David,
Are there coyotes in this world? and do they have the same type of mythology behind them?
(Looking for a wise/curiosity spirit/animal/small god for my characters 'inspiration'.)
There might be coyotes in the world, it's not really clear. However as they have things like owls and colves and such, it would seem likely.

Davi, Can I have a Simhata? (p349)
(as my riding animal/horse)
On the character sheet it has a section for Merits and Flaws, where is this in the rulebook?
Ok, crunch done.
I need a motivation... could anyone suggest something for me?
Also, where is a good city to be from in the South?

You must have the 1E character sheet. Merits and Flaws are not used in 2E. They use Virtues instead, which are discussed on pgs. 75, 102-103, and 120. You would need to have either Resources 3 or Pat 3 to have simhata as a riding animal.

What's Pat 3?
So I can't find one in the wild and flash my anima at him? :)
Yeah, I guess it could be a 1e sheet. I found it on a fan site, grabbed it since it was form fillable. Made things easy.

Sorry I meant Pet 3. You could do the other, but that would have to happen in play.
fray(M carbon based dice form graphic guy 10 / geek 5 / collector 6 / daddy 2 / GM 4)
I don't see Pet anywhere?
Could it be an ally?
Under Ally it says each dot is as powerful as a starting char?
I took Ally 2 for the small god that I helped out in my background.
ooo.... Familiar 3 is what you meant?
fray(M carbon based dice form graphic guy 10 / geek 5 / collector 6 / daddy 2 / GM 4)
Ok, changed it to a horse. :)
What kind of equipment should we list?

Getting a Simhata will be fun to try to do in game.
How do you pick a Merit Flaw?
I'm also having trouble picking a Motivation... any suggestions?

Motivations are tough because they are something intensely personal. The same is true with virtue flaws. Both really go to the core of who and what your character is. Try taking some time to think about them and if you still need help tomorrow or Thursday I'll be happy to help you.

Is my char viable or did I make a 'squishy'?
(first exalted char... so I want to make sure she will be playable.)

You're missing your Attribute scores, so it's kind of hard to say. I would be a least a little concerned by any way whatsoever to increase your physical DVs - soak is nice, but not getting hit is better.

How can I increase my physical DV?

The easiest way is through an Excellency - either a Dodge one or a Martial Arts one, or both if you can afford it. Higher Charms are a lot more efficient at it, and of course eventually Exalted combat becomes all about the perfect effects, but to start out, getting at least one Excellency would be a really good idea.
fray(M carbon based dice form graphic guy 10 / geek 5 / collector 6 / daddy 2 / GM 4)
Does it matter if it's the first or second excellency?
(I was confused by them, which is why I didn't take one.)

For combat abilities, I generally prefer the First, but it's really up to you.
For the record, the reason why I like the First better is that it has a better potential for success than the flat 2m/1 success of the Second, and it can sometimes get a little extra oopmh out if the total of your Attribute + Ability happens to be an odd number.
For instance: using his sword, Hapushet's Parry DV is 5 (Dex 2 + Melee 3 + specialty 3 + defense 2 = 10, divided by 2 and rounded up) and his Attribute + Ability is also 5 (Dex 2 + Melee 3). With the Second Excellency, Hapushet would be limited to buying 2 successes for 4 motes, or getting +2 Parry DV (because it gives a +4 bonus to his Parry DV calculation, with is then divided by 2). However, with the First Excellency, he can spend 5m and increase the calculation of his Parry DV by 5, which gives him a +3 DV thanks to rounding. So he is slightly better off with the First Excellency than the Second.

For the first excellency, you spend motes to get more dice. For the second, you spend motes to get extra automatic successes. The ratios differ, but the purpose is similar overall.

Does it matter if it's Dodge or Martial Arts?
If it's MA does that also count as offense and defense?
If it's MA does that also count as offense and defense?
Dodge counts for the Dodge DV, Martial Arts count for the Parry DV. Martial Arts counts for both attacks and defense, but Dodge has one of the perfect defenses in it's charm tree. Since you don't have many ranks in Dodge and you don't need an excellency to get the perfect defense, I say Martial Arts.
EDIT: Oh, and I should be just about done with my sheet. I'll get to organizing it better later, but anyone feel like making sure I didn't mess anything up too badly?
David Fryer(Male Lesbian Cyborg Bastard Child of Paizo 18)
Keep up the good work folks. My house has been hit by a sudden wave of illness, so I have had trouble keeping up. It doen't look like I will be ready to start on Friday like I had planned.

Oh, and one more thing: your serpent sting staff - which Magical Material is it made of? You don't have any MM bonus applied to its stats; you should either mark it down as orichalcum and apply the oric bonus (+1 Acc, +1 Def, +1 Rate) or choose which other material it is instead. You can always pay double the attunement cost for another material to gain its bonuses, but you only get the oric ones for free.

oric = orichalcum?
Do you mean the other materials that only work for other Exalts?
I didn't know you could have an item made from a certain material if you were not that type of Exalt.

No, you can attune to other types of metal, it's just more difficult/expensive to attune to it properly. See the sidebar on page 382(385 in the pdf)
fray(M carbon based dice form graphic guy 10 / geek 5 / collector 6 / daddy 2 / GM 4)
The attunement costs count as committed Essence right?
fray(M carbon based dice form graphic guy 10 / geek 5 / collector 6 / daddy 2 / GM 4)
Where are the materials listed and what they do?
I looked in the index and found no 'material' or 'orichalcum'.

The effects are listed near the appropriate type of artifact. (The effects for melee weapons are after the artifact melee weapons, the effects for armor are before the artifact armor, etc.)

Cool... I'll check that and update my stats.

Not ready. But actively working on it. Finally gave up and printed about 200 pages of the pdf. For some reason every time I open Acrobat reader my computer crashes :/
So without all the waiting for my computer to restart between pages, I should have it done soon. I'm planning to work on it tonight, since my husband is gone I should actually get an interruption free evening.

Just need a little more time... will be bringing the books to the office.
lynora(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)
After an evening spent on it, I still have to finish backgrounds (about half done with that) and pick Charms. And I guess equipment. So I'll need another day or two, depending on whether the kidlet has to stay home sick tomorrow or not. If he does I won't be able to finish tomorrow most likely. If he doesn't then I will.
