...). I've been playing D&D on and off since the late 80s / early 90s(we mostly started with the Rules Cyclopedia and 2nd edition). I also like to do some hiking in order to stay in a decent shape while still avoiding the gyms.

I'm looking forward to interracting with all your characters !

Hi, Phillipe! *waves*

As I was saying, I'm Daniel, and I work as a jewelry consultant/crafter. In my spare time I check the Paizo messageboards, watch youtube videos and try to reorganize my cluttered existence. I used to be into World of Warcraft, WAR online, but have not been interested in them lately. Most people are amazed at my resistance.

I think I've currently got 6 or 7 PBP's going on at the same time, but its interesting that so far its been managable.

Question for Phillipe, and please let me know if this is too personal. Did you learn French first or English, do you speak either with an accent?

I enjoy playing games, but I love playing games that have something I call the archaic aesthetic. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Diamond Throne setting for Arcana Evolved. If they made that into a mmorpg, I would probably be there every waking moment. :P

I would love a fantasy/medieval version of Sims. That's another idea that I've been intrigued by.

Top favorite computer games of all time: The Longest Journey, Alpha Centauri, and Majesty

Everyone has an accent, it's just a relative thing :). But seriously, ya my first language is french and I started to learn english in school (3rd grade). Between all the available english (the language .... not the brits) tv, movies, books and games and also by living 8 months in areas of the country with little to no french, I like to think I became bilingual but I still have a pretty obvious accent.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. :P

My name is Larry, live near Edmonton Alberta Canada, I had an amazing opportunity to write PFS #22, and am just turning over a manuscript for PFS #38. I am married, My wife is from Montreal (Brassard)....Went to Paizo con this last year, did I meet anyone there?

Not me. Hello Larry, I'm a Pathfinderaholic.

Errm... Not supposed to come out like that.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

In the next few hours I will start typing the begining of the game! I'm glad people are finding the discussion thread.
I was at Paizocon and most likely saw you there Larry! That weekend was so busy and went by way to fast for my taste. I got to play in Jason B. Cursed Lot 2 which was one of the funnest games I ever played in! I hope he runs Cursed Lot 3 next year!

Xaaon here...I'll be playing an interesting sort of character...

I've already been playing in one of zoom's games, I'm looking forward to this new PFRPG AP.

I'm been playing D&D for 26 years, I run a few games on the boards, my favorite currently being my Paranoia game!

I'm Gene, player of Ashenal, human male actor (rogue). I'm 41, have played D&D on and off since I was 10 (yes, the three little books in the small box -- the pre-Basic Set days). I am self-employed.

I enjoy mai tais, jai alai, long walks along the beach, and white-hot heterosexual monogamy.

Oops, wrong forum there.

Shadow Lodge (Male Human (Sometimes) Gamer 10/ Writer 7/University Student 5.)

Hi folks. I'm an Aussie, I'm 23, and I've been playing DnD since I was 14. I'm looking forward to seeing who you all are!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

The last person is finishing up their pc as I write this plus the fact Paizo was down all day due to their move, so I was delayed in getting the game started. I am begining in a few moment to type the intro so stayed tuned. I now work less than a 1/2 mile from the new Paizo site, wish they had a store front so I could just pick up my stuff instead of waiting 3 days for it to travel the twenty minutes it takes to drive to my place! Oh well, maybe they will come in and grab some food from my work someday!

Hi all, I'm the last person...

I'm Craig, 33 from Australia.
I enjoy Roleplaying, CCGs, Computers, Reading, Basketball and most of all my Family.

I've been in acouple of Rob's other games, so I'm looking forward to this one. Hope to chat more with you all soon.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

Alrighty then, the game has officially started! Go ahead and begin posting. If someone has posted before you assume they are inside the tavern so you may chat with them. Make sure to discribe yourself but don't give to much away as to what your character does. Right now your pc knows no one and trusts no one in the room, even Janiven, but has some hope that these are people similar in thoughts to you.

Before posting in the game thread, ALWAYS check here FIRST for any information I need you to know in the game. Again no ooc in the game thread, lets try real hard to keep it in all here! The exceptions to this are dice rolls for attacks, damage, saving throws, skill checks and the like. And I will most likely post with the statement NEXT ROUND to let you know the round is over and to begin rolling dice for your next attacks.

Another thing I thought of is for all of you to give me 5 init rolls and post it here in this thread. This will make things move faster so I do not have to wait for people sometimes. All rolls again are using Invisible Castle

Game ON!
Cheers,
Rob

Oh and Welcome to Westcrown, City of Twilight!

(Unknown Reptilian)

I accidentally put them in the campaign thread, but here they are again.

Initiative Rolls (1d20+2=21, 1d20+2=17, 1d20+2=16, 1d20+2=20, 1d20+2=15)

Int rolls:
5,14,5,23,22.

Shadow Lodge (Male Human (Sometimes) Gamer 10/ Writer 7/University Student 5.)

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

To get this moving I placed the last player in the room for dinner and will begin dinner and her speech tomorrow sometime! I paused to give all a chance to continue to meet each other and if you want to talk to Janiven and ask any questions before dinner. Keep things up, this is exciting and how I hoped it would be folks. It was fun reading all of the posts while at work on my iphone, made the night go faster.

Shadow Lodge (Male Human (Sometimes) Gamer 10/ Writer 7/University Student 5.)

Heh, I'm having fun.

Lets see how long I can make people think I'm an old man. I pulled a similar trick with a Half-Orc Druid once - the entire group was clueless for (in game) days.

Zoomackulas Eichendar wrote:

Sorry I am late. posting now. The Paizo server moved kinds coincided with my free time the last two days.

Initiative checks (1d20+5=19, 1d20+5=22, 1d20+5=7, 1d20+5=8, 1d20+5=10)

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

I can't keep my eyes open any longer so I will post later today when I wake up. In the mean time it would be good to come up with a marching order for the group so go ahead and discuss(in this thread) where everyone wants to be. Janiven and Morosino will take the lead for now since they know where they are going! Also go ahead and place your charter sheet on your player profile here! For now try not to look at the other players sheets! Goodnight!

I'll follow closely behind the NPCs, scouting ahead for danger as best I can. Either that or I can rearguard.

(Unknown Reptilian)

Just fyi, Za'unda is casting a simple light spell on his club.

I would propose to have Janiven and Mithreal at the front with 2 warrior-type (Almander and Shadow Blade maybe ?) to protect them. Za'unda and Ashenal could watch the rear, with the rest of us in the middle.

Oh, and btw, I hope I'm not annoying anyone with my 'attempts' at creating a special way of speaking for Za'unda.

updated my profile to indicate what the party actually knows about Xaandros...not much...

Xaandros is lagging behind to use his dark vision to prevent anything from sneaking up on us.

btw are we standing in liquid?

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

Working on game post now! Any other thoughts on marching order will be taken till tomorrow night when I post, then I will post the final order!

Also need to know who all has light sources lit!

While in the sewers and I describe that the floor is slippery or some such please make an acrobatics check! If you forget to post the check or missed it some how consider yourself falling on your butt or worse, depends on how much fun I want to cause!!

I have darkvision of course.

dark vision

(Male Human (Mwangi - Zenj))

Za'unda has his light enchanted club.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

Marching Order:
Janiven
Morosino
Wuglat
Almander
Shadow Blade
Mithrael
Jeric
Za'unga
Ashenal
Xaandros

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

You are all still in a five foot tunnel with half of the five feet taken up by the small river of sewage! State your actions and be mindful of where you are at in line! If you change order in anyway you will have to get your feet wet unless the front of the line moves into the room further but Janiven is in the process of handing back the torch and is unaware of things moving toward her as is Morosino who is recieving the torch!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

Reminder folks you don't need to roll init for the first 5 times! So to be fair I am going to disregard the inits in the game post!

Init Order for this combat;
Shadow Blade
Mithrael
Wulglat
Za'unga
Jeric
Enemy
Ashenal
Almander
Xaandros

I am going to give the three who have not posted till I wake up before posting what happens but please keep roleplaying and go ahead add your attack rolls to speed things up if you think you will be attacking something or someone or.......

Is there an opposite ledge in the sewer and if so, how far away is it? Would it be possible to jump across it or is it just too far without a run up?

It's a 5-foot tunnel. I don't think there's an "opposite ledge". Now, a little further ahead the tunnel might span out some, but where we are right now is just 5-feet wide.

Ahhh... I thought we were on a 5' ledge and there was a river of sewage travelling by next to us... that's why I thought there might be a ledge on the opposite side of the sewage. My mistake.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 8/Dice Roller 7/Beer Drinker 10)

What he said! 1/2 of the 5 foot is where you are standing and the other is the sewage flow. You are a little higher up than the sewage that is why your feet are dry for the moment, hehe! I'll try and be more clear, sometimes its hard to get the words in my head to flow into the post!

No problem. :)

Oh and Tahlali ain't steppin' in no sewage for noone... ;)

I am going to assume everyone will push forward into the chamber ahead so no one has to wait for people who are not posting! We got pleanty of people in this game so the ones who don't keep up with the posting will get left behind or if it keeps up dropped, unless they inform me real life issues are happening and I or someone else will need to NPC them for a short time! Sometimes I need a little kick in the butt myself with posting so don't hesitate to send me a little motivational email!

I do have lots of work I'm doing, but I'll be posting as I can. I've never dropped a game yet.

Are we experiencing a delay for a particular reason? I know a lot of people post from work, so the weekends are usually out. :P

Sorry the last few days have been extreamly busy for me at work as we are short staffed and hosted some big parties. We were able to hire a few yesterday and the rest of the week looks slow so should be able to get back to normal posting times!

Everyone who has not posted their entire character sheet on their profile for your pc, please go ahead and do so! It will make it easier for me to check things quicker in combat situations, thank you!

I just want to clear out something. I think that, like Mithreal said in the IC thread, a DR of 5/bludgeon reduces damage of piercing and slashing weapons while taking full damage from blunt weapons like a mace, hammer or club. I wasn't sure that's how Zoo applied it from the wording in his last post.

It seems I need to not read rules at 4 in the morning! I totally flip flopped the meaning so you all are correct! Since the Skeletons are almost gone we'll just keep things how they are unless someone really objects, nobody took any real damage though! I'll adjust a little if need be when I post in the game!
