Say whatever you want about ECL, but it has put an end to the AD&D "matching HD" b*!*%%%~. I had a M who felt comletely justified in dropping two huge red dragons on us because "they are 11 HD each and you are 5th level. As there are five of you, that's 25 HD vs. 22 HD - hell, you should have beaten them". (actual quote).

Also, the leadup to this fight makes me wonder what highbrow troll humour sounds like...

I can always throw yet another troll at Stiggy; I can't "un-TPK" him.

I think that's what Conan would do. No need to actually escape until you're in the hands of a vile cult or an evil sorcerer.

Or, Kirk, fighting the Gorn, with everybody else watching on the viewscreen of the Enterprise.

Whelp, now that I'm a successful pbp dm, I guess I should get around to bashing Tolkien.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

LOL!
I guess a thousand times during this solo vignette, I thought I knew what I was gonna do, and a thousand times over I had to change my mind(?)

Hey if you need Stiggy to be out-of-play for a bit while the others organize no problem!

All she has to do is sit him in the corner with a barrel of rum.

(lol) more like a lil time to figure out exactly what's going down....I've been skanking this whole thing.

I had a cool visit from the muse last night though.

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

AM on call fri-sat-sun;
if I'm not around, that's where I am.

Guess since I might be working a lot or not,....I'll try to get some stuff built steada sitting around spamming the waytoolong thread, assuming that I'm not working a lot.

I got a houseful of guys this weekend, playing in the Mwangi Expanse so I should reach civilisation some time on Sunday. Hopefully after a Brit wins the Aussie Open Tennis.

Cheers

Meh, he's Scottish and hates us. He can get stuffed as far as I am concerned.

He's growing on me. Less of a tight-arse these days. And you want Mr Exciting Federer to win? Yawn give me Murray any day.

Qadira (No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30)

I still can't take to Murray. He has a sulky look that makes me want to slap him. Or get someone else to do it, since he is a lot taller than me.

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

heh heh....time to learn me up about some tennis.....

"fault!"

On call starting from 6:00 pm friday night until 6:00am monday morning.
Youngest one's fever started......5:00pm friday night.
That is ever the timing of it.
It'll be allright, just a real pain in the arse.

So, since I'm allready called in to work tomorrow morning, looks like an exciting weekend for yours truly. Prolly won't be about much tonite or tomorrow; maybe tomorrow evening. Who knows; I'm on call then too, and another kid could break his arm or something. I'm on call, after all. Murphy's law sucks my butt!!!!!

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

i.e. just a friendly note so's youse all don't expect much outta my yap box for the next day or so.

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

Woo hoo! Just pharyngitis.... I love it when it gets handled quicklike.
I think I'll go chill out and vegetate in the meatworld a bit.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Tennis... Meh. It might be great exercise, but as for watching it - not so much.

We have a horned owl living in a park right next to our house, and I just spent an hour or so there watching it watching my dog chasing down frisbees. The owl seemed completely fascinated and mystified that anyone would expend so much energy chasing a round plastic plate - and who can blame it? Good times!

Damn. Disolcated thumb and pinky. Dumbass old lady walked in front of me while commuting and I had to do some manooverin, and the cost of my digits.

F!@$ it's hard to trigger shift without a working thumb

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

Ouch!

The Swiss won the tennis again. Not my favourite sport, but I guess I like them all, especially when a Brit goes to the final. Shame, he was playing a tennis god.

Good luck Kruelaid, I always watched out for the use of umbrellas and briefcases in London. They were dangerous.

Good holiday Mothman?

Cheers

Yes, it was great thanks. Very relaxing, good weather, good food. Went to Vanuatu. Lots of time lazing on the beach.

Cool!
(I have NO idea where or what 'Vanatu' is, but if there's a beach involved, it gets a good grade in MY book!) :)

Welcome back Moth!

EDIT- And food! Good food is ALWAYS a plus! :D

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Vanuatu is a small nation spread out over several (dozens?) small islands in the Pacific Ocean. I guess the culture would be described as Polynesian or Melenesian. It's about 3-4 hours by plane from Sydney. It's near New Caledonia.

Cool.
I learned something new today!

Hm,... is a vacate there 'affordable'? (As compared to more well-known touristy destinations?) Because I'm all about an Island vacation!

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Oooooo.... Did Stig just meet T'zzird, the comfortably evil drow? Stay tuned, y'all!

Well, it’s affordable from here (in Sydney) – I don’t know, the airfares might kill it from where you are. All the tourists there were either Aussies or New Zealanders (and a few French) – no Americans that I met, which might suggest it’s a bit too far for the average American to travel.

I also went during cyclone season (fortunately there were no cyclones while I was there) which made the accommodation costs a bit more affordable.

Wah....you didn't think I wouldn't try to lampoon that, didja?!?

Guys, still getting bearings with new schedule. Assume Pip will sing for his supper, and maybe throw a l-bolt or two if needed...

You got a new new job, Patrick?

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

I think Pat's doing census.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAGGY!!!

Temporary job finding out how many Murrkins dwell on our lovelery sandbar. So far I have discovered we have quite a large expat Russian community here, who knew? Probably find our state's government comfortably familiar ...

Hey, at least it's something! Having been in the position of "I have something in two months, but I have to make a living until then" scenario, I feel for you! :)

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

Hey, Kruely; are you on vacation in Manila? I saw it on the FAWTL; was gonna ask there, but then I saw you saying "goodnight" so the next time you'll see that thread it'll be 500 nigh unreadable posts longer.

Andoran (Manwolf Werewoof upper middle class twit 5)

Oh;
I'm on call TODAY from now till 8p.m. (it's 9:25 am where I am)
and I'm on call Tomorrow through Sunday; so I'll either be here, or I won't; never know until the beeper chirps out its halcyon summons.

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Happy Birthday Ragadolf. Do anything good?

Thx! It's only my 29th bday!
(Oh, ok. My 15th, 29th birthday!)
;P

I worked, unfortunately. But had a lovely bday lunch out with the family on Sat. So it's all good.
Oh! And presents! I think I now own every season of SMALLVILLE! I can veg for DAYS,... if I ever actually get any time off,... :)

(Expert 3/Slacker 4/Layabout 2)

Congratulations, youngster! Many happy returns.

Oh, and it must be pretty wild down your way today. Is the city still standing?

I watched the whole game this morning. Those Saints played very good, never thought they would beat Peyton Manning but that on-side kick had me jumping and cheering for the Saints.

Wish it could have been the Packers though....

Well done and Happy Birthday Rags.

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Huzzah - for both Rags and the Saints!

'Thenk yew! Thenk Yew!'

As far as I KNOW, New Orleans is still standing. Such as it is.
(I actually live 2 hours away now! YAY!)

HOWEVER,... On the radio this morning they announced that the party in the Quarter (That's the "French Quarter" to you non-residents) was STILL going on, and that they had pretty much just declared an early start to Mardi Gras, and were going into Carnival police mode.

Heheh, thx!

(You DID realize that I'm forcing you all to do math, right? This is my 15th, 29th bday. Though I still think of myself as young, you have to add those together!) ;P

Speaking of all that - I'll be in New Orleans from this Saturday until next Sunday morning. Want to meet up and have a brew?

Aw man, that would be awesome!

Unfortunately, I live in LAfayette, which is 2 hours away. While I can make that drive, usually to visit the in-laws, I have to be in a REEEEELY crazy mood to fight all the Mardi Gras insanity!

Spoiler:

(Which means I'll see if the wife wants to go visit her family and catch a New Orleans parade, in which case, yes, I'd luv too!) ;P

:D

Andoran (Male Human Expert 5)

Yeah, I guess the traffic might be a little worse than usual during Mardi Gras. Just a little bit...
