As Tamrin and Aananda shop, Kannic heads to a back room behind the sales counter. Heated whispers are heard. The shopkeeper seems to be interested in looking anywhere but behind him. After several minutes the dwarf emerges and picks up several bundles from the clerk. He heads to a stool, takes a seat and begins to inspect and equip his new toys. He changes one of his rings, dons a new cloak, and equips some new daggers and a crossbow bolt he mulls over before placing it in his quiver. He waits, holding a lump of oddly shaped stone in his hand.
Bone Ring, MiC Bolt of Slaying, Undead Figurine, Rock Lizard
If Aananda's answer is 'no', then Tam uses he gems he was given to outfit her with:
Bracers of Striking(Magic of Faerun) with elemental aura(she can choose to add 1d6 damage to her unarmed attacks from one of the following energy types: acid, cold, fire, electricity or sonic; she can change the type each round)
Protective items to boost AC & Saves - tailored to her wardrobe requirements, of course. Most likely a Ring of Protection, an Amulet of Natural Armor and a Vest of Resistance
If he can scare up another Bone Ring for her, then he will do so.
"Aananda - did any of your training focus on manifesting personal energy in an elemental form to augment your physical skills?"
"I'm not even sure what that means. I can do some telekinesis. And sometimes I can send out a line of force. Although that's pretty unusual. None of the other monks can do that."
She has NO idea that she's been using her breath weapon. :)

"Force attacks are always good - there's not much that can defend against it usually," Tam says as he picks up a pair of bracers, his face turned away to hide the concerned look on his face.
"These would give you a little extra damage potential, but can be used constantly if you need to. They allow for magical enhancements that normally go on weaponry to apply to your unarmed attacks - in this case, they can manifest any cold, electric, fire or sonic energy and add them to your blows."
He takes off the bracers he is wearing, and puts these on. He concentrates for a second, then his hands and forearms become limned in flame. His clothing does not burn.
"Like that. They even allow goofs like me to fight unarmed without hurting myself - but you've already got than benefit covered," he adds with a smile.
He deactivates them and switches them back for his own.
Well, ki can work in mysterious ways sometimes... ;)
Sonic damage, always fun. I had an Eldritch Knight(Bbn2/Undead Bloodline Sorc6/EK5) that cast shout at a stone giant. What did she shout? "DIE!" And it promptly fell over.. dead. A truly wonderful gaming session.
"Speaking of....do you know anything more specific about this thing's vulnerabilities, Kannic?"
Kannic stirs from his thoughts, "Err, no. I only know the basic vampiric ones; real sunlight, etc. This bloke seems stronger than usual. Even my Penetrating Strike had trouble. It usually bypasses defenses. That's why I ordered Holy bullets. They work on evil of all sorts."

"Nuts - I don't think they have any bracers with that here..."
"Okay, I think I'm ready. Aananda, is there any other gear you can think of that might be a good buy for enhancing your abilities?"
She looks thoughtful. "I don't think so. I don't really know much about all this fancy gear though."
"Well - you're the most self-reliant of the three of us gear-wise due to your training anyway, so that's okay. I just wish that I knew more about these creatures to know what 'weak areas' to buy for," he says, brow furrowed.
"I guess we're as ready as we can be on short notice. We'd better go track them down before they get too far away."
What is the duration on Tam's Thrill- I mean Circle Dance?
It was instantaneous.
How are you searching for Ryo then? Going back to the Juggling Dwarf and heading south from there?
Pretty much, yeah (since we're next door to the Juggling Dwarf anyway). Hopefully Kannic's local connections (i.e. Diplomacy checks to gather info) will lock us in on Ryo from there.

If the gang of celestial ninjas don't find them first. ;)

Tam's chicken dance gives a general direction, but Kannic's informants have slightly better information. Ryo and Keaton have meet with two other people, one larged and cloaked and the other a small dark-skinned child, and have entered a closed down colosseum just outside the city limits.
"Yep. It's almost as if we were putting on a show for someone."
"To boot we have more to contend with. Ryo and his brother were bad enough. Now, we have two more wild cards."
"They were putting on a show of sorts for someone - whoever was the true owner of that house we were at earlier. Maybe one of these two is that person."
"Do we want to attempt a stealthy approach and see if we can get some idea of what's going on before we announce ourselves? Especially if we're now outnumbered?"

"Stealthy if at all possible. If we could only find a way to break Keaton's hold on Ryo..."
"Well, I don't have any ideas for how to do that. All I know is that he has magic on his eyes. Other than dropping some dispelling on Ryo, I don't have a clue how to break Keaton's hold on him. Guess it's time to try and sneak in and hope we suddenly think of a brilliant plan once we see what's going on."
"I've got a spell I can try that's more reliable than a Dispel, but it will pretty much shut down any ability of supernatural origin within 10 feet of the target. That could be double-edged sword depending on what else we could be dealing with in there, but it's an option..."

So it could, oh I don't know, dispel a polymorph effect? >:)

Depends on whether or not we subscribe to the 'psionics is different than magic' notion or not. It's probably a good idea to decide that amongst ourselves now :)

If 'yes', I'll leave it up to L to see if it dispelled. Otherwise, there are only three things that are 'mean' about to happen, though only one really matters.
