Nodding at Guards words "Aye, your warforged speaks the truth, although I am a loyal followers of Dol Arrah The goddess has not granted me such an honor, still we serve as we can"

Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote:

Upon talking with Amella she does say there are a few nice coves and harbors to anchor in case of a storm. Looking at his charts Ardanto can see a river close by only a day away. Might work for the storm and to refill the ships water stores, after all you had planned to refill at the marked rivers anyhow.

Ardanto agrees with the idea of refreshing the water supplies at the river and plots a coarse there.

He busies himself as he waits in anticipation for word from the interrogation of the 'good' father.

Ok folks what questions. And I am sure Daurros and Finn will love the new room mate, Thoven should have spells that could be of use, however it will take him a day to pray for them as he prays in the mornings

Finn proves to be a poor berth-mate in the following nights. His sleep is punctuated by restless tossing and pitiful groaning.

"Very well, 'priest'. I admit I have always enjoyed the teachings of Dol Arrah. Can you tell some of them? I have desire to convert, and am in need of inspiration, 'Father'."

Knowledge (religion) for anything he says 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

"Well my son I am weak and today is not the best time, but I guess you wish to see the truth of my faith" he says wearily 'very well. As you know Dol Arrah is a member of the SOVEREIGN HOST. Dol Arrah is the light, not only of the sun, but of the best aspects of the mortal soul. She is the god of honor, forthrightness, and self-sacrifice.She is the patron all who seek justice, and warriors who fight with wisdom and honor as much as with weapons. To a lesser extent, she is also the patron of explorers, who bring the light of knowledge to dark places, and to all who revere the sun." He smiles a bit winded "I will admit I am not much of a warrior for the goddess, but more of a teacher, we all serve however we can. Could I have some water if you please?" he says with a weak, dry voice

"My goddess, wishes for me to travel so I was told by my superiors . So here I am upon the sea spreading the wisdom of my goddess and edits of my faith to remote shrines they see word from the mother church less then often"

Daurros

Spoiler:
his words are almost straight from the holy text, He is either very well versed in the faith or what he claims to be

(Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9)

"Hmm. Yes well, thank you for your wisdom, 'father'." Daurros frowns, and leaves the room. Later, he tries to find Thoven, and he asks him, "Lord Thoven, I'm afraid I'm just not the trusting sort. I find it difficult to believe this man had no idea how that thing got into him. You can prepare a spell that forces the truth, can you not? I think it might be useful, here."

Puts on Thoven hat

"Yes there is such a spell but I will need to pray for the flames guildance. In the morning all should be ready for such a spell

The next morning Thoven makes his way to the good father and checks on him. The priest seems stronger. He says a few words the last being May the flame find the truth" then turns to the rest of the group. "Ask your questions" Father Feres looks a bit confused about the affair

Mori, sigh man this is your last warning, 5 days and not a peep. We need to hear from you

"Ok, Feres, I hope you're feeling even worse than yesterday. For some reason known only to the Dark Six, the Captain wants us to question you some more before having you try to swim to shore while being chained to a weight."
"I'd like to start with what is your name?"

"Are you really a priest of Dol Arrah?"

"Where did you go when you disembarked at Fort Blackrock?"

Seeker, he did forget to let all of us know, but I noticed he posted this in another of his pbps ... looks like he may be back in a day or so

I'm also assuming that myself and Toxim will be questioning him after Thoven casts zone of truth the next day.

Daurros stands back, and lets Toxim's line of questioning go forward. He looks to Thoven to make sure the spell has taken hold. And if the Father refuses to subject himself to it, well, we'll have a whole different problem ...

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla Once again tags along for the questioning keeping to the background whilst the questions are asked.

The priest takes in Toxims words much like one hearing a small child complain, he nods and speaks "Yes, I feel much better after the most excellent care of Lord Thoven. My name is Feres, Lest that is what I am called now, what I was called before my calling has no barring on who I am, now does it? And yes, I am a priest of Dol Arrah and while at Fort blackrock I visited the lady's shrine , spoke and spread the good word to sthose of the faith and broke bread with those faithful while there."

The father sighs 'Really my son, I do not know more then that. As to how the spawn got in me I simply do not know. Could it have been the same way the creature got on board some weeks back?

I'll look back to Thoven to see if 'Feres' is telling the truth.

Guard isn't around for the second questioning.
He believes the Father and instead goes on to stand guard on deck, overlooking the crew and other passengers.

What is Skarl(?) up to these days?

It's Skald. I've put together a list of crew and passengers in my profile, under the Sea Wyvern spoiler. It can be difficult to remember everyone.

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla Does her best to avoid saying I told you so Toxim.

Really sorry about that guys, I posted in another thread as Daurros kindly pointed out. I thought I posted the same post in here but i suppose the message boards kindly decided to be a douche..

Thoven looks long and hard at the father as he tells his side of the story."It seems he is telling the truth friends." he declares before glancing down at the bandage on his arm where the tentacles dug under his flesh only one day earlier" I don't claim to be an expert, but I imagine such a foul Xoriat spawn would have multiple ways of infecting such an innocent man. Undoubtedly it could have been any of us I suspect, had things been only slightly different." He reasons, taking a gulp at his own words. As if this was the first time he had heard this thought and he found the information as hard to swallow as any of those he told.

(Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9)

Daurros frowns, and leaves the room. He's obviously disgusted with how things went, and still doesn't trust the man. A little later, he approaches Karkalla when no one else is around.

Karkalla/Seeker

Spoiler:
"I apologize that I did not introduce myself properly when you first cam aboard. I am Daurros Erdai, and a close friend of the Captain. I also do not like chit-chat, so I will get down to why I am here - you are new to the ship, and Father Feres does not know you. I was hoping you would be willing to ... well, take a look at his possesions. You know, rummage through them a bit, take a look at anything that might corroborate his story. Something still isn't right, and I want to make sure there is no danger left. I get the impression that you may have ... some skill in that area, yes?

Karkalla goes a little red in the face as Daurros talks to her "Errm well ya see I already had the same thought when he first fell ill so whilst you were all operating on him I had a look through his things. Nothing much that I could find just some clothes, a holy symbol and some loose change."

"I see. Well, it would appear that this man truly is who he says he is; that, or he is an exceptional con man. I suppose this will rest for now. Thank you, Karkalla."

Daurros walks to the railing, and stares at the sea for a few minutes, lost in thought. Then, he recalls something Father Feres said; or rather, the way he said something strikes him. He heads back to visit the man once again.

"Pardon my intrusion yet again, Father Feres. I believe that I may owe you an apology for doubting that you were who you said you were. The numerous threats we are facing, and the sabotage incidents, have me on edge. But this whole implant business really bothers me; someone or something tried to harm us again, and you in particular. Had that creature 'birthed' as it was supposed to, we could have had a huge loss of life on this ship. Thus, in the interest of finding out what happened, I still need to ask you some more questions, if you please.

"When we last talked, you said, 'My name is Feres, Lest that is what I am called now, what I was called before my calling has no barring on who I am, now does it?'. While that may have no baring on who you are now, your past very well could have baring on who would do this to you. Can you please elaborate on this? I ask you, in the best interests of the crew and everyone on board, please tell me of your past. I assure you, it will be held in utter confidence."

The ship rocks in the storm, the rain drives into the deck with force as the crew work the rigging and sails. The Sea Wyvern cuts though the building waves and the thick of the storm, wind howling as it rips her sails

One deck Amella stands near Ardanto as he man the wheel, slicing into the nights storm as water and wind lash the ship with no mercy. Below deck Avner is sick in the cabin muttering something about gods, storms and lunatics. Urol keeps pace from stern to aft as he takes note, running about like a waterlogged imp with a gleeful smile. Below deck Lirith pulls Toxim into an her bed, saying the storm scared her and she needed him to keep her company. A few times Skald could be seen on deck staring into the storm and lighting flashing, giving him a bit of a sinister stance.

Below with Father Fere

Spoiler:

'Well, my son. Many of us do not start out holy as we become. I say even you were not always a user of the arcane arts. Is this not so? He nods to Daurros. As to what I was before, I do not think it would have much barring on that thing. I could be wrong. He sighs as if he does not what to talk about something. With some reluctance he speaks "I was once known as Sal Torran born in Sharn and lived a life of pretty theft and crime till a kindly priest showed me my true calling. No. he says with a determined look "That life is twenty years dead and nothing to do with what I am now or that thing. I fear someone on this ship wishes it ill. And I just was unlucky to be the tool for what ever plan they had it seems"

Ardanto is enjoying himself, grinning like a lunatic as the ship cuts through the storm waves.
"So I hear that you used to have your own ship?" he bellows at Amella over the noise of creaking wood, crashing waves and howling wind. Making small talk.

Need any rolls?

Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote:

Walking up to Skald, the warforged shouts over the weather: "Nice weather, ain't it? You know, I can feel those lightnings tingle on my skin when they aren't too far away. Wouldn't want to be hit by one though...

Saw another one once, was unfortunate enough to have that happen to it. Not a nice sight... It's armor had melted together, couldn't move anymore. Couldn't anyway, internals burned out too."
Guard then stands near Skald, waiting for the man to reply anything.

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Finn continues brooding on deck, even welcoming the feeling of the cleansing rain and wind on his skin. But he keeps an eye on Urol and Skald as well.

I will suffer through having Lirith distract me from Feres.

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla goes about her ship duties. (In this case I imagine securing rigging and the like.)

Ardanto yes make me a few checks

With water running from her hat like a fountain and hair plastered to her face with the weather Amella nods "Aye." she yells over the noise of the storm "I owned me own, that I did, with me husband after the navy. Lost 'er, him and everything else to treachery." She says looking out at the deck with hate in her eyes "One day I'll ave me own again, fate is a fickle b$!*$ cap'n"

Skald doesn't look at the warforged as he speaks. as the lighting strikes the mans eyes almost seem to glow with violet fire as the storm pounds the ship. His gaze fixed upon the storm with intent "Yessss,' He whispers like someone under a enchantment.'The power, within is a thing of primal beauty. Watch how the waves clash and drive, how the wind rules all it touches and the pure power of the storm." He fixes his violet gaze upon Guard, something that is both sinister and primal. "We are nothing before it's power, mere insects before it's glory." He looks soaked to the bone, but like a man possessed with the power of the storm. 'it is beyond us, and we are beneath it's keen.Just nothing is all we are, pawns or playthings nothing more." With that he looks back into the storm as a man looks to his gods, everything else seems to fade to him before the storm.

Finn sees Skald talking to Guard, but watching Urol takes more of his time as often it looks like the eccentric Gnome would be washed or blown overboard as he runs about the ship with child like glee.

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Finn sighs and staggers over to the gnome, carefully keeping his balance on the shifting deck.

"Master Urol, I must ask you to go below decks. It's not a safe place for the passengers to be."

Thoven saunters casually on the deck in the torrential rain. He keeps a close eye on the crew, while he wasn't suited to their duties, he did his best to assist them as he walked amongst them. Muttering a few words and laying a hand upon a few shoulders was all that many of the crew needed in order to do the bidding of the Silver Flame to the best of their abilities.

Use of the guidance orison, just trying to stay active.

Hearing Finn speak the Gnome looks up from his spot leaning over the rail. "Oh Master Finn!" He cry's almost going over the side as a wave rocks the ship "Did you see along side! Rackenfish! A whole school of them!" He says jumping up with excitement, almost falling on the slippy deck " They are raw this close to coast do you think we could catch one?" He says with puppy dog eyes , and looks like a wet wrinkled child with a bread as he points toward the water.

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

From where she is working on the rigging Karkall calls over to Urol "Well if you're not going ta go down below at least secure you're self ta the deck so you cant be swept overboard."

"Aye, she is a fickle mistress," Ardanto yells, he pauses mulling over an idea, "I have a hankering to be a Commodore some day, I'll be needing excellent captains like you in that fleet," he grins at her, wiping the rain from his face with a free hand. "So I'll see if we can't rustle you up another ship, see if we can't get that fickle cow to work for us for a change."

He grins like the Cheshire Cat as he hangs onto the wheel, trying to prevent the ship breaking herself into pieces as she slides down the sides of the waves.

Spoiler:
"Perhaps not, Father. But please, let me be the judge of that. Tell me, do you know of anyone who may wish ill on you? Do you have any enemies, either before your time as a priest or during? How long have you lived in Sasserine?

And the more I think of it, perhaps this occurred at the Fort ... can you tell me the names of those you talked to at the Fort? What did you do there? Please tell me all you can remember of your visit there. Or even more importantly, are there any times you cannot remember? I dare not think it ... but what if cutlists of the Drageon Below have infiltrated the chapel of Dol Arrah there? We would need to warn them, I think."

Until he hears Finn say "discussion" all fight goes out of the Gnome then and he happily starts to chatter "Oh yes, Rankenfish are so interesting. Did you know there are 12 types of Rankenfish? From the short nose blue fine to the more common blackfine. The ones along side are a school of green bellied flip finns. They call em flip finns as they tend to fflip well their finns. Its very interesting you see it's though they flip them only to the right...I only saw the right...although maybe one did a left fine flip. Karkall seeing the Gnomes reaction and the beginning of a long nature speech begins to back away towards the other side of the ship giving Finn a "You're idea you're problem" look

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Finn stifles a yawn as he replies: "I think I may have seen a fine left green fin flip earlier in the day. Tell me, is the rackenfish the one that has a snout somewhat like a horse, or the one with the humped back?"

He pays only cursory attention to the answer as he gets the gnome safely stowed downstairs.

Looking after Finn handling Urol, Guard goes with Karkalla.

"Boy, that storm brings out the best in some people... Seen Skald over there? If he decides to go overboard, I'm not going after him..."

'oh yes the Rackenfish has a horse like snout, well kinda horse like although the white belly Qrillid looks much more like a horses snout..or a mules really. Did you know that the white belly Quillid eats only one type of sea weed? fascinating really, you see this weed grows off the western coast og Xen'Drik in the sea of lost souls. I was there once have I told you that story? well now it was three years back and... the Gnomes voice fades into the storm as Finn sees him safely below deck.

Skald seem to pay little mind to Guard, watching the storm "I have been on a ship before warforged. I know how to stay out of the way." The wind and rain have plastered his hair to his head, his eyes flash with a hint of madness as he turns toward Guard. "I payed my gold warforged and No one will miss me if the see takes me.
