This is a thread for the PbP game of the same name. If you have any questions, pointers, anecdotes, or anything all you want to share but don't feel needs to be put in ooc tags in the gameplay thread, this is the spot to be.

Also feel free to use this for general chit-chat! I like to get to know new people, and this is a prime opportunity. With that in mind, I'll start with a little about myself.

I'm a young (relatively for these boards) gamer both in terms of age and experience in the hobby- I've only participated in a handful of games (that I count anyway) but I wound up DMing for most of those. I had a lot of bad experiences with local gamers being extremely flaky, but eventually found a core group that I've been playing with for about 15 months now.

I'm a big fan of Pathfinder and Golarion, obviously, but I'm also a fan of the Eberron campaign setting, as well as Star Wars and the Star Wars RPG. I'm in the process of starting up a Star Wars game in real life using the Starblazer Adventures rules- I strongly recommend them for any rules-light game, the Fate system is great.

In my personal life, I'm 22 years old, going to school so I can (eventually) teach English, and married to my high school sweetheart and the only woman I've ever so much as kissed. We're coming up on our first anniversary late next month, and if things go according to plan we'll be in New Zealand for at least a week as a year-late honeymoon.

Wow, I ended up going on more than I intended. I'll blame the gin and tonic....

Oh, also, if any of you want to, feel free to add me as a friend on Windows Live Messenger, my handle is the same as it is here (w0nkothesane), with @hotmail.com tacked onto the end. I won't be on much in the next couple of days, but Sunday through Thursday I'm normally on all week while at work.

one question about monk;
I can´t seem to figure out if a monk can throw multiple shurikens with his flurry of blows feat, as it is a special monk weapon, or if he still needs the quick draw feat to accomplish it...

Hey guys.
Going to try for an informal introduction here... can´t seem to get the hang of loosening up while writing letters.

I´m the older model of a roleplayer here, 30 (I´m told thats old anyway, I certainly don´t feel it).
Born and raised Icelandic (and rather proud of it I guess), married, two kids and am a professional chef. Work hours for me are irregular at best, but Im always up early in the morning )and tend to stay up late too :P).

Played D&D allot when I was younger, mostly Caves of Chaos and Isle of Dread (we didn´t have anything else at the time), went missing for a decade from roleplay and just started playing again approx. 1.5 years ago. About 6 months on Ebberon (Shacled City and Age of Worms)and the last year on Golarion (btw. I love what paizo did to D&D, awsome stuff!)

Basicly I just want MORE when it comes to roleplay, and was hoping pbp could fill the slot as I´m a rather buisy man and can´t make time for another group.

edit: just spotted it, the shuriken is listed as a weapon he can use flurry of blows with :)

I'm married and have a daughter, (Valora). We currently live in Missouri (US), but in a few months I am deploying, so who knows then. About to train for Combat Medic, looking at probably going into EMT/Nursing.

I have been gaming on and off for I don't know, 20 years. I really like D&D and WoD games. Big fan of Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and Vampire the Masquerade. I have never played in an organized game, and little PbP experience, but I (think I) know the basics.

I am somewhat vocal on the forums here, having gotten in on Pathfinder in the early to mid Beta testing.

I generally don't care for Organized play, but want to give it an honest go, and also want to see how running an organized play game is.

If you don't mind, w0nkothesane, would you mind giving me some tips and explaining the DMing side while we play? Not metagame knowledge or spoilers, as much as "In PFS, we do this a little differently" or "the Scenarios add this to the game that most home games don't".

Sigz, a Shuriken is treated as Ammunition for drawing purposses. A Monk can Flurry with them, and Drawing them is a free action. PF 148, under Shuriken and 141 for Ammunition.
Think of it "Ninja-style", like having a pile of Shurikens on the palm of one hand while the other is tossing them out real fast, or throwing two or three at a time in one hand, (one between each nuckle). Unless PFS changed that?

This makes me of the younger ones for once which is refreshing. i'm Alex as you can see from the name, Half-English Half-Norse and i'm 21. Currently on a gap year betwee second and third year of my degree in IT and Business at Southampton University.

Done a bit of PBP, been RPing avidly since 2000 and in that time its mostly been me running the sessions. Trying to get more play in, and this seemed like a nice way to get involved with PFS (as theres almost nothing happening with face-to-face PFS in England).

I'm usually either in my student house, or at my girlfriends; either way I can usually get on the net at least a few times a day.

Cheliax (male (despite all the female characters I play...:P) Human (he he))

Well, that makes me the old man around here anyway, just turned 40, he he. I started when i was 10 years old, and played all forms of dnd from 1e through 4e, now home in PF. tried the RPGA thing once, for my only experience with organized play.

Married, no kids. I work in tech support, so i have access to the boards all day.

I won't be able to post for a while, maybe 9 hours. Sorry.

This is pretty funny, I do tech support as well right now.

Whippersnappers, all. I'm 44 (will turn 45 this year at GenCon) and have been gaming since the late seventies. I'm married with a four year old daughter (Sarah) and live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago (Schaumburg, to be exact.)
I grew up here and still game with a couple of friends I went to high school with, as well ones ex-wife, her now ex-husband (we are a very inbred group) and another we met at Games Plus in Mount Prospect.
I work for American Airlines at O'Hare and have for alomst 25 years now.

Vanulf, I grew up in the Bolingbrook/Woodridge area of Chicago, as well. Great to know you!

JZ, I uhh don't want to be a pain, but *puts on legal hat* your char is not a PFS char.

*takes off hat*

He just needs to re-create the profile as a PFS character, Sevegne is PFS legal in all other regards. So long as he does it before we finish I think it'll be fine.

No problem, didn't mean to step on anyones toes. Just wnted to know what faction she belongs to, he he

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

I have to ask- do you have to be within one step of your factions alignment or anything? I ask only because Wadi is about as far from Lawful Evil as you can be being Chaotic Good and working for Cheliax...

There are no alignment restrictions for factions. You can be loyal to your country but disagree with the people in power. It definitely makes your character think a lot more about his actions when he's given orders that contradict his morals, but if it's well played that just leads to a lot of good RP.

Just wanted to let you all know that at the last minute, my wife and are driving to Sacramento to support my little brother in a Magic: The Gathering tournament. I'll be back and able to post later tonight.

All I can say is, you can still be paranoid, if they are out to get you, he he

Also notice the feats he took, he he.

No problem at all. I've edited the profile to indicate faction.

Whew! Busy weekend! Sorry for not posting yesterday, my day got a little crazy and it didn't help that I left my printout at home yesterday. However, I'm back and ready to get back to it.

Probably won't be able to update initiative until tomorrow morning, so I just wanted to post here before leaving work letting you all know. Happy St. Patrick's Day, everybody, and I'll see you all tomorrow (hopefully) bright and early with another long post.

Much thanks to wonko and everyone else for what has been a fantastic game straight out the gate.

It's been my pleasure thus far, I just wish I had a little bit more free time to update. As it stands, I have had a crazy day at work and won't have time to update until later tonight, or early tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience, everybody. I appreciate it.

crazy day at work? I sympathize who;e heartedly

I just want to give everybody a heads up, that I'm leaving town starting this Thursday to go to my cousin's wedding in Seattle! I hope to be able to hop on at least once or twice during the trip, but I'll essentially be gone from the forums until Monday, when I should be back.

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

Heads up- I'm in Thailand and then Ukraine from this Saturday until the 16th of April. I should still be able to meet posting requirements though.

I won't be able to post until tomorrow, sorry.

Anybody else notice the irony of posting something to say you won't be able to post until later?

I have to drop out to focus on the games that I run. Sorry, everyone.

Sevegny wrote:

Funny reason. Dropping out of a PBP that barely updates to get more time; admit it its just the lack of updates that got you quitting lol.

Wonko, i'm afraid i'm out too- the PBP seems to have faltered and died with less and less posts from you, so I guess you had some RL stuff come up- fair enough.

For what its worth I enjoyed the game while it was active, and thankyou for running it.

Alex (aka Dakkon)
