Ditto here. Ready to go.

We'll start tomorrow.

(male halfling rogue 1)

Awesome!

Folks, I'm sorry, but some real life ambushed me. I'm gonna delay the game till saturday. By that time I'm gonna assign your covenant items. Once again, sorry for the delay.

(Male Human Bard 1/Ranger 1/Expert 3)

No worries. As mentioned previously, I'll likely be unable to post until the 17th or so anyway (but will try to pop in earlier, if I can). Real life has me pretty tied up as well...

The Bit! I chomp at it!

One final character question-

Spoiler:
We never really decided on if my pets were spirits or real, both, some of each, whatever.

I'm going to leave it up to you, Ragnar can't tell the difference between a spirit-animal and a real animal, but he's been traveling with his brother long enough to know something was up if his brother couldn't see them. just tell me what ragnar knows.

On the Metagame side, I'd like at least one of the ravens to be physical, because I plan on making it my familiar eventually.

In either case, I'd like Ragnar's "haunted aura" to be full of the distant sounds of wolves howling, ravens cawing, warriors fighting and children giggling.

What do you think?

Ragnar Death-Speaker wrote:

One final character question-

** spoiler omitted **

Ragnar:
Your wolves and ravens will be real animals. Your Animal Bond trait makes you very good with animals - but that has it's limits. I'm gonna assume that most of your animals will leave you, if they survive, by the time you reach 2nd level. They are wild animals, after all and they have a need of life closer to the natural cycle than yours. Now, I intend to give you a covenant item that will allow you to summon a spirit wolf, a kind of combination of Onyx Dog and astirax. I have some ideas for raven as well. By the time you reach 2nd level you should have a raven as familiar and wolf as companion, but I intend for you to have just one of each, if that's okay with you. Also, some things will happen during the game...

Before we start, everyone received their bonus feats?

One.

(male halfling rogue 1)

I didn't pick one. Are we all supposed to get one?

(Male Erunsil (Snow Elf) Fighter 5)

I have indeed

Pete the Runt wrote:

Just the ones with background. There's still time for you to write a background for your character, if you want bonus feat. It's not obligatory.

(male halfling rogue 1)

I did write a (brief) background, although I see I didn't put it in my profile:

Spoiler:
Background:
Before its destruction, Pete's tribe roamed the southern grasslands, dwindling in numbers every year due to orc raids. Pete's father Erik died when he was a boy, killed by a plains cat. From then on, he developed a morbid curiosity about the giant felines. He disdained the companionship of the halflings and wogren of his own clan and preferred to stray off on his own to spy on the creatures. On one occasion he came back from his nocturnal wanderings to find that his whole clan was dead or missing, presumably enslaved; the body of his mother Nora was hacked to pieces and his brother Zeb was nowhere to be found. Filled with fear and rage, he has fended for himself for years, making a living by scavenging the kills of the plains cats and by killing and looting any lone orc stragglers he comes across.

(Female Human, Sarcosan Ranger 1)

I also put up a background, but never got word on whether I got a bonus feat or not (of course, I never asked either).
Just let me know.

Pete and Zafina, your background is not detailed enough for me to decide what will your bonus feat be. I need something to go on.

(male halfling rogue 1)

In that case, I'm ready to go.

(Female Human, Sarcosan Ranger 1)

Well then, let's play! ;)

(male Dorn Barbarian 2, Spiritual Channeler 2)

Out of town without internet until the 19th. Hope I don't hold things up.

Ragnar Death-Speaker wrote:

We'll take things slow.

To all players - I have decided on covenant items for all of you, but I'll let you decide on their shape. They are made of white bone, and in the form of different objects. They can be sword pommels, belt buckles or whatever. They work slightly different than usual - your characters don't know that those things are covenant items or that they have any powers. The items will wake up during the game. The first post in the game will be up in an hour or so.

Game thread is up. Ragnar and his brother are waiting by the fire. All of you have come from different sides of the continent and do not know each other, but you feel a certain connection. Your covenant items are in fact drawing you together, of course, but your characters are not aware of that and not even aware that they posses covenant items.

If you make a post on a thread under your main profile it will add a dot to the posts on the game thread. just makes it easier to find posts that you have been posting on. My "Craft Dots" thread is just a goofy way of adding my dot.

It's a joke. Mr. Scranford wanted to see a dot next to the thread's name, so he posted in the thread using his "scranford" identity.

EDIT: Ooh...ninja'ed by 27 seconds!

Oh, thanks.

Hi everyone,

I'm building a character to join you and provide a little solace to your weary souls. My initial concept is that of an Erenlander midwife/witch with the healer heroic path.

I'm currently writing the background and will soon come with an avatar and character sheet.

Llaelian

P.S. Hi again, Scranford and Eric. Tsar will soon be ours ;-)

Cheliax (male (despite all the female characters I play...:P) Human (he he))

Sure, if we can get out of the Camp, he he.

Back to buisness

Nightflier, here is a quick background of my proposed PC. If it's okay with you, I will create the profile, character sheet and expand the background.

Gilian is a young woman with long dark hair and dark eyes. She wears plain clothes stained with green and brown and carries a well used quarterstaff to fend off unwanted attention or beasts. She was raised in a small village in the Eren plains in a familly where women were known to have healing hands. When she was 14, a legate and his cohorts raided the village, drawn by the stories on her mother gift and took her away. Lucily, she escaped this dreadly fate as she was out, gathering herbs. To protect herself, she decided to live away from the village, but to continue providing services for her communauty.
Deep in her heart, she knows her mother is dead and has vowed to fight the blight with her weapons, providing succor when she can.

In the last year, she has experienced vivid dreams of unblemished plains, free of the corruption and has discovered she could draw on the earth magic as well as on her soothing hands. Her last dreams were of figures, standing in an half-circle and she felt a strong urge to join them. The next day, as she woke up, she saw smoke in the direction of her village. Moving towards it, she realized that it had been razed by a huge party of Orcs during the night. With dry eyes and nothing to keep her there, she packed her meager belongings and followed her dreams...

i like the basic concept. There are some things you need to know:

The game is 28 point buy.

Erenlanders do not suffer -2 penalty to ability score.

All the feat and skill bonuses apply, but we use Pathfinder skills.

You can choose two traits subjected to my approval from following sources: Pathfinder products, Iron Heroes and, of course, Destiny and Shadow. If you use Destiny and Shadow, you do not have to sacrifice a feat or anything else in order to gain traits as long as you choose only two.

I tend to award detailed and well thought out backgrounds with bonus feat.

Is it 28 points with the Midnight point value or the Pathfinder (i.e does a 10 costs 2 points or nothing) ?

Llaelian wrote:

Standard Pathfinder point buy, except it's 28 points.

(Female Erenlander Spiritual Chaneller 5)

Character is mainly up. I still need to work on some basics like feats and equipment.

The background has not been expanded yet but I will do it before entering the game.

I took sacred touch as a feat. I know that there should not be religion feats but I thought it would go well with the healer heroic path.

(Female Erenlander Spiritual Chaneller 5)

Okay, all done except equipment. Can you review it?

I should also have a bone item as well, shouldn't I? If so, I would like it to be a bone amulet.

Is atharak exotic weapon? If it is, you can have Exotic weapon proficiency as bonus feat. If not, you can choose a bonus feat but you have to work it in your background.

(Female Erenlander Spiritual Chaneller 5)

nightflier wrote:

From the weapon bond trait, you gain the proficiency for that weapon even if it is exotic. That would mean a single trait would give you both an exotic weapon proficiency and a bonus to attack and damage. I did not think of it but it seems awfully broken. So I'll take exotic weapon proficiency with the atharak.

On the gaming side, how do you want me to enter the game ? Shall I jump in right now, arriving late to the meeting ?

Let me read the trait once more. If it's written like that, than that's the way it works.

I've read the trait. It allows you to choose exotic weapon. You can have another bonus feat, just work it in your background. You can use feats from any d20 source, including Iron HEroes.

It's ok little one, Ragnar can wear you as a backpack. A backpack full of healing-juice!

I vote you be a Dorn instead of an Erenlander. If we can get 5 of us we form captain planet.

/episode.

Hi, Ragnar, you're back from your trip? I hope you like the game so far.

(Female Erenlander Spiritual Chaneller 5)

Okay, all done.

I've changed a few things to fit the numbers to the background :
- changed 16 dex to 14 dex, 14 cha.
- took Natural healer feat (midnight) as background feat.
- swapped Sacred touch trait wivh overlapped with Natural healer for short trait from Iro Heroes. Basically, the characer becomes small instead of medium. I thought it would help the relashonship with halflings and elflings.
- moved i skill point to linguistics to speak halfling .

With that, I'm ready to go.
