Still here, sleeping time in my timezone. :P

Anyway, I'm thinking fighter, since the niche isn't filled yet. I think? Plus I really want to. Haha. I'll form up a character in a bit.

Very rough outline of my character. A Taldan mercenary who for reasons unknown to me (for now), will be joining up.

PS. do we roll for hp?

(Male Human Rogue 4)

Iann Malaque wrote:

He wouldn't, I'm sure, be in the hire of a crime lord in Oppara who Rall ticked off?

(male half-elf druid 4)

My druid is going to be interested in rocks, dirt and a bit of hero worship of the most dashing deputy in town.

Character rolls:
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 2) = 16

4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 1) = 8

4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 5) = 21

4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 6) = 18

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 1) = 13

4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4) = 13

I'm thinking a dwarven priest of Torag from Highhelm looking into the dwarven ruins in the area.

So: 14, 7, 16, 17, 12, 12

This could be good.

I'll get it together and post here shortly.

(M Human (Badawi) Ranger 7)

Hi,

Here's the initial bits for Truddig. I'm sorry, but I'll try and finish it up tonight or in the morning if I can't.

(Male Human Rogue 4)

Rall's hit dice (1d8 + 0 for CON +1 for favored class)

Level 3: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Level 4: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

EDIT: Wow! That is SO Rall!

(Male Human Rogue 4)

For those new to this thread, Rall is the unluckiest rogue on earth. I believe he rolled a one last time and Wicht told me to re-roll so here goes:

Level 3: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Level 4: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

(male half-elf druid 4)

Hit dice for Millbank: 3d8 ⇒ (6, 4, 7) = 17

Hitdice for Iann Malaque: 3d10 + 10 + 12 ⇒ (3, 7, 8) + 10 + 12 = 40

Rall Kirnast wrote:

I doubt it, he's out of work at the moment. Or is he? Dun dun dun!

(M Human (Badawi) Ranger 7)

Hit Points for Truddig: 3d8 + 8 + 16 ⇒ (4, 1, 7) + 8 + 16 = 36

Also, what would be our starting equipment? Level 4 heroes from the PFRPG core? And, would we be able to buy magic equipment with that?

Thanks.

I think when I rolled Rall up, we used bonus feats. I think James said that one feat was basically equivalent to two traits. Shall I just keep Rall's 'Cityborn' feat or look for two traits?

That's fine - I don't think it will make a lot of difference in the long run.

Sorry to everyone for not being in the thread more - we're having some internet troubles (I can only connect when I'm on the phone). I'm calling comcast now - so I currently am typing while I'm on hold. Hopefully I can get my internet sorted out today.

Osirion (Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3)

Let's allow the new characters about 4000 in starting gold.

The original characters haven't exactly gotten wealthy from their explorations nor are they rolling in magical items. So 4000 should make sure the new characters don't outstrip Rall by too much in terms of power. :)

(male half-elf druid 4)

O.K., I'll buy some stuff then.

Does Rall have any magic items?

There were some magical items taken from the last two fights. I'll have to get a list put together for you guys. My internet is working again now so I should be caught back up shortly.

(Male Troll Expert 3, Warrior 1)

If you wanted the axe I'll let you take it. I'm sure Bowen misses his scimitar.

The treasure available to those who finished our previous chapter includes:

[Heart-ripper blade (evil magic knife)
cloak of resistance +2
crown of the kobold king (+2 AC, +2 charisma, +1 to sorcerer CL, immune to dragon's frightful presence) (The party could sell this for 8000 gp)
+1 battle ax
+ 600 gp each for survivors representing loot and rewards.

Rall took the crown and the battle-ax from the kobold king. The other two items were from the kobold sorcerer. The Gavel gives each member 500 gp and they sold various loot for enough to have +100 gp each (so 600 total)

Terry Dyer wrote:

As a martial weapon, it does Rall no good. He'd rather have the cloak of resistance. I can't imagine any of us wearing the crown of the kobold king around town so I'm in favour of selling that. Is the knife worth keeping for those days when ripping out someone's heart may be the lesser of two evils?

(male half-elf druid 4)

Actually, upon further reflection I think I've probably got enough games on my plate right now, so I'll bow out before you get underway. Good luck with the game!

(RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16)

I still need to updated my sheet with equipment, I keep putting it off because I haven't seen any movement in the thread. I hope this isn't dying as it gets going.

(Male Human Rogue 4)

Bowen,

Will you take the axe? Can I have the cloak? Will we sell the crown?

I'm just slow in getting to it. My internet being out last week threw me a bit. I'm good to go and ready to make sure our characters are in line.

Just to make sure I am up to speed we have:

Rall
Bowen
Iann
Ildri
and Truddig.

Is that correct?

And Rall and Bowen still need to decide how to split the loot (if you sell the crown just assume you have 2000 gp each from it.)

Thats what I thought so I haven't been to stressed to get this character done. I've have an unusually busy weekend at work so I will try to get Ildri done by Monday.

Sounds good to me.

I will try to start the story in the game thread either Monday or Tuesday, depending on which day the family heads to the Science Center for a field trip.

(M Human (Badawi) Ranger 7)

I'd been keeping an eye on this thread, but hadn't really come up with a good back story for Truddig yet, and I'm second guessing my expenditures. I'll try and get that done by ned of the day tomorrow. Been a very hectic weekend.

Everything should be done and I am ready to go whenever the group is.

Starting Hp I took max at first level rolled 3d8 + 1 hp for lvls 2-3 for favored class. 8+16+3=27.

Starting HPs lvl 4 character (1d8=2, 1d8=6, 1d8=8)

Its acceptable to me to make it up as you go along, just so long as you know the general reason you are in town.

Who else is not ready? I am ready to go, more or less, but I can hold off until all the equipment has been bought.

(Male Troll Expert 3, Warrior 1)

Bowen still has the glitteraxe, don't really need a second axe so we could sell it or let one of the new comers take it.
As for the cloak Rall looked so good in it Bowen figures it may help him stay alive just a little bit longer. Though he did last longer then all the other people we had with us at the start.

(Male Human Rogue 4)

If you'll allow it, Rall has purchased a bag of holding and stuffed pretty much everything he owned into it. Then, he went shopping. Anyone need a 10' pole?

Osirion (Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3)

Sorry I fell off again - my new router quit broadcasting a signal so I had little internet again yesterday. This morning I went ahead and just ran and spent the money for a solid line to run from the router to the main computer. So while I still have no wifi in the house, I do have a stable connection and it shouldn't be a problem again.

I'll be starting the next story line here shortly.

A bag of holding is fine.

Osirion (Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3)

You guys can check back into the game thread now.

Should we, the new characters join in as if we are in the bar, or should we wait for an introdcution post?

Ildri Safara wrote:

Aye. Not sure how you wish to have this come in.

You're in the sitting duck. Introduce yourself however you want.

(RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16)

Ildri has entered the sitting duck.

Qadira (RPG Superstar 2009 Top 8)

Rall's there.

Guys, I'm sorry, but I think I'm going to have to bow out of this. RL has been hitting me hard the last week or two, and I won't have time to really put into a new game with everything else. Sorry to have had this strung out like this.

Thanks for the opportunity though.

Gah. RL took me some time, completely lost track of this. Iann Malaque is joining the fray.

(Male Troll Expert 3, Warrior 1)

The Chronicler

Spoiler:
I was wondering if I could do some searching to see if I could find any remains of our lost companions. Just as a flavor thing I know the players are gone just kind of doing more for the character side of things. Will do some searching and general survival checks to see if they lived or what happend to them. Will do rolls if needed. Also would I be able to put in an order for a +1 mithral shirt?

"Sure." Ibram shrugged, putting his pack on and moving to follow Rall and the others.

Rall follows the lumberjack, grateful to know that if he falls, someone much larger will be there to catch him.

Okay, that was weird. I posted the post above in the game thread and something else in the discussion thread but my discussion thread post when completely missing and that one appeared here. It's like the post monster swallowed one and regurgitated it elsewhere.

Rall was built using 3.5 point buy as we started this game before the alpha rules came out in March. I never converted his ability stats only his class abilities. Can I upgrade him to a PRPG point buy? Right now he's only about 24 points by PRPG.

Make sure you give him a better Constitution for all those Fortitude saving throws he fails against poison, disease, etc.

Yeah - if you want. Did you give him his +2 to an ability for being human?

Yeah. There's a big difference between a 36 point buy in Pathfinder and one in 3.5. I took his Wisdom from 10 to 16. Rall's been stubbornly refusing to stop being angry with the gods, but once he does he might take a level of cleric. Until he stops being angry with the gods, he'd better get himself some more hp, so I bumped his Con up to 13 from 10.

Rushed but:

I'll be out of the country from April 1st to 7th, and I highly doubt I'll get internet access in that duration. Feel free to dmpc my character if needed.
