Ali climbs down with the others, if any dogs are not completely dead yet, the Wild Druid mercifully outs them out of their misery, saying a quiet little prayer to the Spirit of the Land over them as she does.

(Female Human(1/2 Chelaxian 1/2 Varisian) Sorceress 3(favoured class))

Thankfully for Ali all the dogs are quite dead remember coming into contact with them can give you the mange

with little difficulty you climb down into the courtyard...still no sounds to indicate that anyone is even aware of your presence.

there's another bang on the door of C18

Whoops a little cameo from Heather there

Well, cool, but just to remind, she's currently still in Gnome form so would have used her weapon.

Muchorak, once on the ground, will draw both his blades, "Shall we see what is behind the door?"

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Back early.

"If the goblins have that door sealed up, they must regard whatever is on the other side as a threat." Marak says thoughtfully. "What are the odds that it is something that would be an ally to us, and not just something that would be a threat to us as well?"

"I'm not terribly concerned, as whatever it is, it was apparently possible for a pack of goblins to overcome it, or trick it into entering that area, but I wouldn't want to be fighting whatever it is and be attacked by goblins at the same time..."

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Muchorak 'Windstriker' wrote:

Inikai nods in agreement.

(Female Forest Gnome

Listening to the comments of the others, Ali nods to herself and, if possible, will try to stealthily (1d20+11=29) climb (1d20+5=13) the wall to try and have a peek what's on the other side of it.

Err Ali you were on top of that building to shoot the goblins outside the walls..theres no way to see inside..

Murchorak approaches the doors alonnng with inakai its an easy job to prise the timbers off the doors..as soon as this is done the doors fly open from the inside .

You barely avoid being bashed by them as they flay apart and a large black shape careers out into the courtyard..it's a horse..a heavy horse coal black in colour it coat dull and its ribs showing but full of fighting spirit it seems. It looks at you with what you could almost swear is a quizzical expression

Muchorak will sheath his weapons and try to calm the animal...
Handle Animal D20 15+9=24

(Female Forest Gnome
Spoiler:
Basically same as regular gnome with a +4 Hide in Forest Bonus
Wild Druid / 7)

Ah, my apologies, I was picturing a different setup

Ali as well moves to calm the magnificent creature (1d20+8=11) but her slight startle she got when the doors burst open ruins her calm somewhat.

She then speaks to the horse in Animal Tongue, saying "Be calm, beautiful sister/brother, we are friends and mean you no harm. We are enemies of those who have captured and harmed you and you are free now from their clutches. Can you tell me what happened to you here?" (obviously phrased in ways and concepts that the animal would understand)

That was a wild empathy roll by the way, not a handle animal check

Muchorak moves swiftly to calm the magnificent animal..it relaxes visibly under his attentions..

Ali

Spoiler:

Stinky two legs killed this ones two leg..this one kill stinky two legs but other stinky two legs use ropes and this one is taken ..then stupid stinky two legs bring this one here..they cut ropes..this one kill more then they shut this one in dark place with no food..small two leg has food?"

The party has aqquired a combat trained heavy warhorse

As the horse calms, Muchorak steps up and begins gently stroking the animal, "What shall we do with our friend here?"

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Muchorak 'Windstriker' wrote:

"If we take the horse along we will never surprise any of the goblins. If we put it back the goblins might kill it while we are elsewhere. The only thing I can think of is to let the horse wander about and attract goblins. We can follow the horse and ambush the goblins while they attempt to either recapture or kill the horse."

"Please understand that I do not want to see this animal killed and I hope we can defeat the enemies here without causing its death. If anyone has a better plan please say so."

(Female Forest Gnome

Breaking off from her conversation with the magnificent steed to glare fiercely at her friend Icky, Ali says, in a tone clearly brooking no argument "NO! Beautiful brother has been hurted too much already by nasty goblins! Ali no let him be hurt no more!"

Calming down just as quickly as she was angered, she looks again to the horse but speaks to her friends as she continues "My brother's two-leg friend was killed by yucky goblins and now he be alone. Ali think he be happy to come with us but he also be smart so he wait here for us if we tell him too. But right now, he be hungry and need to eat."

Looking through her meager belongings, Ali determines which of the many herbs and plants she constantly picks up almost without thinking would be healthy for the horse and gives them to him. If she has nothing appropriate, she will try and recall where in the maze she might have seen plants good for the horse to eat (1d20+5=6) (K Nature). She also examines him closely, checking for any signs injury (1d20+8=24). If necessary, she will happily use a charge from her new 'healy belt' to aid him.

As she gives her attentions to the noble animal, Ali says in Animal Tongue

Spoiler:
"What be your name four-leg brother? I be Ali. Sometimes I be four-legs too."

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

"I'm sorry, Ali. You are right. Do you all think the horse would be safe back in the stall? That is where the goblins expect him to be, and he would be protected against the fighting. When we clear out the rest of the goblins we could free him. If we let him free the goblins will just cut him down with arrows."

Ali

Spoiler:
This one's two leg called this one Shadow mist..this one does not know what that means but the two leg thought it important to give this one a name. Two legs are strange

Muchorak nods at Inikai's comment, "I think you are right, they expect him in the stall and apparently had him secured enough in there. But the bindings on the door I think they were more scared of him then he of them." Muchorak will move over to Wolfspirit, "Will he agree to this?"

(Female Forest Gnome
Spoiler:

Ali moves to pat Icky on the arm to show him she is not angry with him anymore and all is well. When Big Bear asks his question Ali nods and says "Brother...horse? That right word two-leg word for big fast four leg, yes yes? He say his dead two-leg call him Shadow Mist. Ali think maybe he stay if we tell him but she ask for be sure."

Ali moves back to Shadow Mist, lovingly stroking his big nose and head as she giggles and says "Yes, two-legs strange, but Ali like them. Well! Ali like some of them! For long time Ali live as four-legs and no use two-leg name, but she lives with two-legs now and they like names so she use one. It fun sometiems. Brother Shadow Mist, Ali and friends go now to kilum dead yucky goblin two-legs. But Ali friends think it better you stay here till we come back. Doors open now so you run away whenever you want, but Ali hope you stay and be her friend. You be only four-leg friend Ali have right now. You stay? yes yes?"

Wellard, if you rule that Ali can use her Animal Tongue while in wolf form, part way through this speech, when she mentions she used to be "live as four-legs..." she will flow to wolf form, saying "See?" to show what she is talking about and then change back at the end.

Romon looks at the big horse as it emerges from its prison-stall. He has little experience with equines, but it's clear even to the poor city-bred thief that this is a majestically exceptional beast. But its kicking was too loud and this is taking too long. After a few moments, he begins looking nervously around the courtyard.

Wellard, anything else of interest around here?

ShadowMist snorts a bit in surprise as Ali flows into wolf form..but Muchorak and Shalelu between them manage to keep the horse calm enough...with an equine shrug it returns to the barn.

There is nothing of interest here. Shalelu retries her arrows which you notice are all surprisingly intact Thanks to Elves of Golarion's specialist arrows rules

Once shadowmist is safely away Muchorak will turn to the others, "Which way shall we go?" Drawing his blades, indicating his readiness to eradicate the goblin vermin.

map assuming up is north on the map

Romon looks around. Double doors make him uneasy. When there are people behind them, they're usually in large groups. He points to the south east. "Let's try those two. The gate is back that way and we might need to make a quick exit."

Romon walks over to the door in the corner (to C11) checks it quickly for traps and listens.

trying to work with speed. First Perception roll to find traps, 2nd to listen for noise behind it.

Back in Gnome form, with a last loving stroke and whisper to wait for Shadowmist, Ali follows into line behind Big Bear.

The door Romon chooses does not appear trapped..nor can he discern any sounds behind it..deciding to take the chance he pushes the door open slowly.

The floor of this room is hard-packed soil, as if the builders either ran out off lumber after building the walls and roof, or as if they simply never thoughtabout building a floor. A number of poorly preserved horse and dog heads are mounted along the eastern wall, while along the southern wall hangs a pair of large batlike wings tacked to the wall with daggers.

Inikai

Spoiler:
you would say the wings were those of a Harpy

Perfect, Wellard. Romon wants to move fast until we have a clear line of retreat.

Romon eases his head through the open door to look around. Then he steps through the doorway and has a quick look behind the door. The taxidermy holds no interest for him.

other doors out of here?

Muchorak waits for Romon to finish his search of the room, "It appears the goblins had a trophy room."

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

"It also appears that they are more formidable than we had estimated. There are some parts of fell creatures on those walls."

Muchorak turns to Inikai a quizzical look on his face, "Fell creatures?"

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Muchorak 'Windstriker' wrote:

Inikai thinks for a moment trying to recall the Shoanti expression for very dangerous creatures. "Chan shattin" ,he says, certain that Muchorak will understand. He adds in Chelexian so that others will understand: "Those wings on the wall are from a harpy. If the goblins managed to slay one they must clever and skilled with their weapons or they must have very dangerous allies here. All the more reason for us to be wary of traps when we confront them instead of simply fighting them head-on."

Wellard:

The harpy must that Inikai and Romon put on is only effective for one minute. Has that much time passed?

Ali's little face is a picture of horror and shock when she sees the grisly wall display and a little moan escapes her lips and tears run down her cheeks. She moves over to the horse heads in particular and seems to whisper or speak something to them, perhaps it is some kind of prayer or blessing.

When she turns from this, the tears are still rolling down her face, but the look has changed into one of pure murder. A low growl can be heard from her and at this moment the small little being seems very feral and vicious indeed.

Inikai

Spoiler:
yes its been 4 or five minutes

yes I thought this might get Ali worked up..+1 bonus to hit for our little gnome against all Thistletop goblins

You can see a number of doors leading off from the room..mainly along the northern wall and down a corridor that runs east.Dpible doors sit to the west

he also sees to his relief the Main doors out on the other side of the large irregularly shaped room

Still growling, Ali flows into Wolf form and, not waiting for the others, runs ahead to the nearest goblin she can smell.

Muchorak nods at Inikai's explanation...seeing Wolfspirit angered and her immediate reaction; without thinking and blades drawn he follows.

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

"Gnomes are rare enough, we might as well not lose this one," Marak says as he jogs after Ali and Muchorak.

Ali is thwarted in her desire to run off ahead by the fact that the doors are closed...the wolf scrabbles at the double doors in the northwall off the room where the scent of goblin is thickest.

Moving quickly to maintain the element of surprise Muchorak opens the door and follows Wolfspirit down a short corridor to a matching pair of doors..throwing those open you burst into C19.

This large throne room is decorated with hanging furs along its walls, mostly black and red-striped firepelt skins, various dog pelts, and in some cases, what look like horse hides. Four square timbers support the ceiling, their faces studded with dozens of iron spikes, with the lower reaches decorated with dozens of impaled and severed hands in various stages of decay. To the northeast, a wooden platform supports a throne heaped with dog pelts and horse hides. Dog skulls adorn the armrests and a horse skull leers over the throne’s back.

Inside a number of goblins seem to be re-enacting the battle of Sandpoint(with the goblins winning off course. A large goblin sits on the throne with a massive lizard beside him.

You have surprise..remember you only get one action in a surprise round

Backtracking a bit:

Relief sweeps through Romon at the sight of the outer doors. A sure exit secured , his mind is free to consider other things, like the animal heads. A low growling sound triggers an unpleasant thought. In his best stage whisper he says, "Keep, Ali, out ..."

But turning around he sees it's clearly too late for that. The werewolf and the barbarian are already charging for the other big double doors.

"Wait!" Forms in his mind and crumbles to pieces unvoiced. The vengence-bent pair is already opening a second set of doors. Drawing another arrow from his quiver, he follows behind.

Wellard, if he can just get to room C19 and be prepared to shoot next round, that's good enough.

Iniative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Marak takes advantage of this moment of calm before the storm to call upon Nethys' favor.

Bless, allies within 50 ft. will have +1 to hit and +1 to saves vs. fear.

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

If the goblin on the throne is within 30 feet Inikai will target it with called lightning. If it is out of range he will target one of the closer goblins.

(Female Forest Gnome
Spoiler:
Basically same as regular gnome with a +4 Hide in Forest Bonus
Wild Druid / 7)

Ali growls loudly and makes a mad dash 50' moveto reach the leader on the grisly throne, leaping to attack him on her initiative.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Not sure how that would work into a surprise round (maybe that means she doesn't get OOC's against her passing by?), but if at all possible, she'll Charge the chief too. Also, her Barkskin had a 30min duration so it should still be good I think meaning her AC is still at 20

Muchorak as well charges the throned goblin...

D20 Longsword 9+9= 18 dmg D8 3+4= 7

Also Muchorak will have his Dodge against the throned Goblin in the surprise round. On the first round if the Goblin is dead he will move his dodge to the lizard.

Muchorak and Ali do indeed dash past the stunned goblins and launch a ferocious attack on the one on the throne. Romon moves into the room with Shalelu Marak casts a blessing and Inikai blasts one of the goblins to bits with his Lightning. Kallie as always hangs back behind the better armoured members

In return the chieftain grabs up his Dogslicer the Lizard takes a totally ineffectual bite at Ali and the other goblins turn to close on the rest off you

Since Muchorak and Ali are so close to the chief and his pet Inikai will target another goblin with his lightning.

"Die in pain!" he yells as he calls down the electric arc.

Romon moves along the lefthand wall looking for a clear line of fire. He nocks an arrow as he goes. When he gets about halfway down the wall he stops and fires at one of the goblins.

Inikai wrote:

That musk might just prove real handy here. I mean I think with those covered we might be able to blanket the entire room. :D

(Male Human (Chelexian and Shoanti mix) Binder 7 (favored class))

Unfortunately, the musk is not longer effective. I asked Wellard and he confirmed that in an earlier spoiler/

Qadira (M Human 7th Cleric)

Marak steps forward into the room and his morning star flies from his hand to strike at the goblin chief, before jetting back into his hand.

Wellard, have used Ali's attack rolls from my last post for this round, or should I make more for her?
