ugh... sorry for my absence guys... I've not had a chance to even look at Paizo for the last couple of days. Work has been kicking my arse. :(

I've been working a couple of 10 hour days, which normally wouldn't bother me, but the air con at work is broken and working 10 hrs in 35 degree (celcius) heat has left me totally drained at the end of the day and I've not had the energy to do much at all (plus the fact I have a 4 and 2 year old wanting to run me ragged when I get home).
I'll try and get an update up tonight after the kids are in bed.

Sorry again.

No worries, mate. Thanks for letting us know it's just RL and not something worse. One has to worry when their online friends and associates just disappear, you know.

Feel free to send some of that heat up north, while you are at it.

OK I'm sooo sorry again for my absence.
Work has slowed down, Air Con is fixed at work and I am back to feeling a bit more like myself.
I'm going to spend tonight catching up on my PbPs I've neglected this past week and be ready to get back into the swing of things.

lol... It's supposed to be cooling down now the first month of Autumn is almost over, but instead we've had a week of temps like it's the middle of Summer... :/

You guys should be starting to warm up up there right, with Spring starting up and all?

We've been bouncing back and forth, temperature-wise. We've seen freezing in the last week, but since I made that request, we've also seen around 20 deg C (I think, I don't convert to Celsius often - 60 deg F) with predictions for 80 deg F in the next couple of days (which is still shy of 30 deg C, if I've done the mental math right). The joys of being a long, long way from a large body of water -- when the weather wants to turn, it does. Sometimes a very big turn.

(We like to say that we appreciate all four seasons, and we have to -- we might see all of them in one day.)

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

I canceled a work related trip one morning last week because of the icy roads and by the time my boss got back to me it was 20 degrees celsius and sunny. I felt a bit dumb. ;-)

I'm just letting you know that I will be on holidays (Skiing) for about a week starting the 24th (through to probably the 1st). I am taking my laptop just in case, but I wouldn't hold my breath for the apartment we're staying in to have Wifi access.

Cheers :)

OK I am back, but no Internets was very painful, so even though I'm back I may still not be too talkative since I have to catch up on a huge amount of crap (PbPs, FB, e-mails, etc...). Oh and I also have to spend the next 2 days re-formatting my computer and getting it back up to scratch, so that's gonna put me out of the loop again as well.

I should have Internet again by tomorrow night (my Monday, USA Sunday night) so I can at least check in, but I have a lot of work to cram into the next two days, so sorry if I am a bit splotchy on contact 'til midweek. :)

Well, for what it's worth, Asim had a pretty awesome round of attacks in your absence. Made me feel better about rolling on your behalf...

Sorry for the delay all, RL stepped up in the form of us deciding that it was time for my new gf to go back to work. And since I can operate my business from home, suddenly this 20yrs long confirmed bachalor is playing Mr. Mom to her two beautiful toddler girls (whom I dearly love.)

But between dirty diapers, bathtime, feeding, play, breaking up fights and the little one with a fever (which means she has become surgically attached to the(my) hip), not to mention getting my new biz going and trying to keep some semblance of an actual relationship going with ma girl, time has been a commodity in short supply. Thankfully, do to my getting more into the grove of things now and an invention called a DVD player, I am able to grab a few moments here and there.

Korianand I are still here, and will play as often as I can. If at any time though my absence causes any delay please feel free to dmpc the young mage.

Thanks

Real life happens. Kids are worth it though, aren't they?

Yeah, no worries. After resting Sykala should be a much more active participant again.

Andoran (Male Human Geek Level 10)

We have quite a haul:

Form the sarcophagus:

black marble scorpion
ankh (magic)
4 feathers (magic)
scarab (magic)
black candle (magic)
large bead covered in numbers (magic)
jet-black stone carving of a devil
topaz ring
56 gp (ancient mintage)

Scepter:

pearl (magic?)
several scrolls
several wands
special hat
damaged wandrifle

The Paracount:

collection of scrolls
armor (magic)
amulet (magic?)
rods
jade mantis
wracking rod
steel devil headed key

Thanks. I'll try to detail the magic here later. Some of this stuff is pretty cool and your characters will be dripping with desert adventure flavor for years to come.

Loot-wise Sykala is out of the picture right now. When she becomes available she will show some interest in the Jade Mantis. It's pretty and venerates one of natures creatures.

Other potentially useful stuff for her would be the periapt of wisdom (Are you going to leave it a amulet Tarren or convert it to a headband to match Pathfinder standards?) She does have an amulet already so not sure whether she would exchange it or not.

The pearl of power is a useful trinket too.

The only scroll that's on her spell list is the Stone Shape.

All that being said, she is not a material girl and will probably only end up with something if you directly give it too her or it lies abandoned.

Sykala wrote:

It should probably be a headband as I've made other conversions to Pathfinder standards where possible.

Voting is open at www.koboldquarterly.com. My broodiken is in a distant third (the only Pathfinder monster in the top 3).

(M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3)

Hey I thought your bodokin were very cool and Very original! I'll vote!

And too your earlier reply Tarren...Yup! ; )

(Fighter (Shield) 3 / Rogue 4)

Maybe I'm tired (and I am), but Ovirid is not seeing a lot that excites him in the loot. He'll hold off and let the others make their picks 'cause whatever he accepts is probably going to get sold...

(Unless I'm just tired and overlooking something.)

Broodiken is by far the best entry of the top 3 (that's all I read). Very nice. If you were even close I would go through the sign up process and vote for you.

Andoran (Male Human Geek Level 10)

Congrats on making the top 3!

(M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3)

Congrats on the top 3 Tarren. Yours was most definitely the most original. I signed up and voted but didn't know how far behind you were (my opinion is that people voted for the pure destructive power of the grasshopper things instead of orginality, otherwise you would have won.)

Sorry about my long loot post in the IC, I'd meant to post it here.

Ixus, why don't you take these scrolls -- dispel magic, web, enlarge person (1)

Korian will take these so he can add them to his book: enlarge person (1), erase, fog cloud, haste, magic weapon

And he'll also promise to scribe you any scroll(s) you want at cost.

As for wands, there's 2 level 0 and one level 2 wand. So why doesn't one person take both 0's and the other the level 2? Is that fair? You pick which ones you want: acid splash (22 charges), ray of frost (48 charges), scorching ray (10 charges)

As for the Divine Scrolls, unless I'm mistaken, it looks like Korian has the best chance of using them with his +6 UMD. So does it make sense he take those as well? Or better to just sell them?

Assuming there's no objection, he'll take the Pearl of Power.

Ovirid is holding onto the spellbook for now

and finally the wand rifle. Question- what would it take to fix it? And/or alternatively, could Sykala warp wood again to fix it?

And last but not least, Tarren, did you catch the question about the other loot? The Radiant Pharoah's stash?

oh PS I have no objection to anything else anyone else has claimed.

PSS Anyone have a Handy Haversack by the way? ; )

(Fighter (Shield) 3 / Rogue 4)

Khaladon wrote:

"Oh, sure. Ye want t' be grabbin' the stuff, but ye want me t' be carryin' 't fer ye?" The dwarf has a haversack of the nature you request.

Andoran (Male Human Geek Level 10)

The arcane scroll split sounds good.

Korian can have the wand of scorching ray and wand of acid splash, Ixius knows both of those spells, so he will just take the wand of ray of frost.

Maybe Sykala should get the divine scrolls?

Radiant Pharoah's stash:

Headdress of Intellect +2
bag of holding (type 1)
Wand of false life (3 charges)
jewelery (535 gp worth)
crystal flask
silver coins (300 gp)

(M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3)

Thanks Tarren.

Oh ya, that's right, it totally slipped my mind that Druids cast Divine spells as well. As long as she can cast the Cleric spells then yes for sure, they should go to her if she wants them.

And ok, that's cool Ixus, thanks. You want to grab the wand of false life then?

And oooh! Headband of intellect! Obviously Korian will be interested in that as well, but he's already done pretty good with the stash so if any one else wants it that's cool.

And bag of holding? Orivid, do I finally see your roguish eyes lighting up? ; )

Well, the goggles of minute seeing that came with the book should please Ovirid, or did someone already claim those? Of course, they won't be much use when he's blindfolded.

When you guys have divided up the list, let me know and we'll continue.

(Fighter (Shield) 3 / Rogue 4)

"Aye, th' bag o' 'oldin' 's somethin' Ah c'n be fer usin'. 'n th' wee glasses 'r useful, 's well. Ah'll put 'n a request fer those two items if'n it be 'l right wit' th' rest o' th' party."

Hrokon will take the rod of wracking, that device used by Chelish torturers, "for old time's sake". Esteban will take the hat of disguise.

Had anyone else claimed those items?

(M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3)

No I think that's cool Tarren. Time to move on?

I'm fine with them taking those items.

Khaladon wrote:

Okay. When you're ready.

Just to let you know, I will be taking what I think is a much-deserved vacation to anywhere but here starting Saturday. I expect to have Internet access, but I don't expect to have a lot of time, so my posting after Friday might be sporadic for a week or so.

Please DMPC Ovirid as necessary.

Resurrecting this thread just because it explains where a few items ended up toward the end here. Looks like Korian was right about where some of the items went (Rod of Wracking, Bag of Holding, etc...).

I believe this is what we used before.

7th Level
20 pt Buy.
Max hp 1st Level, then roll for each level, rerolling 1s
+1 Skill Point into Craft, Profession or Knowledge and treat that Skill as a Class Skill, gaining 1 automatic Skill Point in it per Level
Starting Gold as the wealth per level chart on p. 399 (I keep my book at work ... I love my job!)
I'm open to other Pathfinder products and 3PP but all to be approved by DM.

From the Golariopedia:

Spoiler:
The most common religions are those of Abadar, Nethys, Pharasma, and the other major gods of Osirion, but the country has several unique faiths, including the twin serpent cults of Wadjet and Apep and the dung beetle Khepri, a cult for peasants.[15] Despite the efforts of the Keleshite rulers, the worship of Osirion's native beast-headed gods has continued to the present.[16] The shaven-headed Osirian priests usually wear white robes with fringed kirtles, and sometimes ornate pectorals or headscarves, veils, or metal or leather masks.[16] The churches of Sarenrae, Nethys, and Pharasma have played a particularly prominent role in Osirian history. Osirian worshippers of Irori tend to cluster in isolated communities in valleys among the Barrier Range and Brazen Peaks, including the Temple of An-Alak in the Salt Hills, the Stepped Tower of Djedefar on the Alamein Peninsula, and the ritual center of the Monastary of Tar Kuata beyond the Footprints of Rovagug.[17]

One note: I have a cleric with similar stats -- I believe you should be able to channel 6/day rather than 4/day thanks to the Extra Channel feat.

(Pointing this out for purely selfish reasons as someone likely to want need some of that healing...)
