Repost, since the board has somehow swallowed my original post into a pocket dimension.

Alright, I don't want to delay things too much, so I guess I'll kick things off assuming we are aware of the Summoner, even if we can't see him right now.

Singer
Standard: Cast Good Hope (+2 Morale bonuses to attacks, damage, saves, skill checks, and ability checks).
Move: Bardic Song, Inspire Courage (+2 Competence bonuses to attacks, damage, and saves vs. Fear/Charm effects)
Free: Take a 5 ft. step to D19, clearing the way for Felicitas and Kitty to move as they wish.

Postion: D19, HP: 70

Felicitas, you're up.

Archer calls out (talking is still a free action i believe)

"What Ho good farmer, what troubles you!?"

The farmer looks up at you with big frightened eyes, he utters a deep moaning sounds, unable to form words.

If you succeed on a DC 15 Perception check (adjust for range) you can see why: his tongue is missing.

Thanks for the heads up by the way, Team Evil appreciates it ;>

without details on the character im just going to play him straight up good. Most of my characters would call out to someone seemingly in distress at a distance first.

perception:
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Archer says to his allies "That man has his toungue cut out, that is a dire thing, there is evil afoot, be careful friends".

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Just to play along:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 Perception

"Evil has befallen this place. We should go, find out what it is and shred it into pieces"

(Male Gnome Fighter 5 (33,000xp)/Illusionist 6 (36,300 xp, 10% bonus XP))

Singer, +14 Perception 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 vs. DC 15

Naylist, +3 Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 vs. DC 15

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

did I mention that my dwarven girl has long, sharpened fingernails? But enough of that.

i believe its the druid's turn

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Yeah, it is, did just update the wiki and need to get back on the stats.

Felicitas:
standard cast bulls strength on self
move move 20 ft straight forward
Kitty
move move 40 ft straight forward
standard ready to counter attack attacker

" Be careful, whatever has done this is still nearby *Meow*"

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Gale, do you know maplib?
I know how to embed such an map into the wiki and it would be way more dynamic.

Kolokotroni wrote:

G-19 is only a single move. If you double move you can reach M19. (Base movement 20, +10 for barbarian, no penalty for armor because of fighter armor training)

(Male Gnome Fighter 5 (33,000xp)/Illusionist 6 (36,300 xp, 10% bonus XP))

I am good where i am, i wanted to be at G19, (though i still dont think its a single move, 30ft is the speed right? 6 squares forward gets me to G15 (remember i started at 15, not 19)

Oh woops, right, I was thinking G15 for some reason, you are correct.

just click the damned link ;)
It's a neat little application that lets you do google maps stuff on your own maps. most importantly: including setting tokens.
But setting everything up with all tokens etc. is quite a bit of work and should be done by the person who has the tokens' files ( you)

Besides all the tech-fu wizardry, don't forget to play the paly.

(Male Gnome Fighter 5 (33,000xp)/Illusionist 6 (36,300 xp, 10% bonus XP))

(Sorry for being slow on the Paladin's turn, just had to do some reading up on Concentration and Ride).

Naylisk and Yasha
Move: Ride forward to RS/1718
Standard: Cast Divine Favor, Concentration +9 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 vs. DC 11 or lose the spell.

I'm not the paly!

Should have specified, I'm casting Divine Favor on Yasha, not Naylisk.

Final position RS/1718, HP 64/57

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

I did add a misc line for the Paly, that he gets +2 to all checks ( he's the one who most likely makes some)

(Male Gnome Fighter 5 (33,000xp)/Illusionist 6 (36,300 xp, 10% bonus XP))

Azmahel wrote:

Yeah, don't think that applies to anything we've made yet (except the perception check earlier).

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

And now a blast from the past

Thrasher casts wall of fire (surprise)

The wall extends from k16 to tt16 (180 feet)

The wall deals 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17 fire damage to the poor, poor farmer

The wall deals 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 fire damage to kitty, the paly and ride.

Thrasher moves to hh12

Eidolon moves to ffgg1112

Both share a good laugh about the fried farmer

Wall of fire blocks line of sight, not effect

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Yeah, but he will want to make ride checks. Enough of them to warrant adding the total bonus to his combat stats.

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

and whats about line of sight ofr casting the wall?
edit: should be ok, was just a flashing concern.

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Updating map (blasted spell effects) and then moving on to round 2.

Azmahel wrote:

I do believe you only need line of sight to the middle of the wall, which appears to be right on mr farmer.

(Male Gnome Fighter 5 (33,000xp)/Illusionist 6 (36,300 xp, 10% bonus XP))

Darkjoy wrote:

One last point that strikes me, did Thrasher make his perception check, with penalties for distance, to pinpoint where we were? (It's only a DC 0 for someone talking at full volume, but there's a -14 penalty for distance that actually makes it a semi-tough check)

If he heard us, but could not beat the DC to pinpoint our location, how does he know where we're approaching from?

EDIT: Scratch that, didn't think about the Pally casting at close range. That would be pretty much guaranteed to give away our approach.

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

also there's only the road or the woods.

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Well, thrasher did saw the farmer respond to the call (he turned his head at less than 20 feet), doggie has a pretty high perception.

i know this came up in previous playtests but i dont remember the result, do you say wall of fire blocks line of sight?

Round 2(New Map)

Singer
Move: Move up to H19
Standard: Cast Haste, targeting all party members except the Paladin and Pet who are out of range (sorry).
Free: Maintain bardic song

(Sorry for the delay, RL interruptions)

Position H19, HP 70

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

It blocks line of sight, not line of effect.
