As Gyorgy moves back 5 feet, Kenzo can move past him.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Kenzo slips past Gyorgy and the table to close on the wizardess before she can get off another spell. Once he gets within range, he launches a vicious punch straight for her face.

Unarmed attack with Stunning Fist (Fortitiude save vs. DC 13 to avoid being stunned for 1 round)...
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Unarmed damage, if applicable... 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

(Male Human of the Shoanti Shriikirri-Quah Tribe Barbarian 3)

Mitnal attempts to do more damage to the dazed bugbear:

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

(Male Human of the Shoanti Shriikirri-Quah Tribe Barbarian 3)

Need to know what Eugen does.

I attack again against the bugbear, but the confined area seems to be throwing off my aim:

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Mitnal wounds the bugbear but Eugen only manages to hack at the table.

Kenzo's strike hits the spellcaster who is stunned by the blow.

Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

With both opponents denied an action, I believe Jessa is the last on in the round that can go.

(Female Human Wizard (Diviner) 2 / Cleric 1 of Sivhana)

Jessa rushes to Gyorgy's side, concerned by his bloody wounds, knowing full well the damage such magic can inflict. She whispers a soft prayer for assistance, hoping against hope that Sivhana, the goddess of mysteries will hear it and aid them again, like the flash of power when they found the necklace.

Spontaneously casting cure light wounds on Gyorgy in exchange for protection from evil.
Damage healed... 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

(Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Celestial Bloodline) 4)

As my head clears, wounds close and heart beats stronger in my chest I turn to face Jessa in awe: "You have been blessed...?"

phew

Gyorgy Elberion wrote:

phew

Mitnal catches that exchange despite the distraction of the battle. 'I told him Jessa was better at that magic stuff than he is,' Mitnal thinks.

(Female Human Wizard (Diviner) 2 / Cleric 1 of Sivhana)

Gyorgy Elberion wrote:

"Think of it as a mystery," Jessa says, smiling to see Sivhana favored her prayer, "One that even I'm just now figuring out."

(Male Human Ki Mystic Monk 4)

Thanks, all, for putting up with me. Now then, two questions: 1) Stunning Fist would cause chickie to drop her wand, correct? 2) Eugen is between Kenzo & the bugbear, correct?

Kenzo grabs the spellcaster in a grapple, attempting to tie up her arms with one hand, while covering her mouth with the other. 1d20+4=24

The woman has dropped her wand. Eugen is providing flanking bonuses for Kenzo against Lyrie and Mitnal against Bruthazmus.

(Male Human of the Shoanti Shriikirri-Quah Tribe Barbarian 3)

"Whoohoo!" cries Mitnal as he tries another combo against the bugbear. This time he tries to draw the bugbear in with his hammer and stab with his klar.

including flanking bonus: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

"Gyorgy, see if you can keep the big one confounded with your magic," Jessa advises, "I'll see if I can help Kenzo..."

She then steps forward, trying to avoid the struggling combatants as much as she can...until finally, she reaches down to retrieve the wand dropped by their enemy.

Even though I suspect Jessa can't use it (yet), I'm definitely trying to make sure she doesn't rearm herself with that thing.

I cast daze at the ogre (dc13).

"I can use that." I point at the wand.

(Male Human Fighter 1)

Though Mitnal seems to be making short work of the bugbear, I hesitate to go after the spellcaster while Kenzo is grappling with her.

"I said 'He's Mine!'," growls a fur and blood splattered Mitnal before breaking out into a grin. "No, I'm kidding. Dig in."

(Male Human Ki Mystic Monk 4)

Kenzo tries to adjust his grip on the sorceress to a chokehold, hoping to render her unconcious as quickly as possible.
Maintain grapple & nonlethal damage 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 5 = 18

1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

That damage roll should be +1, not +3.

Mitnal wrote:

Mitnal misjudges and strikes the bugbear with his hammer which throws off his feint and thus his klar strike. The blow is enough to make the bugbear stagger into Eugen's sword.

Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Kenzo begins to choke the woman as she struggles to to escape.

Escape Artist: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

With a wiggle, she manages to throw Kenzo off but she is too late to retrieve her wand for Jessa has managed to crawl under the table and grab a hold of it.

No doubt Kenzo was in the way and threw off your aim.

"Hammer, then klar. Hammer, then klar," Mitnal repeats to himself as he works on his combination. "Hammer, then klar."

Jessa crawls back to the other side of the table in time to see Gyorgy close on the spellcasting woman to help Kenzo. So she turns her attention back to the bugbear.

'Bedezerine!' she whispers again in an attempt keep him befuddled.

She then holds up the wand she retrieved so Blackwing can snatch it and deliver it to Gyorgy.

Move action to get back behind all the melee combatants. Standard action to cast daze (DC 14) at the bugbear again. Free action to pass the 'baton' to her familiar so Blackwing can 'relay' it to Gyorgy?

(Male Human Ki Mystic Monk 4)

"Not so fast," Kenzo mutters under his breath as he tries to grab the sorceress again.

Grapple 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Since Kenzo has the better initiative, she did take the (nonlethal) damage before escaping, right?

Yes, she took some damage.

Kenzo grabs her again.

"argh, stop moving!"

sorry for the erratic posting, my first term has been hectic

Eugen misses his attack.

The bugbear, not dazed for a moment, hisses in anger and lashes out, once more at Mitnal. The heavy flail slams into the barbarian.

Bugbear attacks Mitnal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Mitnal is flabbergasted that Jessa's spell didn't work. "Maybe she's not as good as all that ...," he mutters to himself as he attacks the bugbear again.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

"Yes, Blackwing, bring it here."

When the wand arrives I send a blast toward the bugbear wand of mm (2d4+2=6).

I admire the wand: I've only used a wand of dancing lights before.

the new roller given me a lot of crummy throws, but it looks like maybe it's changed its mind for a bit

Eugen and Gyorgy stagger the bugbear and then Mitnal with a powerful blow lays it low.

(Female Human Wizard (Diviner) 2 / Cleric 1 of Sivhana)

Seeing Eugen and Gyorgy take on the bugbear, Jessa turns her attention back to the struggling woman and Kenzo.

"Bedezerine!" she exclaims, trying to befuddle the woman again and make it easier for the monk to subdue her.

Casting daze (DC 14) at Lyrie.

Meanwhile, Blackwing circles back to rejoin his mistress after successfully delivering the wand to Gyorgy.

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Lyrie makes her save against the spell, resisting the daze. Assuming she and Kenzo don't resolve the fight first.

Kenzo/sub-kenzo?

(Male Human Monk 3)

With his hold on the woman renewed, Kenzo once again applies pressure to choke her into unconsciousness.

Grapple check to inflict nonlethal damage... 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage roll... 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

(Male Human Ki Mystic Monk 4)

Nice roll, Neal . . . lay on that Jimmy Snuka sleeper hold.

(Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Celestial Bloodline) 4)

"Hey, Lyrie!" I speak plainly: "If you stop fighting you might survive this."

escape artist check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Kenzo once more manages to choke off the woman but even as she begins to look woozy, she manages to almost perfectly slip out of his grasp.

Only to be dazed.

Beauty and the Beast - Round 7
Gyorgy: Initiative - 20
Eugen: Initiative - 18
Kenzo: Initiative - 16
Lyrie: Initiative - 12 -10 non-lethal hp; dazed
Jeslara: Initiative - 9
Mitnal: Initiative - 8 -10 hp

(Female Human Wizard (Diviner) 2 / Cleric 1 of Sivhana)

"Surround her! Don't let her get away!" Jessa calls out.

I'll wait to post Jessa's full action until I see what the others do. Clearly, Gyorgy, Eugen, and Kenzo will get to do something before Lyrie goes again. Between the three of you, I'm thinking you should be able to subdue her, even if it just means using flanking bonuses to take her down.

(Male Human of the Shoanti Shriikirri-Quah Tribe Barbarian 3)

Mitnal, knowing that this one is to be taken alive, doesn't bother with his klar. He attacks only with his hammer.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Includes flanking bonus

(Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Celestial Bloodline) 4)

"Give up, you fool." I hiss.

But if she still struggles I aid another, the another being Kenzo with his grapple.

aid another (1d20+1=11)

(Male Human Fighter 1)

I stand aside, a little confused about what to do if i can't use my sword.

Kenzo

(Male Human Monk 3)

Losing his patience with the slippery, wiggling spellcaster, Kenzo resolves to knock her out with his fists this time.

Flurry of blows...
Attack #1... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Damage (nonlethal only)... 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Attack #2... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Damage (nonlethal only)... 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I'm not sure, but if Gyorgy's aid another action was to improve Kenzo's chances to hit, that probably bumps up each attack roll by another +2...but damage will remain the same.

(Female Human Wizard (Diviner) 2 / Cleric 1 of Sivhana)

"Bedezerine!" Jessa casts another charm.

Jessa is casting daze again. If it looks like Kenzo and Gyorgy manage to subdue Lyrie, Jessa targets Mitnal with the spell to stymie his attack before he kills the spellcaster.

Otherwise, she targets Lyrie again if she still seems to be on her feet.

Regardless, it's a DC 14 Will save to resist.
