The water fills your vision. Every where is water except for the large scaled creatures that break through the black expanse.
The water also fills your lungs. Coughing sends bubbles everywhere. Which way is up?

Water is the only sound. Crashing waves, frothing slowness and drowning cries shout one word: water. Tons and tons of water. The pressure squeezes your burning lungs. The salt cuts your swelling tongue. The cold steals your strength, arms and legs becoming leaden.

A foot hits something solid. You kick. Something sharp-rock? scales? teeth? hits your shoulder cutting it wide open. Is that the sky? More water spatters your face. Fresh water though--not salty. Rain? Taking a deep breath you gulp more water with a little air. The sky is the same as the water.

Black, wet and cold.

A wave lifts you into the air only to slam you into the rocky shoal a second later. In its trough you realize you are in shallows, but it is a short glimpse of what might be hope. The next wave crests overhead, rolling you like broken doll, curling you into its embrace.

Water fills your world. Black, wet, cold water.

Wet.
Cold.
Blackness takes you.

Trey spends his last few seconds of consciousness being rather upset at the fact that he is sinking in the same fashion that a ship shouldn't.

The halfling pulls wet hair from her eyes to see a dark grey sky. It is stormy, but not as terrible as last ...was it only last night? it feels like a week! She shrugs, "well... not dead yet."

Teaglin wrote:

The bodies rolling in the waves and washed up in the sand are incomprehensible to the water-breather.

Trey Mainsail wrote:

The ship! My wyvern!Trey pulls his scarred face from the broken piece of wood that must have helped carry him to shore. The beach is littered with many such objects, some are recognizable such as a piece of the mast, many are not.

(Male Dwarf Warmage / 7)

Staring out at the vast expanse of waves sadly, Urdok bemoans the lot in life that led to his deciding to impose a self exile on this rock. Standing up he shakes his fist at the heavens, "What I would'nt give for at least one more poor soul to share me thoughts with." he shouts. Looking down off of his cliff, he sees a group of bedraggled travelers pull themselves from the waves. Looking at his fist in wonder, he shakes it again and yells "What I would'nt give for a brewery and some pleasure girls!!"

After waiting for almost 20 minutes, a dejected Urdok makes his way to help the water-logged crew make their way from the beach.

(Male Half-Elf Swashbuckler Level 6)

Oh NOOO'ES! MY SHIP!!! (and crew)

As soon as I gather my wits about me, I would like to immediately start searching for survivors of the Wyvern. Can I remember anything regarding the events leading to the shipwreck? Rolled a 27 on my search check http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1684900

you tell me what you remember--but I will fill in what blanks you might miss.

Searching the beach the deposed captain finds many bodies. Some are starting to stir, some will never stir again. Still others are somewhere in between. Among them are those mentioned above. Also a couple of humans and a gnome none of which are conscious, but not dead either. And a horse-- Thunderstrike! Avner Marivachi--one of the nobles who sponsored the Sea Wyvern's trip to Farshore is also alive. The ruts in the sand suggest the steed dragged him from the waves and now the horse is standing over his soggy body.

Jaden opens his eyes, and begins to move. He looks around to see where he is and what he has on him. If he is hurt, and who is around him
"Well.. that was not how i planed to get to shore."

(Male Dwarf Warmage / 7)

Urdok perks up at the sight of the horse and speeds up to a trot, rubbing his hands together gleefully he cackles "Havn't had fresh meat fer a few weeks now."

(Male Half-Elf Swashbuckler Level 6)

Trey is a little ashamed at the regret he feels that so many appear dead, yet Avner clearly lived. Trey begins to run from body to body - checking for signs of life. Helping who he may.

Trey takes stock of the situation in the way any good leader would. Trey is captain of a ship though, not a leader of men. "You are no hero you idiot" screams Avner "if it was not for you we would be in farshore by now! What kind of an captain puts his ship in the shoals?" His berating continues as the other survivors are too tired, too wet, too scared to stop him. Perhaps they just agree. Only two colonists survived and they seem to agree with the noble. Amella, the first mate, helps beginning to organize the survivors as her captain is doing. Urol, the gnome druid, carries his raven wrapped in a bundle and Tavey lets himself be grouped among the others. It does not take a high spot check to know the boy is crying whenever he thinks none of the heroes are watching.

Tthe horse, the noble, cabon boy, the druid, the first mate, two colonists, a priest, a halfling, a dwarf, two human sword slingers and the captain are all that remain of a crew and passengers numbering over thirty at the beginning of the voyage 3 months ago.

"Shut up!, or i will cut out your tounge, and give it back to the sea. Now keep quite and help the fallin, or sit down and do not move, or i will come back over.!!"

Jas wakes from a nightmare of drowning. "Wait, it wasn't a dream." Jas finds himself of a part of the ship wreckage floating away from the shore. Jas lightens his load, sacrificing all of him possessions to the gods of the sea. Sighing, he jumps into the water and swims toward shore.

"Damn the bad luck."

The beach is maybe 90 feet long at the shore and only 80 feet deep. At it's edges the jungle creeps into the white sand. It is from here that a huge beast with a large head and teeth the size of daggers rips the foliage apart and bursts onto the sand.

The beast is distracted by the first meal it has had in days. It takes a moment to savor the taste of fresh--still wriggling--food. But then its skin begins to open; small bits at first but then huge gashes appear as well. Bits of wood puncture the beautiful yellow and black striped hide. The creature turns to follow the most recent offender as it springs away with a large and bloody stick.

The creature takes a deep breath and prepares to breath a circle of fire and acid at the party. Suddenly the creature's head explodes in a flash. It is only then you realize the flash of energy was not from the creature, but rather inside it. Its stomach too has an explosion of sorts, bulges rhythmically distending the light underbelly.

As tiny tendrils of smoke drift from its nostrils the critter gives up on the moving targets. A large, pink tongue wraps around the spicy dwarf inside its mouth pulling him toward its gullet. grapple check Urdock: 1d20+30=37 if you beat a 37 you stay in its mouth, if you lose you are in the gullet (and make a spot check). After stabbing the giant lizard, Jas retreats beyond the range of the beast's maw.

A glint catches the sailor's eye. Reaching down, Jas wraps his fingers around a pommel. Pulling on the hilt, Jas frees a sword from the sands. An eerie magical glow emanates from the great sword.

Dropping the harpoon loaned from Jaden, Jas renews the attack on the beast with his new found weapon.

Springing into an slashing attack, Jas swings wildly at the monster.

Second attack 1d20+4 = 16+4 = 20
second damage = 2d6+11= 9+11 = 20

Jas springs back, away from the giant lizard.

"I thank the gods of the seas for giving me another breath and a new weapon to smite my enemies."

The creature lets out a mighty roar--but a roar of pain not one of viciousness. It's belly distends to the point of tearing. The thunderlizard lets out an almost thankful gasp as a second, smaller lizard is birthed in a spray of blood and gore.

This second lizard shakily tries to stand. It's eyes blink in time to the near-frantic panting from its exertions to escape the womb that has carried it so far. "mmm.... MMM...," it says.
