Welcome back. Food poisoning is vile, but glad to know you're feeling better.

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

oooh! gleefully claps the glacial drake is my handiwork! Yay, glacial drake!

erm, go get'em, everyone! What for!

:D

-Ben.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Thank you so much for them! *grumble*

-Ben.

It rolled superbly on its first round.

Terraleon

Spoiler:

Seemed to make sense to shift this encounter to outside the Citadel. Starving predators waiting for fresh meat. The frosties are smart enough to have attacked before they got there, these boys are not. Plus, the drake has some nice powers I wanted to test.

Oh, the drake is your fault? :)

BTW, my character sheet is more presentable now and slightly less inaccurate. Thanks for putting up with me, Rev.

Not a problem.

DM profile updated to include all your profiles. If you could all take a quick cross check on each other, I'd be very grateful.

bmars - how are things looking for you? Depending on who your character turns out to be, I can give you a slightly different introduction which may be helpful to the others as well.

Merry Christmas everyone!

And to you as well! Hope it's a happy and relaxing holiday for everyone.

(Male Half-elf Assassin 13)

Merry Christmas from everybody's favorite assassin.

Happy shroud casting to you :)

(Male Human Expert 1)

I personally don't have any burst attack but Quillan has an attack he could use to put the swarms next to each other for easier blasting. Anyone have a good burst or blast that I should know about?

(Male Dwarf Warlord 10)

There are some on my profile. Can help allies attack.

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

:(

Awwwww, he hardly beat anyone up...no death saves at all!

*munches popcorn*

This is fun!

A delight to watch, everyone!

-Ben.

-Ben.

My fault. I undercooked the EL. Set it for 5, ended up with 6 in the mix and then misread the Larva. Headdesk. It was a fun encounter though.

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

Oooooh! :) What was that? ;)

heehee!

/me squirms in seat.

*munch more popcorn*

Keep it coming!

I was expecting a just a few nice goblins to knock around.

Hehehe.

I can, with some certainty, say that there are relatively few goblins in this adventure.

Also, I would check if the regular adventurer's kit includes emergency pants. ;)

-Ben.

(Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1)

What, was it your idea to include the things with the area-effect Dominate? If those things can do that more than once an encounter, well let's just that it's a good thing that the monsters in this fight seem reasonably flimsy.

(Male Human Expert 1)

Yeah, no kidding. I really hate stun attacks as well. I might get to post again by next Friday. :)

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

I wrote a later section of the adventure and spearheaded the conversion to from d20 to 4E. But then that's why I'm watching with such excitement-- you guys are like opening night!

-Ben.

I'm really aware of how frustrating stunning is even at a table game, still more a pbp and I promise not to leave you all incapable of acting through the whole encounter. They have many other nasty things they can do to you - mostly involving pointy stuff. Regard their attack as a warning shot. These guys are not exactly normal.

Terraleon

Spoiler:
Email coming your way.

Please note amendment to the bombardier effects on the game thread. Thanks Terraleon - most helpful.

Well, he did say he likes a challenge! I'm sure he's loving it now. ;) :D

Silver Crusade (Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10)

Nayce is quickly running out of ranged powers :(

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

Now there's a fight! :) Well done! It even looked pretty dicey there for a bit. :D

-Ben.

My good rolls ran out right about the time their tactics kicked in. Ah well. Now we all know that derro are very nasty.

Anyone wanting to do a rebuild of sorts is most welcome to do so. Make sure you run any major proposed changes past me and also ensure that all the new details make it into your profiles.

Silver Crusade (Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10)

I just swapped that one at-will for Nayce, and it's in my profile now.

(Male Dwarf Warlord 10)

Martial Power 2 comes out in 2 weeks time - would I be able to update Dorvin then, please?

Yes.

Here's Rusty's stats right after the gold-dwarf fight:

HP 49/ 77 , Surges 8/11, AP 0.

I spend one surge (21 HP) to get to 70.

HP 70/77 Surges 7/11, AP 1.

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

Oooh! The Ventshafts room! :)

While I very much appreciate that Rev has created a replica for you, the map of this room is one of the prettier examples in this adventure. :)

Especially the isometric, but I'm biased. :D

Still loving the ride, all!

-Ben.

It's been great fun indeed. Thanks, all :)

I'm a lousy mapper and there is (alas) no way I can recreate the isometric without brain surgery :)

But it is a thing of beauty and I'll post it if I can find a cunning way to cut and paste it into Flickr, just so you can see how pretty it is.

Ben - email on its way to you :)

A Question for you all (or rather, several questions):

1) Do any of you play Savage Worlds? Or would you be interested in trying it?

2) If so, would you like to be a player in a PbP Savage Worlds conversion of Kingmaker?

3) If so again, would you be averse to it being played on Google Wave?

I know, it sounds like a niche of a niche, but it would be interesting to find out as I really want to run it.

Hi Fabes,

1) I've been very interested in SW for a long time.

2) *faint*

3) I'm playing a game on Google Wave and it's kind of a mess. The map tools are buggy. Conversation is klunky.

(Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1)

So, three players so far? A few more and we should be set.

(Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2)

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite battles and I'm loving watching you guys go at it.

Thanks again! :)

-Ben.

Well, that fight got a little tougher once the bad guys stopped hurting each other ... ;)

I've been having a blast following this, so I wanted to stick my head in and thank everyone for such a fun PbP. Keep up the fine work!

Rev DM,

Jon Roberts has posted images of the maps from Roots, Grajava, and Deeper on Cartographer's Guild. The Roots thread is here. You might have to sign up (free) to see them, but I thought that might help get the images in a Flickr-ready format.

Let me know if you need anything for Eye of Grajava. This is great fun to watch!

Thanks Therabyd. Looking now.

This is the thing of beauty I have been failing to reproduce for you. Enjoy.

Thank you!

Just in case anyone misses it on the game thread, please level yourselves up.

With the dawn of Level 10, you could profitably give some thought to paragon paths for these chaps as they'll be hitting that at the next level.

(Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1)

Should it matter right now, I'll be heading for Wandering Swordmage. I was planning on it when I first made the character, and damn it I'm going to take it now.

(Male Dwarf Warlord 10)

Ber-limey. Level 10... I think I may be going for Platinum Warlord.

Davi - it doesn't matter as such, but it helps me plan for appropriate loot. That's if I ever get around to providing any, which I'm bad about.

Silver Crusade (Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10)

Hmm. These assassin paragon paths aren't very inspiring.

Dwarven Defender for me. Has to be.

Rusty has been updated to level 10. I added Last Ditch Evasion as my utility, and Improved Initiative as my feat.

Celestial Healer wrote:

If you see something that works for Nayce as a character, run it past me. I'm often prepared to houserule.
