(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

druid is up
Summoner and eidolon are blind.

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

try to finish off summoner if possible

Druid full attacks the elemental

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Glitterdust has ended more encounters than I can count ;<

eidolon's turn

Eidolon delays - give me a moment after each action to decide if I break delay

Darkjoy wrote:

OK,

Paladin charges the eidolon

It is really annoying that you guys win becomes my roles are sucky!

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

archer is up

Darkjoy wrote:

i remember archer missing like 8 shots in a row last time around, but anyway

Edit (forgot where certain characters were)

Archer moves to kk7

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Archer was really "lucky" with rolls so far, and these are nearly the first rolls paly got to make.
Elemental could have done a little more dmg, Eidolon had a 65% chance to be blinded. ( or 35% to keep it's vision)
so not much for the dice so far.

archer shoots at the eidolon who has cover from the paladin

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 damage 1d6 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Eidolon is already down

i meant summoner not eidolon as the target of the shot

crit threat rolling to confirm

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23 2d6 + 30 ⇒ (3, 2) + 30 = 35

Darkjoy wrote:

Eidolon at oopp34 with 53 hp

dark joy please confirm my assumption about the paladin giving the summoner cover from kk 7, if he does have cover, then threat was not confirmed, if he didnt have cover then threat was confirmed.

Summoner is blind = flat footed and you get +2 to attack him

that dmg was quite average (2 points above? ) and the attacks weren't out there too.

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Azmahel wrote:

Yeah without that +2 it would not have critted, no worries though.

Kitty is up

Azmahel wrote:

right, so threat confirmed summoner takes 53 damage from archers hard hit

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

M-M-M-MASSIVE DAMAGE ;)

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Yeah yeah, move on already

Kitty is up

Kitty moves to nnoo1,2 (provokes an aoo from thrasher and my count is 14 squares to get there going around the pig sty with current speed at 70ft from haste)

and attacks with a bite

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

ah, right, thats optional now.
;>

18 damage to the summoner, his turn.

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

I run away

Gods, I liked playtesting against the pregens more. Damage output of these guys is crazy.

I am strongely considering that my guys really need more spells active before the encounter starts.

And what is worse, effectively there is even more of you!

6 against 2 is horrible odds.

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

Hey, we don't even have a Wizard ;)

Now we see what it's like with pwoerful characters against a powerful summoner. It's a CR8 encounter (CR9 considering equipment) and that was pretty fair.

And at least Felicitas wasn't really optimized or anything. I took slightly over 30 min making that character.

It's CR8, gear is minimal. You took longer than 1 hour actually, we had to wait for you, remember ;>

And I am definitely not feeling the powerful summoner vibe - Oh No!

Increasing the number of active spells would essentially increase the CR by 1 (very favorable circumstances) unless the party too got the chance to buff.

Not to mention one of the things that is being tested here is like vs like.

Summoner has a badass pet that is designed to pounce. Druid and Paladin both have pets and are designed to pounce. It is a fair comparison.

If you wanted pre-gens your eidolon should be far less optimized. (i would say completely removing the pounce ability as an option)

Right, I had an hour.

thats not terribly much too. (esp. considering that was the first druid since 3.0 I made (and only had one Player in 3.5 with one))
haven't stopped time, but didn't work the whole hour ;)

(Male Rogue 3/ Monk 2/ Bard 5)

Fact is, my eidolon is not optimized - he may look it, but the 30 minutes I spent creating him are not doing him any good.

You guys have the economy of movement thing going on, and with 6 vs 2 it is even more out of whack than the 4 vs 2 was.

But let's reset again and see what happens....

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

That there isn't a powerful summoner vibe and that the pouncing eidolon is comparable to the pouncing, buffed animal companion is worth something. A Good result for a playtest in my eyes.

(Male Human ( mostly) Commoner 2 / Student 3)

give me 30 min (or a bit more)and I'm ready.
I would consider giving at least the paly a ranged sidearm. poor guy always running around searching for something to charge :)
