Kenzo is tripped by the hound attacking him, but manages to land one weak blow before rolling back and away from the hound.
The hound moves in to reattack the monk on the ground. Meanwhile the other continues to go for Mitnal.

The hound attacking Mitnal sinks his teeth into the barbarian's leg but Mitnal manages to keep his footing and shake the hound off.
Mitnal's attack staggers the hound and it stumbles, the fight out of it. Eugen steps in and with a well placed thrust, manages to pierce it's chest. The unnatural hound slumps off the sword and falls to the ground.
Kenzo, meanwhile, looks to be in trouble.
Gyorgy finds himself on the ground floor, near the top of the steps.
Lim pulls at my ear as I slow and the panic leaks away, leaving me wiping sweat from my brow and peering about the room I have arrived in.

The repair guy is coming on monday so no guarantees until then that I can get on. My connection comes and it goes.
Huffing and puffing, gasping for breath, i draw Lyrie's wand.
"Right then, let's try this one."
I trigger the wand to strike our remaining foe.
Mitnal bashes in the direction of the hound, but it has apparently decided that Jessa is the real threat and it turns from the barbarian to her, savagely trying to tear her to pieces....Only her arcane protections manage to keep it at bay.
Jessa gives a small shriek as the dog directs its savagery against her. She invokes the Thassilonian wand once more to keep it at bay. And, at the exact same moment, she sees the streaking missiles from Gyorgy's wand.
"Oh, thank the gods," she murmurs, "He found his courage again. And just in time."
Taking heart, she attempts to add the electrical energy enveloping her hand to the dog's misery.
The magic missile and the electrical sparks cause the hound-thing considerable pain, and though Eugen does not cut the beast, his sword does impact with a crack, like a bone or something within the hound's body has broken.

"Won't it just die?"
I fire another volley of magic missiles into the fell hound.
The hound deftly avoids Mitnal's attack and goes for Jessa once more.
Attack:
Jessa continues to avoid its rather large fangs.
Gyorgy's magic missiles slam into it and it yelps out once and then, with a shudder collapses to the floor. It's chest continues to rise and fall with ragged, short breaths.
Jessa falls away from the fight, taken aback again by the dog's savagery. "M-make sure it's dead..." she urges Eugen and Mitnal. Then, she looks back with welcome relief at Gyorgy. "That was...very timely. Thank Sivhana you're okay."
Her eyes then fall on Kenzo. The monk looks bloody enough that she knows he'll need healing. Even Mitnal appears a bit worn down. Once the dogs are indeed fully dead, she gathers everyone around and clasps her necklace once more to plead for her goddess' aid.
"I'm just glad we all survived. Between these yeth hounds and that monstrosity we saw in the cavern back there, I'm beginning to realize just what kind of horrors Nualia may have at her command when she attacks Sandpoint again. We must find a way to stop her!"
"Is everyone okay? Since we lost track of that guard, he's probably warned Nualia by now. So we'd better prepare ourselves..."
"Lyrie's gone too. He must have untied her."
I shrug at my peers, unwilling to talk about my cowardly fleeing.
Gyorgy has never been more afraid in his life but he's buzzing with adrenaline and his instinct is to go on.
"Lyrie's gone too. He must have untied her."
"Darn it," Jessa complains, "I can only hope she took our advice and got out of here. Otherwise, we're going to have to face her, the guy who untied her, and maybe Nualia, too. And now that Lyrie's faced us in battle, she'll have an idea of what we can do."
"What do the rest of you think?" she asks, "Should we withdraw for now and reconsider how we want to oppose Nualia? Or do we press on and hope we catch her unprepared?"
Mitnal sits down hard and begins to clean his hammer and shield. Unfortunately, there isn't much to clean, which seems to depress him.
"It's just ...," he begins apologetically, "killing animals ... even bad ones ... you know ... with people it's easier ..."
"Hey, big man, don't beat yourself up. Those things have some weird magic protecting them from weapons."
I flash Mitnal my most chipper grin: "See, sometimes magic is useful.
