I would still rule that you would run into Dakaar and Kadin when you get to the room, and Aaron will pass by again on his way to the lift. Either way, you can still do stuff, though I am sure you are waiting to see if the conversation goes anywhere.

Kadin looks at Dakaar and says "I think you've run into enough surprises this evening. I should come along just in case, better safe, then sorry." Aya comes up the stairs and relates Alcibiades plan to Kadin, Dakaar and Ichabod. All may respond to his idea for qustioning everyone . Aaron comes back up the stairs goes into Auraluna's room to take the elevator down.
Alcibades and David:
Vivi seems placated by your assurances, Cole seems barely aware of his surroundings. he is defiantly in worse shape then her. As you begin to tell her of the cleansing flame, you hear the elevator activate. She looks are you and says, "That is dangerous talk in a city such as this. It is a bit much for me to comprehend at this point. However, I do feel I owe you my life, perhaps we can discuss this at a later time.
Aya says to Dakaar and the others, "I think we definitely need to keep the old lady and the assassin away from the others. What can I do to help? I'd be glad to sit with the daughter and play her a tune to calm her down."

I give them time to rest examining their condition and waiting for the others to arrive. If i have anything they request i think of anything trivial i can to do to help i do so.(I plan to see them out after the elevator gets there. Maybe also some short conversation.)
What did i say specifically that was crossing the line? I think that my character may be more aware of what i was saying then I am as a player. I wanted to phrase it like there are problems that need fixing ... maybe referring to problems that are considered acceptable to talke about.

To Aya:" As long as the two are kept quiet in the other room, I'd try to calm down [the daughter] (ooc dont remember her name!) and see if we cant diffuse this situation. When the authorities get here, our stories need to be straight and we cant have her blaming us for this fiasco.

"I'd be worried about the little runt breaking out of his bonds. Honestly I'd suggest breaking both of his legs so he can't run, but I don't know how well that will go over with everyone else...."

Dakaar and Kadin you soon arrive at the butlers room. You don't hear much from outside. When you open the door and peer into the dark room. perception
Ichabod you continue to stand guard. Peck and Auraluna still seem to knocked out completely.
Aya as you approach Ceseli's door is swings open and you see her look out into the hallway with a determined look on her face.
Aaron you arrive at the secret chamber and the doors slide open.
David and Alcibades:
Vivi continues to nibble on the food you've given her. Cole looks really out of it. Too much exertion and he'll be unconscious again. Vivi eyes the doors nervously as the elevator comes to a rest and slides open. perhaps I made her response a little to intense. just assume she is disposed towards hearing more about your group.

Dakaar calls out to whoever is in the room, and readies himself for another fight.
Aya is going to try to intercept the girl before she exits the room.
3d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4, 5) + 7 = 17
"Ceseli, I'm really sorry, but you need to stay in the room. We caught the assassin and we are making sure the rest of the house is safe. Please come with me."
And I will attempt to lead her back into the room....

Dakaar:
You peer in and see someone sleeping under the covers in the bed. He snorts loudly when you call out.
Aya:
Ceseli follows you back into her bedroom. As you shut the door, she begings blurting out questions about what happened and how is her mother, etc.
Aclibades, Aaron, and David:
Aaron emerges from the elevator and suggests that you take the victims upstairs. Vivi is clearly relieved when he enters and seems pleased by this suggestion.
Ichabod:
You hear your fellows departe. Peck seems like he is still sleeping. You hear Auraluna speak "I do not know what you think you are doing, but release me now! I will not be responsible for the consequences if you do not." 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) + 18 = 29 You sir, are intimidated and very disposed to do as she says.
Aaron What is the situation up there? And what is the plan? After that explaination finishes I as..."Aaron you take up Cole with David then send David back down with the elevator and then Viva, David, and I will meet you up there."
"Arluna and her little backstabber are both in her room knocked out by a sleep spell. Lucky thing that, Ichabod was in bad shape and that woman is more dangerous then we could have thought. And actually Aicibales I need David's assistance here and it's not something these two poor souls should have to see." I lean in and whisper, "I have a theory about who is under one of these tombs, and it's important if we are to be believed later. Understand?"
Can i fit in the elevator with viva and cole? If i can i will take them both up. Otherwise i will bring vivi up and then come back down for cole. I will try to find one of my friends to leave vivi with...specifically dakaar or Aya
Aya tells Ceseli that her mother is safe and protected. She also mentions that the assassin has been caught and we are interrogating him to find out more information. Aya asks Ceseli about herself, what she does, how long she's lived in the house. Also, after some general questions I'll ask about her mother and whether anything strange has been happening in the house? The goal is to find out whether Ceseli knew anything about the prisoners or if she was suspicious of, or thinks anyone else has been involved in wrong doing.
XperimentalDM(Squidmen Squidlarkin Bard 3/Eccentric artist 2/Groumet chef 6)
Aya:
She comes into the room and sits on her bed. She seems to be settled down a bit. "No nothing strange has happened before tonight. Sometimes, I thought I heard noises, but mother said it was just the house foundations settling. "
Ichabod:
You find yourself untying Auraluna's bonds, she is after all an old woman, right? She speaks at you, making a slight gesture, "now be a dear and rouse poor little peck would you?" WILL SAVE
Dakaar and Kadin:
You enter the room. Poking at the mound in the bed you see Barnsworth sit up with a snort and a mask over his eyes, "Who is it? Whose there? My god, I've gone blind!"
Alcibades et al.:
The elevator could hold all three if you squeezed in, but that would slow the elevators ascent. In either case some of you are going up. Are you stopping in the dining room or in Auraluna's bedchambers?
Aaron:
Other than physical injuries the party seem fine. Vivi and Cole are malnourished, but otherwise unharmed. Cole is barely conscious though and should be moved slowly.
We all go and stop first floor. I call out (yell as needed) for dakaar...aya...ichabod... i tell them i would like an update ... but for one of them to come without any of the other members
Aya tells Ceseli to remain on her bed, and goes to lock her door. Aya returns to the bed, and tells her that we need to remain in the room for a while.
"Those noises you heard, Ceseli, I think you were right. There is a secret room in the house, below the basement. Bad things were happening there. I'm not completely sure how involved your mother was, but we need to be very careful right now. Were you aware of a hidden room?"
Aya tries to convey the seriousness of the situation without revealing too much of her mother's involvement at once. She actively tries to monitor whether Ceseli is getting agitated and if so, pulls back and tries to calm her.
... This is what I get for neglecting my email for too long...
Also, I appologize, but my character sheet is currently inaccessable (I have some remodeling going on.) As such, I'm estimating my bonsuses below... but I'm being conservative just in case.

3d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 6, 4) + 14 = 30
"Yes yes, you're blind. You are also a suspect. Someone is in very deep trouble. Come with me and it won't get any worse for you, yet."
Dakaar grabs the butler by the arm and leads him to the rest of the party.
XperimentalDM(Squidmen Squidlarkin Bard 3/Eccentric artist 2/Groumet chef 6)
Dakaar:
Kadin follows as Dakaar drags Barnsworth by the arm, "Oh my! Where are we going?", you hear Alicabdes call from the Dining room. You enter to find him there with what would seem to be the two individuals from the basement. The lift is open behind him.
Alcibades:
You see Dakaar and Kasdin enter the dining room. Dakaar is pulling Barnsworth behind him. Barnsworth is wearing a dressing gown and has a sleeping mask over his eyes. He seems very confused.
Aya:
"No. I had no idea it was there. How did you find it? She seem agitated, and very confused.
Ichabod:
It doesn't apply in this case. I treated her as hostile since she did threaten you. You start to find yourself thinking that the old women might have just made a mistake in the dark, then you realize she did threaten the group while tied, even if only vaguely so. She looks at you and says, "Wake him, and give me a blade...I want to make the little runt pay for what he's done to my family." You get the vague sense that she is hiding something, but her desire to do vengeance seems genuine, and she is very convincing.
Diplomacy 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) + 16 = 25
"I'm really sorry to keep you here, I'm sure you have tons of questions that I cannot answer. What I do know is that we were called here to protect your family from an assassin. In the process of securing the house, we discovered a hidden room. There was a large creature and some people down there. The creature tried to kill us. We're not sure who let the creature inside, but the creature has been disposed of. What I'm confused about is that the only way to access it is through the elevator. Either case, we need to stay here until someone comes for us. Would you like to hear a song in the meantime?"
Aya pulls out her mandolin awaiting her answer and any comments she might have.

"The slasher is tied up, upstairs with the old lady. He seems like he might be able to wriggle out of his bonds, so we need to keep an eye on him. Maybe break his legs to be sure. "
La La La waiting game still sucks. Hmm i guess you could look around. Try to use the wand of stone shape and/or break the stone around the "people".
Ichabod:
Pop quiz hot shot! What do you do? What do you do?!
aya:
Ceseli seems soothed by your playing, but nervous. She rocks gently on the bed.
Kadin "While I agree that halfling needs to be watched, we are NOT breaking his legs. There could be serious trouble if a prisoner is mishandled."
Barnsworth: "NO don't break a poor blind old man's legs! Please!"
Alcibades and Dakaar you are in the dining room with the suspect and the victims. Its up to you now.
I think i am with Kadin...Dakaar and Barnsworth...Vivi and Cole
"There is no need to break Barnsworth's legs. I will tie Barnsworth to me while we look around if you have some rope dakaar. Barnsworth is that ok with you to walk around with me for a little while? I apologize for my friends idea. He was mostly joking but there has been a lot of strange things going on this house."
Diplomacy: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) + 5 = 14
I tell Barnsworth i believe some legal troulbe may becoming. Can you tell me anymore that is been going on here? If he doens't tell me anything about prisoners or the elevator to the lower level. I will not mention what is going on down there.
I ask vivi and cole where they live and a little about their houses and how i can get in touch with them in future. I tell them this is because there will be some legal trouble here and we will needed witnesses but right now i want to get them home. I make sure to at least get out of Cole where he lives.
"Kadin will you take these two home while we finish up here? I understand you do not fully trust me but i will try to make sure no unneeded harm comes to anyone. We need to get these to home safely. Especially Cole i think he needs to see a doctor as soon as possible i fear for his health." Diplomacy: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 6, 6) + 5 = 20
Assuming Kadin agrees to take them home once those two are gone i tell dakaar to update me on the way to find the Old woman.
Speaking slowly (stalling) and as loudly as I can manage without arousing suspicion, I'll debate the situation to myself outloud for Auraluna to hear:
"You want me to wake the halfling and give you a 'blade'? I am your employee for the evening, but I must advise you against both actions. First, as demonstrated by the halfling's history, this man is adept at getting out of bonds. Waking him would be most dangerous as those ropes may be unlikely to defend us from him. Killing the man while he sleeps may be unchivalrous, but under the current circumstances, I think it's the wise thing to do. But that brings us to the second point. Killing this man would be a gift the the people of the town, but it would leave your hands bloodied and on the wrong side of the law. There is a townguardswoman downstairs who will feel quite obligated to give this villian the full due process of the law. I'm inclined to agree with her, as I love the thrill of a when run trial and execution (and I think there's sufficient evidence to ensure an execution in this case.) Still, as I am your employee at the moment, I will defer to your judgement on the matter on whether to kill the naive or not. I will suggest, however, that you convince your daughter to kill him. Her desire for vengeance should, seemingly, exceed your own. And, if she kills the man, most people wouldn't blame her and your hands would be entirely free of involvement."
I'll give her a few seconds to respond before I continue rambling...
*facepalm* no. Up above kadin thinks I mentioned breaking Barnesworthe's legs, and so does Alcibades, I am correcting this

Ichabod:
Auraluna looks you in the eye and says, "Normally I would enjoy watching my enemies suffer public humiliation, but he has escaped the authorities once already. Those fools wouldn't even send an official guard. As for Ceseli... she doesn't have the stomach for this. Let me do what must be done." You can tell she is over anxious to deal with this. You are not certain why.
Alcibades, Dakaar, et al:
Barnsworth: "What? Legal trouble. Lady Auraluna should have all the tax payments in order. What is happening? I can think of nothing unusual since the slicer was captured, other then you're arrival."
Vivi:"My family's manor is near the southern edge of the island. If you send someone I'm sure we can arrange to meet later. I am anxious to leave, but perhaps we can wait until dawn. I don't like the thought of traveling in the night."
Kadin: "She has a point. They are in no condition to travel at night. If we run into trouble, there is no telling what might happen. It might be a good Idea to have Aya take a look at them. Perhaps she can heal them."
Aya:
perception check
Aaron and David:
Man this stinks. It smells like burnt dog hair. Oh right.
To Kadin: Don't you take a 'statement' or something from these witnesses and victims? They could help clear things up for the storm that is about to come our way.
Sense Motive on Barnsworth: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 3) + 4 = 9
Kadin: Good point i wasn't thinking about the time. Maybe you Vivi and Cole can go rest in the Dinning room. You can take down a statement from Vivi and Cole. Aya has already healed there smaller wounds I beleive they will need more long term care if they are to fully recover.
Barnsworth: Since everyone is up and about do you think you could make breakfast for everyone? These two looked awfully haggard and could use a good meal. Diplomacy: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 2, 1) + 5 = 13 (It is not 100 percent being asked as a question but not really a threat either. Just more of an assumpton he will listen because it is the correct thing to do.)
Dakaar: I want to go check out what is going on upstairs. Maybe you can "Help" (meaning keep an eye) on Barnsworth as he cooks.
Assuming no one disagrees vigorasly I start heading upstairs. Then state remember your signal whistles if there is trouble.
I go to find Arluna and the Slicer and anyone else who may be upstairs.

I'll stand and guard Barnesworthe.
DM:
If I get some moments alone with barnesworthe, I will inquire casually about the house, and try to slip in any questions about the wealth, where its kept, etc.
Kadin: "Taking their statements would be a good idea. I'll take them over to the sitting room for now. " She leads Vivi and Cole to the room through the west doorway.
Barnsworth: " I'll try, but how can I make breakfast BLIND?!" He starts stumbling around the dinning room.
Aya:
You hear Ichabod talking to someone in Auraluna's room. The details are fuzzy, but something about waking someone, a blade, and a trial.
Alcibades heads upstairs.
Dakaar you follow Barnsworth as he stumbles about. He cautiously tells you about his history with the manor. He has served the Dromdal Family for many many years. The house has also been in the family for some time. He looks sad as he mentions the numerous repairs he has planned.

For those who left or couldn't make the open RPG session
I believe the totals I said were
700xp
And 750gp (to be honest some of that is an adjustment to make the party closer to average wealth for 2nd level.)
You can do things like buy gear and what not. You get a little downtime. I will present a few sort of epilogue notes on the incident.
Note Areal offered to make potions at cost. Any 1st or 2nd level spell from the cleric list.
I am going to look into items but i have not done that yet. I will let you know when i have a chance to buy some.
David: How much money do i owe you for singal whistles? I forgot.
I make my plan known to try to approach the Tiefling gang and see what happens. I see if Dakaar and Aaron want to come with me and tale me from behind to see what happens. I will approach the Tieflings and that can just make sure to be around the area. If i get into trouble i will try blowing the single whistle. If they don't hear from me once they see me exit then can head out and meet me back at the chruch.
I make the suggestion to Aya to offer aid perhaps with kadin to the people who have been struck with misfortune by the gang. I tell her that maybe you could offer some healing to them and offer some protection while we try to find more information. Remember to tell them you are from the cleansing flame and you are here to help the down trodden or some such thing.
I will (assuming Areal tells me where i am going) head towards the Tiefling gang. If i see anyone out front that looks like they are a part of the group i will try to talk to them. If not i will knock on the front door. I would prefer to find a tiefling hanging outside so i will loiter around for 30 minutes to see if i see any tieflings.
(Arron and Dakaar let me know if you are hanging out nearby or if i am on my own... I assume you to both have stealth ... if i am wrong they you may not want to come. We do not travel there 'together')
I am going to post general things i want to know / would like to buy. Some of which my character should know even if i don't. Some of which i will find out in between other things.
1. I am curious the prices we negotiated with the victims of the robbings / other tradesman... we negotiating a discount.
2. I remind Dakaar and possible Aaron to get theives tools and a crowbar. Maybe a grappling hook... guard dog ... other animals...
3. I buy a 1xcrowbar... 7xOil...3 X caltrops...5xMarbles... a belt pouch.
4. I suggest the group buy and keep at the church a couple of picks, shovels, and a portable ram...sledge
5. What spells can be made into potions? Specifically, I am curious about zone of truth but i am also curious about many other spells.
6. I need to know more about the prices of the slave trade. I am fairly certain i am going to buy a slave or two.
7. I am also interested in hirelings:
Coach cab 3 cp per mile
Hireling, trained 3 sp per day
Hireling, untrained 1 sp per day
Messenger 2 cp per mile
Road or gate toll 1 cp
Ship's passage 1 sp per mile
Spellcasting Caster level × spell level × 10 gp3
I would like hirelings that are trained in combat. It says here 3 sp a day ... i think that is a minimum but i would assume 3-5 sp should get some ok 0 level whatevers ... or level 1 npc ... Do i know of any places to hire them? Do i need to just look around?
8. We mentioned some sort of banks before. Do we have any more information on that i would like to make use of one. How secure is it to use?
9. Does Aarael have a safe place to store funds?
10. Does the party want to combine funds to get a party assesst...besides the mundane ones: Type I 15 lbs. 250 lbs. 30 cubic ft. 2,500 gp. Or for slightly cheaper...Handy Haversack
Aura moderate conjuration; CL 9th
Slot —; Price 2,000 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
In fact, each is like a bag of holding and can actually hold material of as much as 2 cubic feet in volume or 20 pounds in weight. The large central portion of the pack can contain up to 8 cubic feet or 80 pounds of material. Even when so filled, the backpack always weighs only 5 pounds.
I want to look up information about the creature we saw in the sewers... the one i spoke to ... that was trapped.
I also wanted to see what it would cost / how much time it would take to make a specialized tower shield. With a hole to look out of and one ot breath out of. If the one to breath out of was large i was hoping for a some kind or grate to be put in ... and reinforced so it didn't weaken the overall structure of the shield.
Okay that's a lot of stuff and I don't think I understand everything... :p
How much can areal make a potion of owl's wisdom for? (If he has the necessary domain for cat's grace, I'm more interested in those)
First off, Yes as a first order of business, Dakaar will buy a set of masterwork thieves' tools.
I'll replenish my shuriken and oil and caltrop and rope supplies ( ill have the numbers for our next session).
J: I sent you some private business in an email :P
Dakaar would strongly suggest against openly walking up to the Tieflings without recon or investigating. For all we know theyll just try and outright kill you.
To David in private:
David The Ggggnome:
To David the Gnome: I have something you may be interested in, in exchange for a favor to be disclosed at a later date.
(A shield with no Armor check penalty or arcane spell failure which you could essentially use for free and help you out a bit. Its also shiny :p)
Dakaar makes sure he gets his manacles back from Auraluna.
Dakaar is going to start looking for a local supplier or sources of plant ingredients and alchemy supplies. I'd like to get a lab setup in the safehouse, and I need to find a place to obtain poisons. This is sort of top priority for Dakaar inbetween our break.
Dakaar has some comments on alc's other plans, Ill get to this in the next post.
To Ichabod in private:
Ichabod:
I have some documents you may be interested in that I found in the mansion. I'd be glad to share them with you if you agree to repay me the favor at a later date.
Alcibades:
"I don't think you are thinking this through. If you want to go off and try to get killed, I wish you luck, but we need to come up with some sort of plan. I can perhaps follow you and observe, but if you are in an inescapable situation.... You are on your own. You should reconsider and we should approach as one."
To everyone else:
"The party is in a much stronger position diplomatically when backed up by full force. If we go, we should go as one, or not at all."
If Alcibades goes anyways, Dakaar will follow out of sight and provide recon, but is not about to rush to his doom.
///////////////// Moving along!
Dakaar will also pen a note to his guild and ask for a low ranking trainer/instructor to meet him at the safehouse, promising new recruits to come for later in exchange for helping his endeavors. (ooc:If theres any way I could get some poison ingredients that way, id go for that...)

Dakaar believes the Cleansing Flame should come to the aid of the merchants, and to help facilitate the flame cleaning up the streets, we will buy and sell with them at an improved rate(60% sell, say 75% buy), as well as enter into a trade agreement with them. We will occasionally have a business arrangement that will require them to supply or purchase supplies from a source of our choosing, at fair prices of course.
As far as why they should help: "Obviously, we will try our best, but without much needed supplies, our valliant fighters will surely fall and there will be none to protect you from the bastards murdering you in the middle of the night."
Dakaar in general agrees to there being a good idea to have a sledge hammer picks and shovels, as a general rule.
Dakaar would definately like to get some guard dogs, and hopefully hire a trainer to train them. It would provide excellent protection, and help with our (not yet existant) patrols of trainees.
When we have more wealth, Dakaar would suggest some climbing gear and grappling hooks, as these could help the less athletic party members get over obstacles.
To Alcibades, and the others: "If we make it known that we offer slaves a path to redemption and bettering themselves, it may gain us favor. We could purchase slaves and allow them to earn their way into respectable lives by fighting for the cleansing flame. This must be a separate operation and they must never know of any other plans. It is too easy for the Hellknights or others to plant one among us. Are you volunteering, Alcibades, to handle the ahm 'Footsoldiers' of our organization?"
"As part of our uniform message and effectiveness, I suggest we form a standard platoon or group that would take to the streets and fight for the cleansing flame. Perhaps a few footsoldiers, a scout, a dog or two, and a medic. If we equipped them smartly, we would surely be successful. "
"I've been hired to fight against those in power before, and know something of guerrilla warfare. Traps. Ambushes, and constant mobility are key. If we could teach others to ambush the hell knights and their ilk, disrupt their supply and organization, it would surely take its toll."

I am going to post general things i want to know / would like to buy. Some of which my character should know even if i don't. Some of which i will find out in between other things.

Hireling, trained 3 sp per day
Hireling, untrained 1 sp per day
