Davi, it seems you have a weird effect for the Thieves' Guild Sympathizer feat. As I read it, it provides a +2 to Bluff and +2 to your allies' Passive Perception. (By the way, this doesn't stack with Willy's feat, but you do affect each other.)

Sorry, didn't even know I could do that. I had to go looking when you asked and figured it out (First time doing pbp on these boards though I have used other boards in the past).
Thom, I looked good on the last round but it cost me in terms of my overall capacity.
I burnt my daily and an action point. It was well worth it to use but my miserly side screams at me when I do that sort of thing on the first encounter of the day.

Well, now I really feel like I've been living the high life.
I spent my encounter on the first round of the encounter.
I'm glad Thom and Arrika still have juice left if we run into anything nasty in the next five minutes or so.

Well, I got involved in DnD Encounters at the local store. It was the first of a 12 session mini-campaign called Haluster's Apprentice and takes part in Waterdeep and Under Mountain (The next one is scheduled to take part on Athas).
I had made a character ahead of time and I was all set to play. The problem was that it was an open call type of event and eleven (including myself) players showed up.
I knew the DM organizer well and had done 4e with him before. He asked if I would step into the DM spot and take half the group. It was a bit of a suprise because I had not seen the adventure and brought with me only my 4e books that I use as a player. My DMG and MM1 were back at home along with my minatures and tiles.
The DM and the store owner were great hosts and they lent me some minatures and the Wizards people had sent a kit that included battle maps and pre-made characters (really important as the group of five that I ran had never done 4e before. Three had done a bit of 3.5 and two were total new inductees to pen and paper gaming). I was able to quickly scan and read the important information and be able to run the first encounter in fifteen minutes.
I needed to spend another fifteen minutes teaching the main rules to the first time players. They were a great bunch and all enjoyed themselves. We started at 6 PM and wrapped up by 8:30 PM.
The only thing that threw me a real curve was two of the six pre-made characters were classes from the PH3 (psion and monk). I was glad to get my PH3 on Monday and get a chance to scan the interior contents. I was thus able to help answer questions on Power Points and how they worked for the player that took the psion. (Wizards has a few extra bonus or Renown points connected to the PH3).
Still, introducing five fresh faces to the fun of table top gaming and DnD 4e is a good thing and I hope most of them choose to come out again in a weeks time.
I guess this is a good time to spell out my plans in case of things starting to slow down.
I understand, of course, that things come up in real life, so generally, my plan in combat is to give you 24 hours to post. If that time passes and you haven't had time to post something, then your character is considered to be delaying. He can hop in any time (between turns on the Initiative Track) as soon as you return.
I think this is the fairest way to keep things moving.
As I posted on the actual board, there's nothing very formal involved in these little scenes. I won't let you get terribly sidetracked, but you are free to handle things as you see fit. You can ignore cries for help (in fact, it's unlikely you'll make the meet if you help every person you meet), but I thought it was a fun way to get to know the characters (including Torrent) a bit better.
I'll let you know when you're actually in a skill challenge, and we'll move on soon.

Torrent intends to get out of the city and to Lyceum (the mage academy to the south). It is her hope that you will help her get the information from Rivereye to the academy, so you might be with her for some time. (i.e., she is not a single-scene NPC.) Statistically, I have a full write-up for her, but she tends to hang back in combat, leaving the spotlight to you guys.

Although I'm not a huge fan of the changeling, I guess it's fine. I'll see what I can come up with as far as feat, but I imagine something that gives you a re-roll on a Streetwise check or a +2 to Intimidation and Streetwise wouldn't be out of the question.

This is a pretty gentle ramp, only ascending 20' total, so you could hop down without an acrobatics roll from Row G or H. Anywhere higher than that would involve a bit of damage and falling prone.
17 Radiant damage and Blind. Ouch and double ouch. I really hope Arrika is still on her feet as there are likely going to be a few needing some words to buck them up.
