(Outie Non-core Mister Wizard 5/Science Guy 5/OT-8 10)

As breakfast ends, the crew go about their duties, albeit a few less in number. Traveling about the ship, you notice that a few of the crew seem very worn. As the brilliant red-orange sun of Narscint reaches it's apex, you are summoned to the Captain's quarters, where Illia herself stands to greet you. Her first mate, Daertin, and the man in midnight blue stand in front of a table covered with charts, ledgers, and other papers, as well as myriad writing implements.

"So you are the heroes of the Dervish", the Captain greets you, skipping pleasantries. "I would know our saviors' purpose, and their destination, though there are many travelers on this ship, none came to our rescue. So why you?"

(Male Halfling Sorcerer 3 (Water Elemental Bloodline))

His eyes scanning over the charts on the table, Antal looks up at the captain and grins.

"I'm just heading home to Midsky. As for the skirmish, I was up on deck enjoying the night air when the enemy attacked me. Honestly I was just defending myself. Though I would have gladly helped even if they hadn't attacked me."

(Female Half - Elf Bard 3)

Sirsi assumes the question is posed more to those who actually fought, but she's listening intently while working out some song lyrics to simultaneously praise and mock the heroes.

(male Dwarf cleric 3)

barak will remain silent for the moment, he will look around and take stock of those around him

(Female Half - Elf Bard 3)

Sirsi sits, humming a simple folksy tune
Sirsi's song, take with a pinch of salt I'm certainly no songwriter myself

Spoiler:

"I travel forth with heroes four,
The Heroes of the Dervish,
Listen as I tell you now,
And try not to be churlish,
Antal, Havrin, Harther Maol,
Stood to fight with no respite,
Against a foe we do not know,
The Ancient Enemy.

Antal clad 'neath layers of ice,
Flinging forth his cold blue spikes,
Always a cheeky grin from him,
Stands tall for such a short'n.

Harther Maol you see him not,
Knives and shadows be his lot,
Serves purpose of a higher call,
He aids us, keeps us from a fall.

Havrin Stahl the rugged woodsman,
Stood fast with shortblade in his hand,
And you know he be a good man,
Takin' down the savage foe.

The Ironstar rallies the wounded,
Brings them back fore they they are to go,
Then works though he miss all the fightin'
With nary a complaint from he.

The Heroes of the Dervish,
I feel they'll soon be called upon
To serve some greater purpose,
And pass into our mythology"

(Male Human Ranger (Skirmisher) 2)

“I do not claim to be a hero, milady.” Havrin responds quietly. “I was merely in the position to offer what assistance I could. I hope not many crew members were lost.” Havrin offers to the Captain a small packet containing two eerily glowing blue knives, a small pouch containing 22 gp, a large violet gem, and a small flask containing a vibrant red liquid. “These items were found on the bodies of the two dark attackers down in the hold near the engine room. I know they are not much, but I hope these items can be used to offer some compensation to the families of any lost crew members.”

“As to my purpose aboard ship, I am traveling to Midsky to deliver information regarding problems along the trade routes in the outer Omrian provinces. I am not really sure why people located so far from Omri would be concerned with our trade routes, but when you are a desert scout like me you take what work you can find.”

“This is my first trip on an airship. Is it always this exciting?”

By the way, I apologize for not posting more frequently. I am on vacation, and my internet access is very irregular. I am not sure if I will be able to post again this week, but I will try!

(Male Gnome Cleric - 2 Levels, Rogue - 1 Level)

"They were causing a disturbance and risked making my passage unnecessarily long. It is already a painfully long journey back to Adenar for my next assignment and I do not wish to waste any time."

(Female Half - Elf Bard 3)

Sirsi retreives the scrollcase she recovered last night.
"I had hoped to have a look at translating some of this before handing it over, but since Havrin is so forthcoming."

(Outie Non-core Mister Wizard 5/Science Guy 5/OT-8 10)

The Captain takes the scrollcase from you, and hands it to the short man in midnight blue "Lorien, see what you can make of this. Heroes, you may keep the spoils of your efforts, do not be concerned, for we take care of our own." she says, motioning for you to keep the knives and moneys. "This ship and it's crew were the only family they had, which brings me to my reason for bringing you here. I suppose I was not clear, when I meant your destination. Clearly the next stop is Midsky, but after that...I shall not pry, but I had hoped you could do me a service. Whoever these invaders were, they know our ships, and Lorien seems to think by the pattern of their attack, that they want one. When we land in Midsky, it is likely they will try again, for Midsky is their other target. If you agree, I would hire you on to guard my ship, my family; and find the source of this attack. You will sleep here at night, and seek information by day. I hope you are up to the task, though you may choose to decline. Dart thought it prudent to include that your passage will be refunded in full, and an additional amount paid each day you remain with us in Midsky. You have a few days til we make berth, think on it and if you are interested, find either myself, Dart, or Lorien. We thank you again for saving this ship and it's crew."

(male Dwarf cleric 3)

Barak will think about it for a day and then when he next sees the captain he will agree to serve

(Female Half - Elf Bard 3)

"Well, I ain't got no pressin' business, so count me in."

Antal smiles and stands next to Sirsi.

"What kind of gentleman would I be to let a lady do anything alone? You can count on me as well!"
