Is it still an Acrobatics check to strike the remaining hound?

Muchorak will steps into the fray with the remaining hound swinging with his Longsword...

D20 12+7= 19 Dmg D8 3+4= 7, if it is still an acrobatics check Muchorak will switch weapons to his Bow. Which I believe will take him the full round.

Romon snatches the returning dagger out of the air. waiting to see what the hound does. Wellard, I'm imagining the hound zooming by, making an attack and zooming away. Is this correct? Or is it still engaged with Ali?

Azoun, it's Wellard's call, but if Muchorak can bring himself to to just drop his sword and his bow is already strung, I think he can arm himself with the bow as his standard action and still attack.

Wellard, I just noticed you dropped Shalelu out of the initiative. If you feel she's getting cumbersome and it fits the story, may I suggest she and Kallie and the prisoner depart for Sandpoint?

"This dog is getting on my nerves. I always was a cat person. Stand still, Asmodeus damn you!" Casts Daze.

The hound doesnt get fly by attacks..it moved to li and attacked last round..this round it will attack and move away. Muchorak..what Romon said is correct and I'm assuming everone has their missle weapons ready for combat..ie strung. So its only a move action to drop your sword and unsling the bow

The hound snaps again at Ali failing to hit and then flies away from her rising towards the ceiling again.. (No AoO for the little wolf because her bite has no reach)

Seeing the hound flying away, Romon drops the dagger and switches to his bow. He nocks an arrow and lets it fly.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Includes +1 to hit and damage assuming range is inside 30'.

I know this hurts me, but Muchorak wouldn't have his bow ready, not with both his hands occupied by blades. Seeing how the majority of this he has been with Longsword and Shortsword in hand.

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Marak's morningstar bounces off of the creatures' hide and returns to his hand, only to launch itself again at the now-flying creature in the blink of an eye.

Hand of the Acolyte-powered morning star attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 and damage. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Uh, Wellard, I'm a bit confused about your ruling on the AOO, because of this: "Moving out of a threatened square usually provokes an attack of opportunity from the threatening opponent. There are two common methods of avoiding such an attack—the 5-foot step and the withdraw action."
Did the hound withdraw?

As the hound moves away Aliwolf again tries to leap and attack it.
Acrobatics:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

And just in case she did get an AOO. Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Ali misses as the hound flies off ok I'll allow AoO with the bite though some nagging doubt remains about natural weapons with no reach not getting them

Romons bowshot bounces from the hounds ribs

Inakai blasts it again with another bolt of lightning..though the beast does dodge some of the effects

Ali leaps again but fails to reach high enough.

Nathaniel's spell causes the hound to cease its actions..

Maraks Morningstar fails to affect it

Muchorak changes weapons

I haven't heard that Wellard, but perhaps you're correct? But if you're allowing it, just to be clear, it was the AoO that rolled the 16.

So both beasts are dead?

I think not. The second animal just will not attack because I cast Daze on it.

Sweet! I missed that in Wellard's post and was waiting for the hound to attack.

Romon advances into the room while nocking a new arrow and fires.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 factored in +1 hit and damage from point blank shot. If the dog runs to the farthest corner I don't think I'll quite get it.

Edit: it doesn't matter anyway.

as the Hound has an AC of 18 you more than just missed

Romons arrow goes wild

Inakai brings another bolt crashing down on the creature and it falls smoking and unmoving to the floor

"Flying dogs! What next? Cows with wings?"

Muchorak noches an arrow and lets loose at the hound...

D20 13+6= 19 Dmg D6 5+0= 5

Romon mutters under his breath, "Chels with a sense of humor?"

Wellard, I'll be out of touch for the next week. DMPC Romon as needed.

Not caring at all about the unnatural canines, Ali moves straight toward the remaining door and sniffs around it's edges.
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 +2 to smell & touch, plus Scent.

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Inikai looks around the room. He doubts that guardian creatures would be left here unless something of importance were in the room.

Perception
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Nathaniel looks at the field of battle and slain dogs, and then he walks towards the door with his rapier still in hand. "Perhaps these mutts were guarding something or someone?" he mutters to himself. "I wonder..."

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Unfamiliar with the nature of these otherworldly hounds, Marak takes no chances and an emerald gout of acid flows from the glowing green runes along his left arm and lashes each fallen beast, to prevent any unnatural healing, such as occured with the sinspawn.

"To whatever hell spawned you, return and trouble our world no more." he says, as he hits each with the green smoldering corrosive.

Acid Splash on each, full round action to coup de grace for maximum effect. His shield hand remains on the young lady, and while his grip is firm, it isn't cruel.

A search of the chapel finds nothing of note except for the two Master work Khukris on the statue..neither is enhanced but both have a continual light cast upon them..

The Altar shows evidence of having had a body burnt upon it recently.

Impatient for the door to be open, Aliworlf turns to her companions and whines slightly as she scratches at the door.
did she sense/scent anything Wellard?

Muchorak will move to the door with Wolfspirit, go back to his duel weapons, and signal Romon to search the door.

OK Ali will scent the same thing everywhere on this level..dogs, humans, goblins..the scents are overlapping and of various ages..please treat this as the answer to all your 'what does she scent' questions for the forseeable future..in answer to Romons comment about Shalelu..she took off with Kallie...her bow and Kallie's wand lie in the corridor outside the chapel....this has been a public service announcement

Duly noted

The statue is definitely Lamashtu Mother of Monsters.

The door out near the altar..(not marked on the map but on the south eastern white square) is clear of traps and Romon moves through it to find a second dor..this too is trap free and he bypasses the lock easily..beyond you find what can only be a prison..cells line the walls and the air is close and putrid"

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

"These people seem found of their prisons and cells." Marak says. "And yet no Chelaxians in this one." he adds with an overly-dramatic air of desolation.

"We are acquired taste."

Muchorak will look about the cells to see if there is any recent usage.

(Female Forest Gnome

Aliwolf will accompany Big Bear, adding her keen senses to the search.

You search the Prison and the surrounding area ..all the cells are locked..in a small room off the Jail you find the keys scattered on a workbench. This room shows signs of having been occupied by a single goblin until a week or so ago

None of the cells show signs of recent occupancy(ie not in the last month or so)

A search of the cells reveals nothing of interest

To the East you find a larger room A single lantern hangs from a hook on the wall next to where the stairs enter this room from the north. Several rickety doors open into this room, and a few discarded dog pelt rugs lie forgotten in the northeast corner.

Whoops forgot to show the stairs..they come down to the second square from the right on the northern wall of the room with 6 doors..I'll correct it on the next map I do

Muchorak will go over to the pelts and rifle through them with his Longsword to be sure nothing is hiding amongst them.

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Inikai stops in his tracks with a look of surprise. "Kaliciel and Shalelu! We must find them before they are overwhelmed. They cannot fight in their present state."

I'm assuming you picked up the bow and wand...I always assume commomn sense on behalf of my players

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

DM Wellard wrote:

I've spaced what the bow and wand are, actually. Any hints? :)

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

I thought that Kalie and Shalelu fled. Am I mistaken?

Kallie and Shalelu took a powder when the hounds howled. They dropped Shalelu's bow and Kallie's wand during their exit.

Romon looks through the door into the prison area. At the sight, and the smell, his natural aversion toward jail kicks in. When Inikai mentions Kallie and Shalelu, the half-elven thief says, "I'll check on them."

On his way after the women, he scoops up the bow and wand to keep them safe.

Wellard, Romon will chase them as far as the first floor. Since I presume they're making their exit from the party, I'm betting he won't find them. If he does disregard the following.

Reaching the top of the stairs, Romon looks carefully around . Seeing no sign of the two women, he is tempted to call out, but silence on the job has been drilled into him. I hope they're all right. I'll look in on Kallie back in Sandpoint.

He shakes his head and trots quickly and quietly back down to the party. While he returns hs has a quick look at the bow and wand.

Wellard, I'll appraise them both. Was Shalelu's a longbow or shortbow?

Appraise bow 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Appraise wand 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Shalelus bow is a long bow..and is Magical

Kallies Wand is the one you gained from the quasit. It's a wand of shocking grasp (CL1) with 28 charges.

Romon slips back into the room with the others. "They're long gone. I went back to the first floor. No sign of them. Shalelu's good in the woods. They'll probably make it to Sandpoint OK."

Inside he worries that Kallie may have cracked. She was pretty high-strung. I'll look her up when I get back.

Since no one else is taking an interest --

Romon examines the statue of Lamashtu and the glowing daggers. "Marak, would it be safe to prize those from her grip?"

Khukri's not daggers..Marak detects no inimical magic on the statue itself and the weapons are not inherently Magical but are Master work with a continual flame cast on each

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Marak relays this information, "The blades hold a continual flame enchantment, but are not magically empowered in any more effective way, despite their fine quality. The statue itself appears to hold no trapping enchantments, although you would be more skilled than I at noting hazards of a more mundane nature."

He pauses for a moment, "Together, the pair are worth almost a thousand gold sovereigns. I'd certainly suggest prying them out of there."

Romon grins. "Just what I was thinking." He examines the statue for traps before climbing up to wrest the blades from Lamashtu's grasp.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Climb 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

IF the kukris are firmly set in the stone, Romon will give it up until on the way out of the dungeon. He doesn't want to risk making a lot of noise.

The statue is not trapped and you retrieve the weapons with little difficulty

Romon drops to the ground with the kukris in hand. "Can you stow these?" he asks Marak.

The wand has disappeared up his left sleeve. But Romon waves the longbow. "Anyone want to try this?"

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

The kukris are wrapped and stowed in the handy haversack, along with everything else Marak has forgotten. :)

Ï have a handy haversack as well, if you have a need of more storage space."

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Inikai is uncomfortable at the thought of removing the weapons from Lamashtu's altar. Who knows if the Mother of Monsters might have one of her eyes on it at this moment? If she considers this to be defilement then there could be dire consequences.

"If there is nothing else here then we should continue towards our quarry/"
