Buckshot here

Energy Controller as well but i feel it's different enough from Arc to not step on his toes

Should i go ahead and post in game?

Sounds good, go ahead. For my own curiosity and to know what kind of roleplay opportunities we have. What's the theme of your guy? Like how do his powers tie together/make sense?

I need to head out so I'll double check it when I get back but you can start posting.

(Male Human Paladin, 6)

Arc won't complain. He's a good-natured old coot. :D

By the way, I've noticed you referring to characters as "Blasters" and "Controllers". Have you played City of Heroes at all? The lingo is familiar.

...g%$ d+@mit, I just got a fresh urge to create my old CoH character in the LHC universe. Me and my big mouth.

*EDIT: Buckshot, your being a cosmic controller is pretty epic. Now LAY DOWN A STORY! We need an epic personality to equal epic powers. :D

No crazy magic katana for you!

Actually, Buckshot, looking over your powers again what rank do you have Disintegration and Animate Object at? Remember

pg. 108 wrote:
The Alternate Power cannot have a total cost greater than the primary power. So a rank 10 primary power costing 20 power points can have any Alternate Power with a cost of 20 power points or less.

So Rank 12 Cosmic Power Control (24pp) could give you;

Rank 12 Healing (24pp)
Rank 8 Animate Object (24pp)
Rank 6 Disintegrate (24pp)

Just making sure you know you don't get 12 ranks of a 4pp power for half the cost.

I think your pp's spent on powers might be off too. You have 64 up top but;
CEC 12 = 24pp
CEC feats = 3pp
Flight 6 = 12pp
Field w/xtra 10 = 20pp
=59pp

Also missing your saves other then Toughness in the sheet.

This is the way I meant it, I'll make changes to the sheet to make it more clear,

Ah, I had Immunity(Cosmic Energy)[5pp] but i forgot to transcribe it to the alias-I'll fix it.

D'oh! I'll fix that too.

Excellent!

We're all off on Wednesday so ironically we're usually off playing D&D in RL rather then on the boards.

Cheliax (RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16, 2011 Top 32)

I don't suppose you have any room left in the game, mm?

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Unless someone drops I think we're good with 4. Too many in Mutants and Masterminds and it get's too simple to solve every problems, somebody is bound to have whatever power is needed to instantly solve it.

I think the four current ones are pretty solid but feel free to follow the story in case something come up!

Collider I hate you so much.

(Male Human Power rank 10)

what?

Dangit, I hate when I post under the wrong alias. It always seems like that Edit button just doesn't last long enough.

Hurray for zaney hijicks! I love the crazy things you can come up with as super heros.

(Male Human Paladin, 6)

I REALLY should have invested some skill points in Computer Use...

(Male Human Commoner 20)

wait... you can link up with computers and you can't? then again I guess I am a super spy with no ranks in it. If we level most of my points would go to skills as he recovers some of his scrambled memories. not that leveling ever really happens in M&M games.

You gain PP through adventuring along with Hero Points and at certain times the power level is raised allowing you a new max limit. You'll all receive a certain amount of PP after this mission.

By the way Marshall, we're doing the pathfinder thing and combining Search and Notice together to be Perception.

(Male Human Commoner 20)

Ahh, by the way Cody... where were you yesterday? I wanted to give you a couple of minis to paint and hand off the actual kingmaker book and the guide to the river kingdoms but you were MIA. I left them at your desk.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

I think I got food poisoning from Taco Time or something, was not pleasant. So I called off.

By the way, remember you all start off with one hero point and the uses for them are listed on Pg. 121.

(Male Human Paladin, 6)

Yeah. I think the next few power points I get are getting funneled into Computer Use and Machine Control. It sucks, but it really rams home the concept that our characters didn't get to hand-pick their powers for a theme that suits them. It all just sort of happened.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Ugh, I'm so bored at work today. *pokes participants* Do something, lol. You have my never ending attention.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Looks like we'll have some combat if Craig and MM post up soon.

Warms up the dice engine
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

That's a good sign right?

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Hey guys, I just added in initiatives for you so you'll know who's acting when rather then rolling it such. Just to speed things up and give you an idea of who goes when.

Just a reminder M&M assumes that you're using non-lethal attacks and so I'll do the same as well unless you explicitly mention you're aiming to kill.

If anyone is curious about the Autofire the guards used it's a pretty nifty ability. You take the amount you succeed on your attack roll and add it to the damage DC max +10. Expect lots of twists and turns with combat as M&M allows for all sorts of fun ways to overcome obstacles.

Also is everyone enjoying themselves? Any critiques or comments so far?

Oh, Buckshot. The last two guards aren't in sight yet, they rolled really low on initiative so they'll come in after you guys have all acted on this second round, unless you want to ready an action to blast when they come through. Basically the other two were within a single move of the arch.

You guys knocked out the other four efficiently.

(Male Human Commoner 20)

Bah... a 2... well thats good to be standing next to a guy with a gun isn't it? Huh, since I have turnabout maybe it's a good idea to get out of there.

Just waiting on Durus and I'll have another round ready.

Haha, I love the thought of six guards appearing in the Ambulance lane of a hospital.

Buck and Durus for round 2 vs. the SU16 soldiers?

Also that's proving to be a surprisingly effective flashbang grenade ^^

Boy you guys really have it out for the staggered dude. I suppose he is really really easy to hit though. You know you can do a combined attack that adds +2 damage bonus to the highest damaging person so long as the bonus from your attacks are within 5 points of each other.

Example. Durus, Collider, and Arc all hit SU-16-1 declaring a combined attack;
I want to delay and combine this attack with so and so.

Then if all three hit, the DC on Durus's all-out power attack would be 34. That's a tough save to make.

Of course each individual attack does add the bruised condition, and can have the fun flare of conditions and what not. Just something I wanted to bring up while you guys are ganging up on a guy.

(Male Human Commoner 20)

Hey at least i'm not blind anymore. I suppose it would make sense to add my attack to Durus's to try and knock that one out, then we can focus on another one.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Sorry for the slight disruption just moved into a new apartment. Getting the internet up and running. Good news is going from a 3mbs line to a 7mbs line.

(Male Human Paladin, 6)

Now I want to charge Durus' body with electricity and have Collider drop him on a guy.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4)

Hey MementoMori, is there a chance I could get your e-mail address? The others are all my real life friends so they're easy for me to get a hold of. You can catch me at kronvet at gmail dot com.

Also Combined Attack works just like you described.

I just read through the section on Knockback turns out if you suffer worse then a bruised condition you're knocked prone and sent flying a short distance if your opponent chooses. For simplicities sake please let me know if you want an attack to inflict Knockback and I'll assume you don't by default. This can be useful for positioning or for knocking a foe into a wall where they will take extra damage.

Sure thing

Hey guys, Just a warning that my posting will likely be nonexistent this weekend. I'm playing a show tonight and I'm going down to Tennessee to play a show tomorrow night so there's a good chance I wont have a chance to post. Feel free to dmnpc Buckshot as necessary!

-MM

No problem at all. Thanks a lot for the heads up!

Who's your band?

Mastermind wrote:

No News Is Bad News

We havent done anything as a band since before Christmas though. It's an acoustic band, just me and my buddy with a couple of guitars and I sing. Right now I'm just performing solo though, as my second guitarist goes to college about 3 hours away from me. Check us out if you'd like though.

I'll have the next round up tonight. A certain someone will have to be on auto-pilot again :P

(Male Human Commoner 20)

come on Cody, post.

Kk, I'll continue the show when I get home. I need to see what I can do to encourage Craig...

(Male Human Paladin, 6)

Are we still playing? O_o

Lol, yeah, sorry i was kind of tipsy last night, typed up a big long reply and then the forum goon ate it. So I said eff it and went to bed.
