<innocent look>Arianwyn is a striker?</innocent look>

I'm not sure Rev was talking about recruiting -- and we do have really good chemistry here -- but if we do, a melee or mixed striker would be a good choice. Is JZ still interested?

If not recruiting, I think we just need to hope we run into few brutes or solos.

I confess, my damage output is pants. I think I have turned into the skill-monkey of the party, so he's not entirely useless.

As Rev has stated, I will be going on a soul-searching journey. Hopefully we shall meet again.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Farewell, and godspeed!

Amelia, by all means wait for the next update - I've got no problem with that at all. Use what you have for now, but update to whatever power you want once it does come out. Just let me know if you decide to swap anything out when you can. If we end up neck deep in combat again before next Tuesday, I'll find some way of investing you with your new power if need be.

Fabes, you'll be picking up a rod shortly which may help you.

I hadn't planned on recruiting, more just asking JZ if he's still wishful of joining this happy band of misfits. As you say, the group chemistry is special and I think he'd fit right in.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Still need to do wishlist.

Arianwyn wrote:

That would be very helpful.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Leveling up the cloak and armour to level 2 would be great.

Somehow ditch Urho for an Ironwood Hound?

Whiteclaw's updated.

Quite a few little changes. New power is Winter's Claws, cold damage and a slow effect on one target.

Using level retraining, I dropped Windbourne Step for Returning the Gift.

Also, with novice power, I altered that. I got back Thunder Ram Assault losing Frost Flash, and, instead, dropped Earthgrasp Strike for Tundra Wind to give her a burst power that fits her cold theme.

I can't help but hope we run into fire monsters at some point!

(Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame)

Who are you calling a monster?

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

New power - Mire the Mind - renders me and allies invisible to target.

Replaced Novice Power with Durable - now have 2 further healing surges.

Replaced Incendiary Sword with Otherwind Stride - immobilise enemies in close burst 1 and then teleport away!

Oh, joy. You've all just got scarier than you already were. My poor monsters. How they suffer.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason is updated to a post-rest, post-levelling state. Added Break The DMs' Spirit.. or something like that.

He would appreciate an increase to his darkleaf hide armour (ie +2) or some Bracers of Defense, or Dwarven Greaves. Something nice and defensive.

Alternatively, a Diadem of Acuity would help his pathetic Perception score...

I will be away from the 21st-29th. Cruel necessity requires that I spend a week on the beach in the Dominican Republic. Smart money is investing in Bacardi.

Bizarrely, in my live game, I just played through the original of what Rev made into our library encounter. It was a lot easier tonight!

And a hearty congratulations to our GM!

I'll see what I can do about beefing up Reason's defenses while his player lolls in comfort on a beach investing in Bacardi.

Your game must have been slightly surreal Pat. The original of that encounter was certainly a good deal easier than the version I unleashed on you.

Congrats indeed on the award.

Let me add my own congrats!

Thank you :)

I'm happy to tell you that JZ will soon be joining us. He'll be posting here shortly and I'm working out ways of getting him into the game.

Storywise, I'd rather not add him to your upcoming encounter with Kyleth, but he will have plenty to do while he waits. Try not to die folks. It would be so much nicer if you didn't.

Note that I'll be running Gobi (unless Tieren shows up again, in which case - welcome back!) and Seraphiel in this one.

Thereafter both have reasons to stay in Namarth and you will all, hopefully, find reasons not to.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Yeah, let's ditch this burg and find a good honest cave system. Oh, er, yes, I have all the social skills... whoops.

There's no pleasing some eladrin.

Hello again, folks. Rev, what level does my ranger start at? Standard 22 point buy? Sorry for the delay.

Hi there, JZ :) Good to see you. Delay is not a problem as the Scoobies are currently neck deep in a battle with their old nemesis. Let me know when you're good to go and I'll start slotting you in.

Your ranger will start at level 7. Standard 22 point buy and you can take a background if you like.

On which subject, if anyone hasn't already taken a background and associated bonus, feel free to do so. I've been meaning to say as much for ages.

And so another chapter draws to a close. I will be shutting down the game thread shortly. Just trying to think of a suitable title for Part 4.

18 months and we are now the longest running 4e pbp on the boards. Go us :)

Unless anyone has some rabid objections, we'll hang on to this as the discussion thread. It's done us proud through two adventures and can't see any good reason to change it apart from the title making no sense any more.

Fine with me. "the company of riggarth against the sons of kargzant"

ok not so catchy...

"Hooves of Horror" already got the thumbs down. Although I am sorely tempted by "Steppe by Wicked Steppe"

Sorrow of the Treeless Land.

New thread is up. Enjoy.

Selling your melee specialist five minutes after arriving in a new town is a first for me :)

(Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame)

If we do, Arianwyn just might find out what she would "fetch"

I'll just check my AD&D 2E books to check the prices for various animals. I reckon we'll get at least 10 chickens for her.

Regularly selling Whiteclaw for supplies is not an option that had previously occurred to me. For parties with wild shapers, it's not an entirely stupid plan. Just a slightly bizarre and immoral one.

It certainly made me laugh IRL!

Just a note to let you all know that I am still living.

In the process of up-catching. And should be relatively available again by the weekend.

Ah - wonderful! Your skills are much needed. I've given you a Kargzant phrasebook. It's not terribly useful, but it seemed like the kind of thing he'd take with him.

Perhaps we can just speak loudly and gesture a lot.

Scribbling Rambler wrote:

Just try not to sell all your belongings by accident, that's all I ask.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Ooh, the Winterkin Eladrin article (Wizards site) is very fun.

Arianwyn's potential paragon path?

It's a bit too... snowy.. for my liking.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Arianwyn is now on iplay4e.

Warning: whinging ahead

Spoiler:
I really hoped that things would improve in 2010...

I was notified at 3pm today that I would be shipped to another dept/shift on Monday. Strong rumour has it that I will be switched yet again on the following Monday. I am grateful to still be working, but am somewhat annoyed about the lack of consideration: management has known about the move for a month or so.

With this turmoil, I am not sure what my internet access will be... especially if I am, as rumoured, being sent to a steady graveyard shift. I will do my best to keep up, but please don't let me bog things down.

Hopefully, I will be more settled again in 2-3 weeks.

Eeesh. These are bad times. Don't fret. Let me know what your access if going to be like when you know yourself and we'll go from there. I've got no problem looking after Reason for a bit.

For those of you checking here before the game thread, you are now level 8.

Please up the numbers, up the stats and acquire yourselves a new feat along with any retraining you want to do.

As always, make sure the profiles are up to date.

(Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path)

Guess I'm training in Endurance for my next feat. Sorry guys, I rolled horribly.

It happens, we all have weak spots in skills. This time you hit one, but, it doesn't seem to have gone all that bad.

Could have been a good deal worse. Whiteclaw revealing herself as a gnoll was a surprisingly good move. They admire primal power a lot as it's the basis of most of their magic.

She did it because it was a test and before I posted I debated for like 10 minutes if I should try and put out of the fire with one of her cold powers :) I decided that would be pushing it a little.

Trust me on this. Putting out the sacred fire would have lead to a pretty bloody battle. I can't think of a diplomacy roll high enough to get out of that one. Going gnoll was a much better choice :D
