Hehe, well now I know why this spell is rarely used (in my experience). At least you helped Venmirl to remove the threat of the fire spreading to nearby buildings. Hypnotism could still be great in other situations, like to avoid a fight or to influence someone.

Yes I agree with you on all your points, but NOW he needs that MM spell!

Hi folks! I've just noticed that Paizo just released an updated PDF for the advanced class playtest (all classes in one file, you can get it here). No hurry but Venmirl should eventually be updated. There isn't any major changes for level 1 from what I could see. You get a few more class skills and an ability called 'Stern gaze' which gives you 1/2 your level (minimum 1) as a bonus to Intimidate and Sense motive.

While I'm at it, I also noticed that Naomi's sheet is missing an alignment. I'm guessing it's either CN or just N but you tell me.

Finally, anyone has any comments and/or feedback on how things are going/how things are being run? Feedback (well constructive one) is always welcome.

No I have no complaints at all. Keep up the good work soldier, he he.

I would like Calla to score critical hits every time, please. Only then will I be satisfied! ;)

AL: Neutral. She could care less about the goblin attack, but they made the mistake of seperating her from her family.

Because of this, the goblins had better hope they can run faster...

To borrow from MMO lingo, it's called 'I win button'.

I'm also wondering if Grimmeh/Zelazny is gone for good or if he's simply busy.

LOL!

I suspect he is just busy, think he has finals or other school stuff, lets give him a few more days.

Reptilian,

Have you looked at this: Restless Souls (PFRPG) PDF

I think it may be needed at some point

(Unknown Reptilian)

Hehe, we're not there yet. There's still hope ... just listen to the bard's song, it will do you some good.

Btw, Naomi, it's a bit late for this now, but you might want to reread the copycat ability in the trickery domain. I had expected you to use it more.

(Unknown Reptilian)

I've added an NPC guide in my 'GM' profile to help you remember who's who. I'll try to keep it updated as we move forward.

Cool this will help a lot! BTW what do you plan to do about the Grimmeh/Zelazny disappearance

Not much right now, honestly. I say the character remains in town for now so he can always rejoin you if he returns. If he doesn't, 5 players is fine too.

(Unknown Reptilian)

Once I wrap things up with Vermirl and Daviren, we'll move to the dinner at the Rusty Dragon. Feel free have your character arrive at the inn in advance if you wish so (poor Syeira is all alone).

Edit, Btw Venmirl:

One more thing I'd like to discuss a bit. So far, I like how the group initiative thing is working out but I'm not sure a d12 has enough variance to keep things interesting. I choose to use a 'smaller' dice so that a change in your initiative stat could have a bigger effect (in other words, to avoid that a higher bonus becomes almost insignificant with the averaging). In any case, I'm thinking I should go back to using a d20. I'm just not sure if I'll keep using the average bonus or if I should use the highest initiative bonus amongst the 'aware' characters on each side. Tell me what you guys think.

Well the only thing wrong with using group inits is it tends to penalize those who have high inits, like rogues, I would just use the d20 die, for a couple of times and see how it goes.

Not sure but did we actually lose init in every battle so far?

Yeah, but goblins usually have a good dex and a lot of them have improved initiative.

Hi, I've recently been accepted by Reptilian into the game. I'm very happy to be a player, and hope my character doesn't prove to be too annoying.
Reptilian, what should my starting gold be? Normally a 2nd-level character would have 1,000 gold pieces, if it helps. Should I halve that?

EDIT: Out of curiosity, Reptilian, would you say bagpipes exist in Golarion?
EDIT x2: After exhausting my calculator, it looks like the 'average' gold of 1,000gp. is the maximum divided by 1.71428 (etc). There's probably a much simpler way to figure that out, but that's what I got. How applicable this is is your choice.

A few things:

1. The others aren't at level 2 yet (they are about 1/2 way there), so create your character at level 1. You'll have the same xp as the others.
2. They also haven't found any major treasure, yet (hint btw, try to loot dead enemies, hehe) so I think it would be fair to have you start at the same gold they had (ie average money for lvl 1). For a rogue, that's 140 gp.
3. Bagpipes? Sure if you wish. It's probably a rare thing however, so double the cost for the common version (10 gp).
4. What's 1.71428? Is it e? My math is kinda rusty.
5. If you don't have access to the Bestiary, use this.

1.71428 is a number which is now moot. :P

Thanks for the info on my level, I'll lower it. And cool, I got bagpipes!
EDIT: Okay, here's what I got so far. I ran into a slight snag when deleveling, by the way. I'd used my Rogue Talent to get Weapon Finesse, and my feat to get Two-Weapon Fighting. Now, I lack the Rogue Talent, so I had to get rid of Two-Weapon Fighting (no way am I giving up that Dex bonus). I didn't want to lose my twin daggers, because I liked the idea, so now I just have very low bonuses. Guess that's what I get for having such an overpowered Dex. :P

Like the goblin :)

The stealth bonus at level 1 is enormous :D

Let's see how you get into the party with one of us losing a brother to those invading goblins :P

I've reviewed Darst quickly and there's a few errors/things you could add I noted (probably due to the 'deleveling'):
- Attack bonus should be +7 with the daggers (or +3/-1 for TWF).
- Will save should be +1
- HP should be 10 (rogues get d8s in Pathfinder) and, so, RP should be 5
- With the masterwork bagpipes, your perform is at +3
- For traps, your perception is +6

Other then that it looks pretty good.

I'll wait to see what you write as a background before I come up with your GM trait.

Heh, two-weapon fighting is looking a lot less attractive now.

About the comic, I had the same thought when reading it. I'll start working on my background immediately.
Reptilian, are rogues proficient with any of the weapons in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting?

EDIT: Yeah, I'm getting rid of the daggers and just getting a sickle. The main reason isn't actually the penalty, it's the fact that Darst tumbles around a lot, and doesn't like staying in one place for long, so two-weapon fighting isn't really worth the bother.

Well, the second level isn't too far away. As for PFCS weapons, I don't have my book right now, but I'd say all goblins are proficient with dogslicers. For any other, you'd have to ask.

Another thing I just thought of, I don't think you choose a favored class.

I did, Rogue, I just didn't mark it off. I put the point into skills.

I was thinking about the War razor, which is sort of a large flip knife. It's a Light weapon, and a bit more effective than a sickle. It's also a bit more interesting.

Oh, right. I guess I didn't count the skills properly the first time around.

As for the War Razor, I think Syeira has one and I never pointed that out to him/her so I'll rule that bards and rogues get proficiency with it for this game. It makes sense in any case.

So just about everyone is proficient in its use ...

Darst looks good to me too. Here's your trait:

Salvager: (Social) You've lived some time in extreme poverty and you had to salvage the junk and garbage of others to survive. You've become quite adept at finding useful things and modifying them to fit your need. With a move action, you can remove the attack penalty on an improvised weapon but only when you wield it yourself. Alternatively, pick 2 skills among the following: Appraise, Craft (any), Disable Device, Perception. You gain a +1 trait bonus on those 2 skills.

I'll try to integrate you character as soon as possible but it might still take some time.

No! I is nice goblin! I is your friend! No kill I, I goooood friend! Gooood friend!

Reptilian:
I don't mean to complicate things any more, or to give the party more reason to kill Darst, but I tohught it might be interesting if he was...involved...with Dramen's death. Not that he necessarily killed the boy, but perhaps the goblins who killed Dramen first found Darst, but he managed to chase them off (unfortunately in the direction of Naomi's brothers). Or maybe it was the opposite and Darst, while fleeing, accidentally led the goblins to the brothers.
I don't know, I thought it might lead to some interesting drama if the party finds out later on that he is somewhat responsible for Dramen's death. Especially considering the Calistria element...
