You belong to a Special Forces company called Ruing’s Raiders lead by Col. Corm ir’Ruing (human wizard).
Col. Ir’Ruing is a scion of an old noble family and she has proven herself a brilliant if somewhat unconventional commander and is much beloved by her troops.
The company was sent to the Lake Cyre region to disrupt trade and military supply lines between the halfling tribes and Cyre also to make the disruptions look like the work of one of the other nations.
You are part of Oddjob squad 101.
Posting for dottiness sake. Devlin doesn't have an avatar yet. Nor a name either, since Devlin's already taken.
He's an opportunistic sort of bloke. Uses a halberd. No ranged capability beyond the reach 2, so I may have to change that. Who else do we have?
I'll finalise some of the powers when I know what the rest of the party looks like, if that's OK with everyone.
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
Kind of amoral, kind of opportunistic. Pretty good at what he does, which is stay out of trouble at the other end of his halberd and grant hefty bonuses to everyone else.
Think a grubby Clark Gable type (strange shortage of appropriate avatars for that) and you'll be close.

I'll have a character ready by the end of today. Typhus will be a starpact human or half-elf warlock, possibly with a dragonmark...
Typhus - starpact human or half-elf warlock, possible dragonmark
Mountain - Warforged Fighter
Rennik Ilzander - Gnome Wizard
Ferdinand Salatic - Human Artificer
Malick - Human Resourceful Warlord
Posting this more for myself, 2 Leader, 1 Defender, 1 Controller, 1 Striker, so far so, I'll probably go melee striker unless someone has a suggestion to help round out the party. This is assuming Artificer is a Leader, I couldn't remember off hand?

You are right. An Artificer is a leader. I agree that a melee striker would seem to fit perfectly, although you should play the character you want. (I often do the same thing - wait until the end to see what the party needs, and that can be fun. This time, I had an idea for something I've been wanting to try out, so I jumped in earlier.)

Luckily I have yet to play a striker of any sort and seeing as we are starting at level 10, going melee should make the myriad of power selections and decisions slightly easier.
Malick is a melee boy, but his powers tend to centre around letting allies get another shot in. I've tried to pick powers that let him unleash warlock and wizard hell as well as other melee attacks, but we'll see how it pans out. I've only ever built one warlord before and he was a chess-playing, very ethereal teifling. Malick is a good bit more careful of his hide than that.
Well, I should be just about done with my sheet too. I'm melee-themed too, but I mainly give buffs to people near me so I could just hang back with the wizard and warlock and throw my spear at people and still give out buffs.

Rouge or Ranger could be usefull in the wild.

I'll be done tomorrow. Sorry, sick kid and grant deadlines are a bad combination.

Does anyone know if the traits are available anywhere on DDI?

He might of meant backgrounds...
Backgrounds, I meant to say Backgrounds.

You don't have to do that... I'll do the legwork and should be able to get one by this weekend. (I have DDI, but because my home computer is a Mac, I can't run Character Builder [at least, not without some additional software].)
Could everyone tell me there heroic build and paragon path please.
Also when you post your combat actions tell me what defense it goes against i.e., attack vs. ac or attack vs. will or attack vs. reflex or attack vs. fortitude.
Waiting for final characters from Rev. Rosey and Bmars3.
Davi are those the correct skill numbers for your characher, they look a bit high.

I'll be going into Battle Engineer.
Also, my skills should be right. +5(Trained), +5(1/2 of level), +X(corresponding ability modifier).
EDIT: Oh, and the actual stats for Rev's character look done.

Rennik is an Illusionist Wizard going for Unseen Mage for paragon.

I'm looking into either Warforged Juggernaut or Dreadnought (from Martial Power) for my Paragon Path.
Depends on how much Charge tends to be useful on the battlefields we'll be on, since most of the Juggernaut's abilities use it or depend on it.
From what I've seen of 4e combat you might have maybe 2 to 3 opportunities to charge into combat per encounter.
Your allies abilities to move opponents around the battlefield may increase the charging opportunities.
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
"Got some fancy weaponry and tricks. Not so sure where the future's taking me."
Stats up in full (I hope), still thinking about paragon path.
Longarm marshall seems right, but I'll need to do a swift rebuild to use it since a halberd isn't a spear. Buggery bum. OK, I'll take a look and fiddle about as necessary. Don't let me hold us up.
Commando Captain is the idea here. More shiftyness for the allies. Less trouble for Malick.
Mountain, if you want to charge, I'll try and keep that in mind for you. Most of Malick's powers let you make a basic attack as a free action, but I'll look through Mountain's power list and see what syncs up nicely.
Hate to bring this up, mainly because it's embarrassing, but I meant for your characters to be at paragon level which starts at 11th level not 10th.
So bump up to 11th please.
Ignore that *S*, it's my computer gaming clan salute, normally put it at then end of all my posts on that forum, so it's a bit of a habit. Hopefully I'll keep it out of the actual game as much as I can, but it gets ingrained after a while.
Urf. OK. I'll go and take a look at good ol Malick and see what the amoral charmer wants to do with himself. I'll get it all sorted in the next hour or so, child permitting.

I may not be able to Rennik levelled until tomorrow night. Most of it should be easy, but the magic items may be a headache.
Question. I've taken some +3 level 12 armour and a +3 level 11 weapon. If I use 4,000gp from the starting money, may I add that to the level 10 item slot to buy myself a +3 amulet of some kind?
I'm still building my PC using the DDI Char. Builder. I've got a few questions if you all could assist? Is the Shifter race allowed in Ebberon? I also have a few questions about rogue tactics and rules that may affect how I build my rogue. If say, Mountain, our Warforged Fighter friend has marked an enemy and my PC attacks that same enemy then moves away without shifting, opening myself up for an OA, and the enemy makes that OA, does the fighter then get to make a melee basic attack against that enemy for attacking me? (Combat Superiority is the class ability I think?)
Also, in a similar situation or in the same example as above, if my rogue uses Riposte Strike, does moving away from the enemy in the same turn, granting the enemy an OA allow me to immediately use my riposte attack and then continue the move action?
Thanks for the help in advance.
Celestial Healer(Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10)
I'll let someone else answer the OA questions, since I don't have my books in front of me, but shifter is a race that originated in the 3.5 Eberron sourcebook, so I'd say you're good there.
I'm also glad we will have a rogue because a couple of my wizard's powers make an enemy grant combat advantage, so that will be a lovely synergy.

Great, I plan on boosting my OA defense as high as possible, daring enemies to hit me while moving (or someone else moving me) back and forth between helping the Fighter and Warlord while also granting them extra attacks, or assisting the non-melee types.
Is it also a safe assumption that most melee basic attacks of enemies are weaker than their other attacks, so taking an OA once per turn is better than allowing the enemies to really wind up and swing at me? Or did I just convince myself that this a good theory?

Both examples sound correct; also note that not all opponents will take advantage of OA's.

Basic attacks usually have the same chance to hit but don't have any extra damage or effects attached to them also some opponent’s basic attacks are not against AC.

Does any of that make any actual sense?
Yes it does, and I ok with it.
Thanks! OK. I'll finalise him now and if someone would be kind enough to cast an eye over him, he'll be good to go. And Malick will adore having an eye cast over him. Vain git :D
