(Female Spellwarped Ghost Elf Witchblade 1(Warlock/Hexblade gestalt))

"I am called Arathalia, Leaf Hysical, I am pleased to meet you. It is good to encounter others wo seek to protect."

"Meanwhile, our poor bereaved mother waits teary eyed for her heroes. I'm Jack, let's walk." Jack strolls overs to the halfling, tips him a gold piece and tells him to get moving.

I meant that all players roll Perception. Sorry.

Zissaren stands, checking his belongings as he does so. He'd learnt very quickly that in this city half the crowd were pickpockets.
"I'm in need of food, so the inn holds double attraction to me. I'll accompany you willingly."

Perception 1d20+6 = 11 Yes! First roll and I get under 10.

Leaf is deep in thought.

perception 1d20+2=12

Watching the Halfling all of you can see tiny beads of perspiration on his forehead and almost imperceptible twitching of his fingers.

Zissaren glances at the halfling as he stands waiting to leave. He makes no remark on the small man's nervousness, but scans the street for any obvious cause. One clawed hand rests gently on the worn handle of his flail.

'nother perception 1d20+6 = 22

Jack leans close to the halfling and says in a low voice, "Just so you know, if you're leading me into a trap, I will kill you slowly and painfully. If I'm merciful, you'll only take a week to die..."

Intimidate: 1d20+7=25

(Male? Lantern Archon, 'Extra' Celestial Gestalt Warlock/Sorcerer(infernal bloodline) 1)

"Unburden yourself to him creature. And all will be well."
Leaf addresses the halfling, but he might just as well have been talking to sky.
aid another 1d20+10=12 had this as diplomacy, only because I can't read. Leaf will try to back up the other PC

Spoiler:
From a doorway down the street someone watches you. A tall someone. Male, you think. Or, at least, dressed in male clothes. You blink... and the figure is gone...

"You think you're so high and mighty, with that fancy clothes and your money, don't you? But the masters are already informed. You can't escape the masters..." spats the beggar angrily at you... and fearfully, and then turns to run away.

Noticing the ‘beggar’ turning to flee, the pixie fades from view and darts forward, the faint sound of fluttering wings the only evidence of his movement. Flying invisibly ahead of the halfling, he scans the street for a way of preventing his target’s escape.

What is the surface of the street like? And how crowded is the area?
Stealth, Perception: 1d20+29=37, 1d20+12=16

Zissaren hisses in surprise and his hand tightens on the flail.
"We are watched and I do not like..."
the sentence trails off as the halfling turns and flees. Zissaren spins on his heel, yanking his flail free and charging after the halfing. He swung the heavy chain at the fleeing figure's legs attempting to trip him.

If the halfling is flatout running I'll charge after him, ending the charge with a trip attempt and if he hasn't got that far just a move action and then the trip attempt.

Trip attempt 1d20+9=16

The street is cobbled with stones, but not in good repair. It was crowded just a minute ago, but most of the people managed to disappear in side streets and alleys when they noticed your confrontation with halfling.

Surprisingly dexterous, Halfling jumps and manages to avoid your attempt to trip him... and then - disappears into thin air!

Shrill sound of whistles fills the street. Turning around you see a squad of constables gathering at the dock and preparing to march in your direction.

Curse my generally low rolls.

Zissaren skids to a stop as the halfling vanishes, letting out a frustrated roar and smashing the head of the flail into the cobbled road in annoyance. He stands still for a few seconds letting his anger fade and drift away before sticking the flail back in his belt and turning to walk back to the rest of the group. As he arrives back he hears the whistles of the constables heading determinedly toward them.
"Thiss might be a good time to leave." he mutters to the others, nodding his head at the approaching men.

Luff can see invisible, did the halfling actually disappear, or is he just invisible?

Spoiler:
He turned invisible and started to run to the end of the street.

"You are right," comes a disembodied voice near the lizard man, "I will find you later at the inn of Yanko."

Nightflier:
Luff launches himself towards the fleeing halfling, gaining altitude as he does so in order to more easily navigate the various obstructions in the street. The pixie quietly follows, keeping his prey within his sights.

do you need another stealth check, or will the first one do?

Luff:

Spoiler:
No need for another check.

Luff::
You watch from the air as the now invisible Halfling flees straight towards the Old Court. From Svetlana's tales you know that the Old Court is the center of Vampire politics in Kaledun and place where they gather for the Silent Ball every year.

Nightflier:
Luff continues to watch until the halfling enters the imposing building, shivering slightly as he remembers what he has been told about the vampires of Kaledun.

Still mulling over the implications of what he has seen, he descends to the street to enquire about the location of the inn where he is to meet the others.

Diplomacy to 'gather information' about Yanko's inn, 1d20+10=13, 1d4=2 - sigh, I don't seem to be able to roll above a 10.

Is this Silent Ball scheduled for sometime soon?

Luff::
Yanko's Inn is fairly well known, so you don't need a check. Silent Ball lasts for a month. It's a month away. That's about all that you can know about that, without Knowledge(local).

(Female Spellwarped Ghost Elf Witchblade 1(Warlock/Hexblade gestalt))

"Well that was unproductive. We shlod move before the authorities arrive no?"

"Separate and meet at the inn a few hours from now? It should not be hard to find."
Not waiting for a reply Zissaren walks quickly away from the group and the approaching constables. He scans the street ahead for any convenient side alleys or bazaar entrances to slip though to get as far from this street as quickly as possible.

If Zissaren escapes without issue he'll head in a circuitous route to the inn arriving a few hours later. He'll also buy some food from a street vendor on the way.

If it doesn't go so smoothly I guess there will be more running and hiding involved.

It seem that the main goal of constables is to disperse perceived troublemakers. They keep the distance from you, but it is obvious that they are also ready to close in if they see the need to do so.

In that case..

Zissaren spots an alley branching off from the road and darts into it.
Walking quickly through he appears on a parallel street and slows his pace. He strolls calmly to the end and takes the next turn that will take him away from the scene of the altercation. Satisfied that he has put enough space between himself and the constables Zissaren looks around for somewhere to get some food.

(Male? Lantern Archon, 'Extra' Celestial Gestalt Warlock/Sorcerer(infernal bloodline) 1)

"Order unmodified by compassion. Interesting. I wonder how these 'guards' will react if provoked?" Leaf asks no-one in particular before casting mage armour and whizzing off to experiment.
From a high vantage point he teleports into likely alleyways ahead of the guards, casts a couple of caltrop cantrips and then teleports back to his vantage point.

There are street vendors everywhere in Kaledun and almost every street has a bakery. You should have no trouble buying food.

Constables are not trying to chase after you. They are obviously interested just in removing you from the street and preventing larger gatherings of people to form.

Those who can fly, Perception check, please

1d20+12=16 These rolls are starting to get annoying...

Far behind the constables you see a tall figure in some kind of black uniform. The sun shines in you eyes, so you can not see anything more, and the figure is surrounded by several others as well, probably senior constables. You can see by their body language that they are arguing about something.

Zissaren buys a still warm loaf of bread from a nearby bakery and strolls along the street munching on his impromptu meal. He asks a nearby street trader for directions to the Yanko Inn and heads off in a circuitous route toward said Inn. About half an hour later he arrives on the street the inn is on and looks around for its sign.

Jack slips away from the larger group and makes his way to one of the outdoor stalls. Asking directions to the Inn, he tips the director a silver piece and heads off toward the inn, keeping an eye on his wallet and over his back.

Inn is easy to find. It's located in a old building, not in good repair, but you can see from the street that it is full of people. It's obvious that the inn is popular.

(Male? Lantern Archon, 'Extra' Celestial Gestalt Warlock/Sorcerer(infernal bloodline) 1)

Leaf links up with Arathalia and {perhaps} they go straight to the inn.

Luff flits along the rooftops towards the street where the inn can be found. Bearing initially towards the old building, he alters his course towards the imposing figure of Zissaren.

"You made it," the pixie says as he appears next to the lizard man, "did the others accompany you?"

"Hello again pixie." Zissaren greets the hovering fey, he shrugs at the question "The otherss made there way here sseparately, they may already be inside."

He continues along the street toward the inn, stopping just outside the inn and holding the door open for the pixie. "My name is Zissaren, pleassed to meet you... Even if the reason for meeting was mildly sstrange."

"Pixie. Lizardman. I am called Jack Ketch, the Marquis De Carrabas! I am here to offer my considerable skills and expertise in the matter of this missing child. I am the soul of consideration."

"Good day Jack, my name is Zissaren. Is that ssarcassm I detect or are you truly consideration perssonified?"

Zissaren steps through the door into the crowded inn, using his above average height to scan the room and try to spot the lost child's mother in the bustle.

Perception Check 1d20+7=26

"Indeed, good Zissaren. I am always and completely sincere in both word and deed. Mere words cannot express my sincerity. What you see is what you get with me, good sir. Have you spotted the mother yet?"

(Female Spellwarped Ghost Elf Witchblade 1(Warlock/Hexblade gestalt))

The door opens and Arathalia strides in with Leaf hovering over her. As the door closes a notable glow rises from the elf in the dim room, completely separate from the glowing ball of light.

Seeing the others assembled she walks towards the group.

"I see we are all here. Where is the woman?"

Sorry, folks. My PC was out of order. I fixed it now, I hope.

Inside of the inn is in better shape than outside. Tables and chairs are worn, but everything is clean and straw on the floor fresh. Most of the people drink bear and eat stew made of pickled cabbage and ham. Inn's patrons are mostly human and you notice several of them casting angry glances towards Jack. It seems that Halflings are not among their favorite races. While you try to find a free table, you hear a shout from one of the benches: "Here! There's a free spot here!" You recognize one of the people from the crowd dispersed by the constables.

"I don't ssee the woman, but perhapss those otherss know her?" Zissaren makes his way carefully through the crowd and takes one of the spare spaces on the bench, trying not to squash or crowd anyone in the process.

"Thank you for the sseat, my name is Zissaren." He sticks a clawed hand out across the table to shake with the man from the crowd earlier.

Man takes your hand and shakes it vigorously. "You folks are either very brave, or you don't have a working brain among you. And that Cocquatrice Knight at the end..."
