On her next attempt, the pesky air current knocked her around so much that she did a loop the loop trying to regain control of her wings and nearly crash landed before she was able to get upright again.

"Remember what I told you about controlling your wings. If you keep them out too far the wind will just blow you around however it likes. Pull them in when you get a strong wind current like that."

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

"You're doing great, Aananda. Just take it nice and AAAAAGHHHHHH!!!!..." as he dives under the bench when she almost crash lands on top of him.

He pokes his head back up as she climbs back into the air.

"...Err, easy." ;P

"Right," she gasped. "Control my tail, control my wings, don't get blown all around. It's not like this is easy, you know."

Aananda'reavekki kept on with the flying lesson for another hour before she was satisfied enough with their progress to call a halt.

"Alright. That's enough. You've got the basics. Mostly what you need now is practice. Time for a break. Which means you get to practice landing."

It was not a pretty landing. It was more of a crash from a low height.

"Ow!"

She sighed. "Alright, well you seem to be okay."

"I think your wings have had about as much strain as they can stand for today. I don't like it. You need to know these things, and there's so little time to teach you. But it won't help anything if we work so hard we cripple you. I'll let you have the datapad, well one of them anyways, that I copied Mother's journal entries onto. That will have all of the answers I know. Study it when you get a chance."

They both transformed back from dragon to human, the younger Aananda rubbing her sore shoulders and grimacing as she stretched. The older Aananda handed her a datapad.

"I'll be inside if there's anything you want to ask about."

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

One the LZ is safe, Tam walks over to the two. ;)

"Are your legs okay? You didn't sprain anything on that landing, did you?"

She winced and hobbled a little as she tried to walk. "I don't think I sprained anything, but none of it's happy with me. I could really use a hot bath about now."

"Well as long as you don't dunk the datapad in soapy water, you should be fine for reading in the tub," he says with a chuckle as he puts an arm around her to help get her to the door.

"I thought you did pretty good for only your second time flying. The near-death experience was the only thing I'd say you need to work on - for my sake if nothing else," he says with a grin.

"I promise I'll work on the flying so I don't crash and crush you," she said with an answering grin. "You're much too important to me," she added, leaning her head on his shoulder as they walked.

"Awesome! Does that mean I just got promoted from 'tarmac' to 'soap dispenser'?" he says with the most insincerely innocent look on his face that he can muster. :D

She giggled. "Yep. You want the job it's yours," she said, eyes twinkling with amusement.

"No problem," he says with a knowing look. He intones a few arcane words and then touches her with his free hand. She slowly starts to lift off the ground, so her feet are no longer touching the stairs.

"That should be much easier on your legs now," he chuckles as he carefully guides her up the stairs. :)

And now to carefully wend my way home to rest. G'night all :)

Morning folks :)

"One of the benefits of a diversified magical education. I much prefer to do creative things with my spells other than blow stuff up," he says with a wink as they reach the top of the stairs. ;)

"Intriguing. Now I'm curious about what other creative things you can do with magic. Which was probably what you intended," she added with a smile.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

He starts to reply, but stops and just smiles back for a second.

"Let's work on knitting those bones and muscles first," as she is gently floated back into her room.

"Now I'm betting Adsila has all kinds of nice herbal soaps and such forth to help ease an aching body, so I'll see what's in the bathroom here," he says as he starts rummaging through drawers. :)

She watches the search for soap bemusedly. "I didn't know that soap came in more than one variety."

She drifted into the bathroom and looked at the tub in confusion. "Er, how do you get the hot water all the way up here? There isn't any hot spring that I'm aware of...a geyser perhaps? No, that can't be right. There isn't any around here. I'm certain of it. And why are there so many metal pipes attached to the tub? Is it some sort of water carrying mechanism? Hmmm....what happens if I turn this...." She turned on the cold water tap. "Brrr. That is not warm. Okay. Let's try this one...." She turned off the cold water and turned on the hot water. "Ouch! That's too hot!" She sucked on her burnt finger. "Oh, I see!" She started experimenting with turning on both taps at the same time until she got the desired temperature.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

"Yep - the wonders of indoor plumbing," Tam says with a nod as he watches Aananda work with the taps, then goes back to the drawer.

"Okay, let's see....chamomile, lilac, rose. Hmm... Ooo!"

[Sniff Sniff]

"Peach! Smells just like the real thing too..." as he turns back around and sees her looking at him bemusedly.

"Heh...Well, in any event there's a bunch of stuff, so there should be something here that tickles your fancy." ;P

"Soap that smells like other things? I've never seen that before. Let me see," she carefully sniffed at each of them, making a face after both the lilac and rose soap. "Ugh. I don't want to smell like flowers. The other one, I guess. The peach one."

"I think there is some unscented soap, if you prefer. Oh, and I almost forgot the bath salts to help out with the muscle aches."

He pulls out the cleansing agents and puts them by the tub, then rummages up some towels and a washcloth or two.

"Okay, I think that's everything you need for starters," as he scans the room to be sure, then pours the salts into the tub. "The salts need to go in now so they dissolve into the water as the tub fills. Then you can get in, have a good soak and let the aches and pains just wash away. I hope," he says with a smile.

"Thanks. I don't mind the scent. I just hadn't known that was possible. I like the peach one. I just don't want to smell like flowers."

She carefully placed the datapad on a chair well out of the way of the water and laid her jacket on top of it just to be extra careful not to get it wet. She whimpered again when she tried to take off her shoes. She leaned on the chair for a moment.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

[EDIT] We're typing too fast! :D

Keep the TK idea - I wholeheartedly approve ;D

"Hold on, let me get those."

He kneels down in front of her and carefully slips her shoes off, holding her ankle to keep it from bending too much.

She breathed a sigh of relief at being able to get out of the shoes without pain.

"Thanks."

She tried not to think about asking for help getting the rest of her clothes off even if she did need help because then she'd start blushing uncontrollably and she could probably do it with telekinesis mostly anyways. Probably. Well, clothes can be mended if she messed it up.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

"Um...are you going to be able to manage the rest, or do I need to..." as he turns a bit red before he can finish the thought.

"I can keep my eyes shut once all the knots and fasteners are undone. I mean, those are the areas you're going to have trouble with, right? A gi just tends to fall right off once all the ties are...um, undone..." :P

She blushes. "Darn it. Now you're blushing. I was doing such a good job of not doing that until you started too..."

She took a deep breath. "Okay, I can probably get out of the rest of my clothes with a little telekinesis. It's not particularly good for the clothes since I don't have the most finesse with it, but I can manage."

"Or you can help, which would probably be better since then my clothes would still be in one piece later, but you don't have to if you'd rather not..."

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

"It's because I keep running with these trains of thought and they seem to all be ending up in rather, um, risque territory," he says with a sheepish grin.

"There's no good reason for you to destroy your clothes. We're both grown ups here, and despite my leering earlier today, I can be a gentleman if I try hard enough. Wait, that didn't sound right..." as he makes a face. ;)

"...Anyway, I can get these if you just hold the rest of the garment in place," as he points to one of the clasps on her shirt.

"I don't think I've ever seen you not be a gentleman," she said, blushing as she held the shirt the way he'd told her to. "I just get embarrassed because every time I'm around you my heart starts going really fast and I get clumsy and say dumb things and oh gods, I'm doing it again...."

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

"Easy hun, breathe. Don't strain the ribs right now - I'm pretty sure you'll regret it," he says with a chuckle as he maneuvers around her and carefully undoes all of the fasteners.

"And you haven't ever said any dumb things," he points out as he leans down and kisses her on the cheek.

"There, all ready. I'll probably have to float you up to get the pants without hurting you..."

"Right. Sorry. I didn't mean to get so worked up." She's still blushing furiously.

"Ummm...okay, so yeah...." She distractedly shrugs off her shirt and mentally picks it up and floats it over to the chair with her jacket.

It's now Tam's turn to have his brain stall out and need a moment to restart....stand by please ;D

[Blink, blink]

Finally remembering that he was supposed to close his eyes, he quickly looks back down at her legs.

"Sorry sorry sorry! Dammit I swore I wasn't going to do that," he apologizes as his face goes full-on scarlet and he shifts his legs around uncomfortably where he is kneeling.

"Right, um, pants. Hang on..."

Through an act of supreme will, he keeps his eyes on her...waistline as he undoes the buttons. He then realizes that everywhere he looks now he's going to seem like nothing but a lecherous cad.... ;P

I can't wait until she actually starts picking up his thoughts. He'll just die from mortal embarrassment :D

lol. I think this may possibly be the most humorous romantic scene ever. :D

As thought slowly starts to trickle through her brain it occurs to her that she was in fact going to be standing there stark naked in a moment.

"Oh. Er....."

'Okay, not going to be thinking about that, not going to be...oh, hell, now that's all I can think about.' She bit her lip.

"Er, it's okay. I mean, you have to be able to see what you're doing, and errr.....I don't mind," she added hurriedly. She was blushing so hard that even her shoulders had turned red.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

Then my plan is working! MWAHAHA - oh who am I kidding. As long as it's eliciting a smile and a laugh, I'm typing the right stuff ;D

Tam freezes for a moment at Aananda's last words. Feeling like his whole face is on fire, he takes a breath and finishes undoing the buttons. Levitating her in the air a bit more, he very gently removes her last garment and folds it in his arms. Then he slowly looks up at her, his breathing appearing to stop as he does so.

"Well," he finally manages to say when their eyes meet, "if you don't mind..." as he smiles at her warmly. "You truly are beautiful..."

"...but you're about to bite your lip off," as he stands up and traces a finger along her lips.

She froze, unable to move while he touched her lips. He thought she was beautiful! ^.^ Her brain was refusing to function right at the moment.

She shivered involuntarily.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

Mistaking her shivering for actually being cold, he gets a pained look on his face.

"Gods I'm an idiot - I'm sorry. Here, let's get you in the water and warm you up," as he gently turns her in the air so he can get his arms around her shoulders and legs to move her over the tub before setting her carefully in the warm water.

It's about at this point when a good portion of his willpower seems to give out and he kisses her.

And now traffic awaits me....a pleasant night to all :)

She kissed him back. The difficulties of kissing over the edge of a bathtub led to her accidentally overbalancing him so that he fell into the water.

She giggled. "You're not supposed to get into the bath with your clothes on," she teased, and then bit her lips as she realized the implication of what she'd just said, blushing again.

(Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6)

I had a feeling I just missed that post when I logged off ;)

"Aaa...!!"
[Sploosh]

Tam does his best to brace himself so he's not got his full weight on top of her since she's still so sore, but there's no way to avoid being in contact with her body, and the...telltale side effects thereof. ^.^

His breathing a bit more labored now, he looks back up at her.

"It....is much less....effective for getting clean, yes. If you want me to stay in here, I could do something about that though..." as he almost unconsciously presses closer.

She looked into his eyes and felt suddenly calmer.

"Yes," she said a bit breathlessly, sore muscles entirely forgotten, "That's what I want."

Aaaaand, I think that's about as far as we can push the rating system before we have to...

Fade to black...

Yeppers - we don't want to get flogged or anything. :D

And now to go work on the latest crop of bills....sigh. ;)

Okay, the metallic taste in my mouth and the dizziness can really stop now. Blasted side effects of sinus infection medicine grumble grumble....

Aaaaand a Wobbly Wednesday 'Good Morning' to all. Please make the thread stop spinning... ;P

Good morning. Sorry to hear that the sinus infection is still making you miserable. :(

Okay, so I presume we need to fast forward at least a few hours. How much time should we fast forward through? Also, I was thinking of having the future group and the current group split up temporarily. Anyone up for a field trip to the Temple of Falling Water? :)

I live! I live! MUAHAHAHAHA!

WooHoo - Field Trip!! \m/_(^.^)_\m/

I think advancing several hours would be fine, unless you want to handwave a little more training and move up a day or two. It depends on the catalyst you want to use for splitting the groups. In any event, I'm game :)
