"I've told you everything i dont know anything else"

the duergar closes his eyes and mutters a quick prayer to his god, he does not open his eyes again,

OOC the duergar is done speaking
any more questions or shall we move on?
btw vhorun, no one believes a drow when they say "i will let you go"! the best that can be hoped for is a quick death

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

"I think it'll too much hassle to hide the bodies vs. simply move on," says Charlyl, "the next shift will find blood of their missing comrades anyway. Shall we get going?"

He looks at his cousins for a next step.

Once in the mine, Charlyl will take point and find the traps mentioned as well as sniff out any additional surprises. Is there a way to bypass the trip alarm instead of simply disabling it? I would prefer to leave things the way they are so random duergars who come across the disable trap by chance won't go "huh?"

ok i will push things on, you kill the duergar and proceed down the mine, it goes downwards and does curve a bit it is very much as decribed in the map,

charlyl is on point 30ft ahead of the the rest of the party (does that seem right?)
the corrider is about 5 foot across and 10ft high, can i have a party order please?

Charlyl you easily find the first trap, you can easily disarm it if you like (remember there will be allied dwares following shortly)

as you continue you see a dead end to your left,(marked on the map)
there is nothing else of interest (you find no other traps) until you come to the second trap that the deurgar mentioned, you examine it from a distance, it looks like a soundburst spell will go off if you walk past it
do you want to disarm it or use the pass word?
past this is a door that according to the map leads do the barracks, it is closed. it has no obvious locks, it is made of wood and has a handle.

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Charlyl will go ahead and disarm the first trap. As for what to do with the second trap, he will consult with his cousins.

"We can easily bypass this trap w/out risking disarming it, but we will need to find a way to tell our allies the password. Since the dwarves will be rushing in to secure their young, I don't think they'll have the patience to figure it out. Should I just go ahead and disarm?"

Vhorun is behind charlyl

'Let the dwarves figure it out on their own. If a few of them gets killed off in the proces, all the better.' he signs in answer to Charlyl.

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

'I'll leave a quick scribble on the ground, in case Shal is leading this foray. Don't want to tell Matron Mother Divaste that her daughter got blown up.' Signs Charlyl, who proceeds to borrow chalk from Ghaun'mere and writes "magic symbol trap, password is 'Lady Nala'" at an obvious place on the ground. Hope you don't mind, Ghaun'mere.

Charlyl will proceed pass the trap first, using the password. Once on the other side, he will signal the others to follow. He will then quickly check the door for traps (u never know) and listen at the door.

checking traps 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24

listening 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Charlyl, the trap does not go off
you listen at the door for a few rounds and hear various voices at least 4 different ones and they all sound dwarven.
Looking at the door, there are no traps, you can see that it is not locked and the handle just needs to be turned for you to open it, it opens into the room

OOC FYI, this is how i would run a combat where you burst open through a door,
Assumimg that you are not expected, opening a door quickly into a room will suprise the people in it,
one person opens the door and that is their action in the suprise round, everyone else then gets to act and then we go to iniative for round one, if charlyl opens the dooor the rest of you will probably only get to have a move action, (the likelyhood is that this is what you are exppecting to happen but i just want to make sure)

so who is going to open the dooor and does anybody want to cast any spells before the door is opned .
Ravi

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

'4 different voices, all dwarven,' signs Charlyl, "We need to take down as many as possible when we surprise them. Ghaun'mere, you have any more spells that can do that?'

Charlyl personally would like to run into melee since in the opening rounds, his sneak attack would be very effective. If Ghaun'mere and Miu both has spells that can take out a large chunk of the dwarven occupants, however, then Charlyl has no problem opening the door for them.

(Male Drow Noble Conjurer 7)

"I will use Lolth's webs on those within."
Assuming shield and prot from evil are still going, I'll just prep to cast web on the occupants. Holding wand in other hand.

sorry Ghaun, but your spells will have gone down

it takes charlyl one round to check each 5ft square so by the time you
get to the barracks that would be a lot of rounds (15 to 20 mins)

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

If Miu has a spell that can take down multiple duergars, then Charlyl will open the door for everyone. Otherwise, he would like to charge in with Vhorun. Hopefully they're within reach of a charge attack!

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

Assuming Web will be cast, Miu takes her crossbow, loads it and fires it when she can get a decent shot. Otherwise she'll grab her morningstar and fights the first enemy she can reach.

Attack (add 2 if morningstar)1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Vhorun will pretty much do what he is told on this one.
I seems like he is the most unlikely to get anything out of a surprise round he wouldn't get from a normal round (charlyl gets sneak attack, Ghaun and Miu can hit concentrated enemy groups).

Or if Miu is going to shoot a crossbow and not a spell, maybe she should open the door so Vhorun can close to melee quickly?... Err.. I mean Miu should stay out of harms reach and let us risk our lifes for her safety.. Please don't whip me :D

(Male Drow Noble Conjurer 7)

I'll cast blur before we open the doors then.

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

Feeling very courageous Miu will indeed open the door to let the weaker males enter first. It would only be polite wouldn't it?

If possible Vhorun will charge in then.
Attack 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 14 + 2 = 32
Damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Crit
Attack 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 2 = 25
Damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Charlyl will follow Vhorun's lead.

surprise round

Charge atk, dmg, & sneak atk 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 2 = 19

1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7

i have sent a battle map

Suprise round,
miu as you open the door you see various things as mentioned on the map

you suprise the people in the room, it is a male drow sitting at the table, he looks up and looks worried, he does not seem to have any armour or any visible weapons

Mu you can 5 ft step into the room as part of you action

the rest of you cannot attack in the suprise round (unless i have overlooked something) [you cannot charge someone unless you have a clear unobstructed path to them but you can move up to 30ft, you can use your attack rolls in round 1]

Ghaun you can 5ft step (after people in front of you have moved) and cast a spell but the place it is targeted has to be a place you can see

BTW in a suprise round you can only charge up to your normal speed

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Looking at the map, if Miu opens the door, then 5-steps into the room into K20 or K22, does that give Charlyl a clear line of sight to charge duergar 11? If so, that's what he does. If not, then Charlyl will move to N22 and try to kill the wizard the next round while he's still vulnerable.

(Male Drow Noble Conjurer 7)

Stepping into the hallway, Ghaun'mere smiles as he sees the mage. With a flick of his hand he incants his spell. "Lol'thanere"
5ft step 21I and cast web on 21N

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

After opening the door Miu steps into the room (K20) and grins at her opponents in the room while she swings her morningstar and lifts her shield.

confident that she won't be trapped by the web spell...

Ghaun as you can't 5 ft step into 21I until Charlyl moves I will move him first
Charlyl; you cant quite get a clear line of sight so I will move you to N22

Miu you move first into K20

Ghaun where exactly do you want to cast your spell you need to give me two co-ordiantes so it can be cast at an intersect

eg m/n gives a line going down and 20/21 give a line going across and where they meet the spell goes off

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Just took a look at the web spell and realized it has a 20 ft radius. Would appreciate if Ghaun can somehow exclude Charlyl from that radius, but understands if that's not doable. The most dangerous person is the wizard and we need to kill him ASAP.

I'm having some connection problems. Could you NPC me for a day or two?

(Male Drow Noble Conjurer 7)

corner of N,O 19,20. That should miss any of us and still lock the wizard down while leaving the southern wall free.

ok if you're sure Ghaun!
the web goes off
can miu and Charlyl make a reflex save (dc 18 is that right Ghaun?) or be entangled
and can all Pc's read the web description please so they know what will happen if they move

vhorun moves to the door way,

END OF SUPRISE ROUND

round one
on iniative

Charlyl 20
Drow wizard 17
Ghaun'mere 14
Vhorun 14
Miu 13
duergar(11) 10
all other duergar 9

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

saving throw: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Atk & dmg: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

1d10 + 4 + 2d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (8) + 4 + (6, 3) + (6, 6, 1) = 34

Dashing across the room, Charlyl goes straight for the wizard, unimpeded even by the web, and flicks a delicate cut across the wizard's throat.

Gotta love the elf bane.

you forgot to add in the extra 2 points of damage because your weapon counts as a +3 weapon when used against elves!

so i think you do 36 points of damage!
the wizard goes down!

so the rest of the pcs can go in any order

with his high CMB vhorun pushes his way to L21 he hacks at du11
(I will use vhoruns previous roll) vhorun cuts this dwarf in half

(vhorun, FYI, du11 has a mark of rank on him indicating he was a sergeant)

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

Reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

"Cursed wizard! Miu cries out while she gets caught in the webbing.
In her fury Miu takes a swing at the duergar lying in the bunkbed next to her trying to take him out before he does anything.

Attack (in case he isn't helpless): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Spoiler:
I'm looking at spell areas on p. 215 PFRPG. I believe from my coordinates that the red dot hits the wall, I'm emailing you my show of where the spell effect should be.

Ghaun silently waves his wand toward one of the duerger.
move into room in unwebbed area and use wand of acid arrow on a duerger that is not in melee. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

hi people!
i "slightly" got the radius of the web wrong
so i will send a new battlemap
i dont think it affects (too much) what has happened so far

i will assume you hit du9

Vhorun wheels around and slahs down with his sword in two quick moves.

attack 1 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
attack 2 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

damage 1 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
damage 2 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Full attack on du9

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Vhorun, I think the dm already attacked for you this turn (you killed du11, who is no longer on the map). Or are you rolling for ur next turn already?

Raven, I assume all the sleeping duegars don't have armor on?

yeah, i think i got confused. Let's just call it next rounds actions then.

du10 attacks miu, he misses

du8 moves back

all the others disappear!

its round two!
Pcs are up

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

"Beware! They are using invisibility!" Yells Charlyl, who moves to block the exit and goes on full defense, "Someone block the entrance."

Giving Ghaun & Miu a quick gland, "Is there a way for us to see them?"

The exit on this room is not marked. I assume it's at lower right hand corner. Do I need to make an escape artist check to leave the web?

i have marked the exit, just not very clearly (its in red)

you can get to it easily, no need to make a EA

Vhorun tenses and shift to a defensive position and ready a strike at anyone attacking him.

Ready an attack in the direction of anyone attacking him, with combat expertise (ac 22)
attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

I don't know if you can prepare a full attack. if you can here is my second attack

attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

"Cursed dwarfs!" Miu says as she's visibly annoyed.

Uses at-will Faerie Fire on L14. Is concentration check needed? I'll make one in case it is.

1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 3 = 24

"Charlyl you oaf! You know damn well what to do against these kind of stupid tricks. There's no hiding from us!!! Show them what the nobles of our house are capable of!"

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Miu Rilynghym wrote:
"Charlyl you oaf! You know damn well what to do against these kind of stupid tricks. There's no hiding from us!!! Show them what the nobles of our house are capable of!"

hahaha fair enough, but going into total defense requires a standard action, which means if I am to concentrate on blocking the exit, I won't be able to cast anything.

(Female Drow Cleric 7)

hehe, are you trying to reason with female drow logics now? I dare you to do that in character ;) But I get it, forgot about you blocking the exit, good job.

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Reason with female drow logic? I don't even reason with regular female logic!

(Male Drow Noble Conjurer 7)

Ghaun looks to where the duerger disappeared. Smiling, he begins to chant, "Mica'carzerth'szuess"
Stand: cast glitter dust on M/L, 12/13. DC 19 for blindness.
Ongoing acid damage:
2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

the deurgar in L14 (du12) gets hit by a Faerie Fire

and then duergar du1,2,3 4,5,6,7 and 12 get hit by a glitterdust

the duergar previously hit by the acid arrow reapears with a shocked experession and falls over dead!

at the end of pc actions all deurgar can be seen or are dead

i will do duergar actions soon

du 10 takes a swing at miu and misses
du 12 looks like he is trying to put something on
du8 moves through and attacks charlyl and misses
the other duergar seem to be bumping into each other and cursing, they sound very panicked

round 3, pc's are up

(Male Noble Drow Rogue 7)

Atk & dmg on du8: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
