Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Hey French Wolf, I’ve just had a peek at your Legacy of Fire game, it looks like your crew is at a similar point to mine, and has explored a like amount of the monastery.

If you like, and if it fits what they’ve explored so far, feel free to use this map that I’ve drawn of what my group has so far explored of the place.

You may notice I've taken a few small liberties with the layout, but its pretty close to the map in the book.

Thanks Mothman.

I did a similar thing but your resolution is much better and no ads... again. Its under my FW alias.

I wonder why they headed in the same direction. I would have put money on them going the way they did. A bit like they wanted to stay away from the nave and chapel for as long as possible.

Cheers

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Yeah, I'm not sure why mine doesn't come up with ads and yours does. We seem to be using the same site.

Strange that both our groups seem to have followed the same path to this point...

DM

Spoiler:
You still interested in my game? To be frank, I could do with your wizard idea mate.

Cheers

Spoiler:
I am! Just been a heavy week, I've struggled to get my idea on paper. Was hoping to do so tonight. And I was tending towards the wizard...

Thanks

Hey Moth, everything alright?
I'm presuming that RL just tackled you or something, (There's a LOT of that going around these days!)
But I just realized it's been a few days in the thread, just checking in on you! :)

Maybe I hijacked his spare time some, my fault as he's building a PC for my game. Chap does seem to burning the candle at several ends anyway.

We gonna search the bodies next?

Then go underground?

Pharris is in pretty good shape at the moment but I'm guessing we are all out of spells.

Cheers

Ah, I understand. It always takes me forEVer to make/finish a character! :)

Actually, the good thing about being a Sorc, I still have a few spells left. Not as many as I would LIKE, but a few. ;) (I have enough Scorching Rays left to BBQ the horseman if I can hit him!) But this rain is playing havoc with my to hit chance and fire spells! :P

Of course, it also is helping US from becoming pincushions, so no complaints, really,... ;P

Kaj IS out of 'useful' spells, however he still has a few cantrips that may come in handy if used right. Distracting noises and such.

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Sorry guys, I thought I was still waiting on someone's action, but I've just been flaking a bit. Havent really felt like / had time for DMing this last week. Try to get back into it in next day or two.

Heh, no worries Moth, 'Flaking' has been my middle name, at several times in my life! ;P
See you when you're ready!

No problem Mothman.

So the other question on everyone's lips in every game is are we converting?

Cheers

I don't think the fight's over yet - they might just be re-grouping rather than a full out retreat. They still have plenty of bodies left...

Might be a chance to warn them off though, if Keildrithe of Nicolai feel inclined?

I'd be hesitant to jump below ground until we're sure these guys have nothing left in them. Laithe isn't in spectacular shape, though does have a little healing left.

What does everyone think about this? Inclined to convert to the new Pathfinder RPG rules?

I'm neutral. If we do convert, I think it would make more sense to do so when we level.

(Male Human Bard 1/Ranger 1/Expert 3)

Mothman, you really sound like you need a break... Just a heads up to let you know what I will be taking a break of my own in the near future -- I will not be able to post between Sept. 4 and 20 (exception: might be able to squeeze a quick post in on the 7th and 8th), as I will be on vacation during that time without access to e-mail.

Hm,... not sure how I feel about it.
Actually, hadn't thought about it! ;P

Agree with above though, IF we do, makes sense to do it during a level change.

I'm actually fine with either way. I have a plan for his next couple of levels under 3.5, if we switch to PF that won't affect me too much, just might change a couple of his available spells. BUt I'm sure I can adjust to keep it consistent.

Ash, I noticed that our friendly were-druid took some hits, is he alright to continue the fight? If your down too much, "PUll back! I'll cover you!" ;)

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Yeah, I do need a break - hoping to take a week off sometime mid September, just chill.

I'm not suggesting that we should change to the new rules for this game - I'm not sure that the power boost that all characters get under the new rules is quite suitable for the gritty 'ordianry heroes' feel of this game. But if the large majority of players want to, I'll go with it.

Because Pharris is a generic warrior, I'd prefer to stick with 3.5 for now. Maybe later.

Cheers

Do you need a break from DMing sooner rather than later? Are you losing interest in this particular PbP? Neither are crimes... ;-)

I hope not. But sometimes a break is a good thing. Especially when you DM.

(Male Human Bard 1/Ranger 1/Expert 3)

Heads up... I'll probably be unable to post from Sept. 3 - 19 or so -- will first be backpacking here in the Rockies, and then along west coast of Vancouver Island. I might have a very brief window where I can post between Sept. 7-8, but we'll see...

Have a great time TB.

Wow. Backpacking in the rockies.

That sounds both wonderful, and like a frightening amount of work at the same time!

Have fun! :)

On the pathfinder verses 3.5 debate, I don't mind either way. The story telling in this game is what makes it brilliant, we could be using the crappiest rules set in the world and it would be my favourite.

Your excellent story telling and roleplaying has mde me raise my game in real life and in the other sign ups I am currently in.

KUTGW!

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Thanks ADMAE.

I'm probably steering away from PF for this game, unless I get an overwhelming response to the contrary.

Twiceborn that was very good stuff, mate.

(Male Human Bard 1/Ranger 1/Expert 3)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I wish I would have had more time to make the tale more colourful, rather than "we went there and we did this, and then we met so and so, and then we went there and we did this." But alas, time did not permit... and still, the tale became much longer than I had intended! But it hopefully serves as a useful summary of what has happened up to this point, especially for those who have not been in the game since day 1...

Thanks... and yes, it's a bit of both -- pleasure and pain (but I've been backpacking in the Rockies for nearly two decades now, so I'm used to it)! But, unfortunately, this past weekend's backpacking trip was cancelled. I think our upcoming 7-9 day trek along the west coast of Vancouver Island will potentially be even more painful -- one week of food/fuel/gear on our backs, having to contend with coastal rain and racing against the tides, trudging through soft sand, hopping over large boulders for kilometres on end, wading through creeks, climbing hundreds of feet of ladders and surge channels, crawling along muddy/treacherous paths and bogs,... I'll hopefully lose at least 10 lbs. after all this!

Agreed!

I am away from Friday 11th for 4-5 days on my buying trip, going to have to stare at loads of women on cat walks, it's a hard life but some one has to do it.

Dayum...

Same for me next weekend, except I don't get to stare at women. My wife wouldn't approve as we will all be sunning ourselves on the beach. Or watching the rain from our lodge.

Probably be out of the loop from Thursday evening 18th until Monday evening 21st Sept.

Cheers

heh, that's funny, for a number of reasons,...

Not the least of which is that I, also, will be returning to the beach next weekend, and will not return until Monday, so I'll be back in the keyboard by Tue!

Oh, as long as your staring at women on the catwalk,...

Oh NM, I'm sure there's a perfectly good joke there somewhere, I'm just too tired to think of it! ;P

Mothman, I can't seem to find your Howl at the Carrion King discussion thread.

I wanted to use the link to the Monastery nave since my party are about to waltz straight in.

Could you help? Maybe put it here or in my Howl discussion thread if possible?

Has your HatCK discussion thread disappeared, I can see the Whispering Cairn and this one? Must be going blind.

Mothman/Laithe (all we become clear for the rest of the party soon enough)

Spoiler:
I hope this is okay with your image of elves in your world, but I felt that Keildrithe had kind of laid it on the table, just how much of a party we had become and it seemed a good opportunity to unload that "secret".

Cheers

Hi all,

Just a heads up - I'll be heading down the coast with the family next week so will have a limited (at best) chance to post. Mothman, please act on Laithe's behalf to keep the game moving.

No problem mate, have fun. Hey, what time is Saturday?

Just a note,
On Friday I'm escaping to the beach this weekend (again!) because my kids have a three day weekend from school. I might be in in the morning, but if not, I'll be back on Tuesday.

Laters!

I'm Baaaaaack!
Physically, have to wait till tomorrow for mentally,...
;P
Nighters,

Just so everyone knows, I'm running three days of games at my house starting tomorrow, so my ability to post will be pretty cut down. Then it's a weeks holiday doing DIY and the like but that shouldn't slow me down too much.

Apologies but I'll try to keep tabs on the game.

Cheers

Mothman, can you take a look at the Lochaude game?

Ta

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Apologies for my lack of posting recently. A much busier than normal week or two at work, combined with real life dramas and computer problems at home have conspired to keep me away from Paizo for the most part for the last week or so. I’m not sure when things will calm down at work (and in life) but at least the computer at home is fixed, so hopefully my posting rate will get back to something approaching normal.

HAppy "Day After Thanksgiving"

AKA- "Black Friday"

AKAA- "I ate too much, so now I'm going to sit on the sofa and moan all day" day!

No worries... I've been dealing with much of the same (minus the computer problems), and I'm not sure if/when normalcy will resume.

I hope your real life dramas are nothing too serious...

Not too bad - things could always be worse anyway!

On another note, if you guys have the time and interest, check out the campaign journals of a game I’ve been involved in.
