(Male Human Fighter 4)

He's ready, except for background, will have that up today.

That's fine. You can have a think about what might have taken you to the gnomes' festival, and once the others get close enough you can join in.

(Male Human Fighter 4)

Aelden has rented a small hand cart to take some of his wares to the Festival. His heart isn't really into it this year, and he drives forward with a heavy tread.

As he gets closer to the Festival, he can hear the sounds, see the colorful pavilions, and he knows that this will be his last visit here as an armorsmith...

Well, perhaps something that fires his passion will happen soon ;)

I'm aware that the common consensus about combat is that it can kill a pbp game because everything starts to slow down if one person needs to act. While this isn't a fight, it shares some elements in that there will be a lot of to and fro between characters and/or NPCs. So, I've seen various 'solutions' to the problem, and I'm going to experiment with trying to keep the action flowing and have some out of time sequences so nobody (should) be waiting long to be able to act.

In preparation for the festivities, can all of you roll me 10 sets of 10d20 but keep them in one post. Like this:

10d20 ⇒ (19, 20, 5, 13, 6, 19, 2, 7, 6, 11) = 108
10d20 ⇒ (7, 19, 6, 16, 14, 7, 4, 7, 6, 7) = 93
10d20 ⇒ (20, 18, 4, 16, 13, 3, 5, 16, 6, 18) = 119
10d20 ⇒ (12, 16, 6, 20, 4, 16, 6, 17, 19, 13) = 129
10d20 ⇒ (12, 8, 7, 5, 5, 19, 10, 15, 1, 14) = 96
10d20 ⇒ (9, 1, 19, 6, 17, 12, 1, 11, 1, 3) = 80
10d20 ⇒ (9, 1, 20, 5, 13, 8, 8, 13, 9, 19) = 105
10d20 ⇒ (5, 11, 3, 17, 8, 2, 9, 11, 20, 8) = 94
10d20 ⇒ (3, 17, 14, 10, 20, 16, 5, 10, 15, 4) = 114
10d20 ⇒ (20, 7, 19, 4, 13, 16, 8, 11, 8, 12) = 118

Whenever the need for a roll comes up, I'll randomly generate 2 d10's to determine row and column, and use that to determine the result of your action. As I can't edit anyone else posts (or my own after 1 hour), rather than discard any numbers that come up from future rolls, I'll continue to use the whole set for actions.

If it all goes horribly wrong then I'll have a re-think!

As an extra to my last post, I'm also going to steal something from one of the games I am playing in, namely that unless there is a specific need for me to ask you to roll, I'm assuming you are all effectively taking 10 on Perception checks at all times. If the DC of a check is such that taking 10 means you can't succeed, then that's an example of where I will ask for a roll.

I'm also inclined to use the 'auto take 10' for Knowledge checks, but with the same rider that if that isn't enough, then I'll call for a roll from you. Knowledge check are still trained only though.

(Male Human Cleric 2/Rogue 2)

I like both of your ideas, Grufflehead.

Here are my 10d20 rolls:

10d20 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 14, 16, 13, 4, 8, 8, 13) = 88
10d20 ⇒ (19, 10, 12, 19, 12, 7, 2, 15, 1, 8) = 105
10d20 ⇒ (10, 10, 18, 9, 11, 14, 10, 12, 13, 11) = 118
10d20 ⇒ (16, 17, 15, 20, 19, 7, 7, 12, 2, 18) = 133
10d20 ⇒ (16, 1, 16, 12, 16, 7, 4, 14, 14, 9) = 109
10d20 ⇒ (9, 18, 11, 8, 3, 9, 10, 9, 18, 7) = 102
10d20 ⇒ (2, 18, 11, 8, 17, 15, 16, 11, 6, 15) = 119
10d20 ⇒ (20, 2, 19, 13, 1, 13, 1, 11, 15, 16) = 111
10d20 ⇒ (6, 17, 14, 16, 18, 16, 3, 18, 2, 11) = 121
10d20 ⇒ (8, 7, 18, 12, 6, 12, 16, 4, 9, 9) = 101

(Male Elf Wizard 4)

Sounds good. Time to rattle some bones.

10d20 ⇒ (20, 2, 8, 15, 10, 15, 8, 4, 18, 8) = 108
10d20 ⇒ (10, 7, 18, 1, 7, 9, 1, 4, 14, 9) = 80
10d20 ⇒ (15, 10, 10, 11, 5, 7, 3, 19, 16, 2) = 98
10d20 ⇒ (3, 3, 14, 9, 12, 1, 4, 17, 18, 8) = 89
10d20 ⇒ (19, 5, 7, 10, 18, 5, 11, 20, 18, 2) = 115
10d20 ⇒ (6, 2, 17, 12, 9, 1, 6, 9, 12, 7) = 81
10d20 ⇒ (1, 1, 7, 15, 3, 12, 16, 2, 20, 8) = 85
10d20 ⇒ (10, 10, 13, 10, 16, 13, 10, 12, 4, 1) = 99
10d20 ⇒ (12, 5, 16, 4, 1, 14, 18, 11, 1, 14) = 96
10d20 ⇒ (12, 18, 5, 13, 10, 7, 19, 5, 17, 19) = 125

(Male Elf Wizard 4)

Oh, and I'll take the skill points this time.

(Male Human Fighter 4)

Alrighty

10d20 ⇒ (19, 17, 18, 15, 10, 12, 11, 5, 10, 14) = 131
10d20 ⇒ (19, 20, 12, 18, 6, 19, 16, 1, 12, 12) = 135
10d20 ⇒ (1, 5, 11, 14, 11, 1, 9, 9, 1, 15) = 77
10d20 ⇒ (18, 2, 11, 15, 10, 19, 19, 9, 9, 4) = 116
10d20 ⇒ (7, 8, 9, 17, 2, 3, 6, 8, 11, 5) = 76
10d20 ⇒ (17, 9, 8, 13, 2, 14, 17, 15, 11, 13) = 119
10d20 ⇒ (1, 18, 18, 18, 7, 6, 4, 11, 5, 13) = 101
10d20 ⇒ (13, 10, 17, 11, 16, 2, 13, 8, 4, 8) = 102
10d20 ⇒ (9, 4, 17, 1, 14, 17, 12, 18, 9, 16) = 117
10d20 ⇒ (17, 5, 17, 10, 19, 4, 18, 1, 7, 7) = 105

I'll take the skill points.

(Male Elf Wizard 4)

Woe is me! I just realized I missed post 300 by one post!

(Male Human Cleric 2/Rogue 2)

It's OK. We'll try to save post 400 for you... ; )
