Hey folks. Got up early today thanks to an annoying Boston Terrier who demanded to go out.

This fight seems to be wrapping up, unless you catch the fleeing archers. Since we are playtesting the rules, how did y'all think it went? According to my weak crunch-fu this was a ECL4 fight, about one level higher than it should have been. I think y'all did very well regardless. Do you feel like the fight was weak? Or did it have the right balance? I deliberately ratcheted up the difficulty, but you all seemed to get through OK (despite Sondergang's wounding). Do you feel 1/4 of the party's resources were spent?

Let's see,2 1st level spells were used so in that respect we met the quarter. Think it went pretty well. Definitely seeing the difference Pathfinder makes for casters with the ability to make a magical attack and not have it cost a spell each round.

All in all enjoying it thoroughly so far.

We had a huge tactical advantage with the defensive setup. If we had been out in the open, it could have gone alot worse.

True, the +4 cover did make a difference. Out in the open is never a good place to be in Orc territory. It also helped that you smoked the infantry so quickly, the archers decided "F this I'm outta here!"

Yes. One person (usually the first to see the attack) rolls a D20. The initatives are then built off that roll. It works a lot cleaner in PbP.

ya know in the pbp I run I have tried a flat 10 with everyone adding there modes to it. You loose a bit of randomness but everyone knows who acts first and for a pbp it speeds things up greatly.
