Shuriken Joins in on the meal, the only "spells" she could "cast" were parlor tricks developed for cheap entertainment. she had sweated in desperation quite a bit during that written test, so she tries to drink more water than she eats, bread or cheese, she wasn't too hungry as much as she was thirsty, she doesn't eat that much at the moment, but she drinks as much water as she can get, either by asking permission, or by sleight of hand. she was still digesting most of her massive meal from the crimson coin.
sleight of hand check (if applicable) (to steal extra portions of water without getting caught)
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
stealth check (to mask or hide any signs of her attempts)
20 + 8 = 28
diplomacy check (if applicable) (to ask for the pitcher of water after getting caught, should her impossibly high stealth be beaten)
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
if these checks apply, shuriken should have easily snuck plenty of extra water, without getting caught. the diplomacy check is only applicable if she got caught by means of the other 2 being beaten. i don't think anyone at the table has a high enough perception to catch her in the act. she could easily frame someone else right now. if she wanted to.
NIK goes to her hold habits of serving the people at the table. She pays special attention to her noble protector Alexian and to her host Darstave: breaking their bread, handing them their water and cheese, big smiles as she serves them. Then she remembers how Daryan gave her this new idea for a dance so she serves him well too, then the shy Zeldin who gave her a nice look, then Samant who amuses her with his big club and awkward ways, then Garion who seems to like her beloved Desna!
Thank you Zeldin murmers to Nik when she brings him more food.
Calix:
This is a perception roll to see if I notice Shuri's actions. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 If I do, I do not say anything or let on in any way, curious as to why someone would steal something that seemed to be being given in abundance.
Shuriken: For what you're talking about, it would just be a sleight of hand check, not stealth (and you seem to have missed '1d' from your stealth check anyway).
While Merisyl remains completely oblivious to Shuriken's actions, both Ferrilinth and Darstave seem to have noticed. They exchange a puzzled glance with each other, but don't comment on the girl's furtive behavior.
The Taldan noble taking the tests alongside you has remained rather quiet since the tests began, eating the bread and cheese without speaking. You can make sense motive checks if you like.
remember the meal at the crimson coin? that was Shuriken's first meal in 3 days, anyone who would remember that would know why she is trying to steal the water. this is pretty much the first serving of fresh water she possibly had in almost 4 days. she would appear obviously thirsty, especially after sweating so desperately in the written test. she would definitely need the water enough to make the sleight of hand check, and observation would quite obviously show it. she is trying to replinish almost 4 days worth of expended bodily fluids, the judges would probably have noticed this as well with thier huge perception modifiers. if she isn't dehydrated yet, she'd appear awefully darn close. maybe the judges wouldn't care, possibly out of sympathy
Zeldin thanks the young woman and helps himself to some of the food. He tries to make conversation with Daryan.
Greetings priest of Irori. Or should I say, I assume you are such because of your garb. I am Zeldin Tarr, and I would that you would tell me of your God.
Daryan gives a curt nod to Nik as she hands him a plate and engages Zeldin in a conversation about Irori. "I have followed Irori's teachings all my life. His teachings and practices can lead us to achieve self-enlightenment. What faith do you follow?"
Spellcraft 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Sense Motive 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Garion apologizes to Merisyl for making a mess, then accepts the food from Nik with a murmurred "Thank you." He eats quickly then gets another from the tray.
Lathario seems to be quite frustrated by the test so far, it looks like he might not be doing very well.
Zeldin:
If you’re just trying to get a sense of the room, then you don’t need any other rolls, but if you want to start asking questions then you’ll need a diplomacy roll.
I’ll not say anything for the other characters, that’s really up to them, but you get the sense that the judges all know each other very well and have been running these tests for some time.
After you have all eaten, Ferrilinth moves towards the door, ”If you’re all ready, the next test will take place outside in the training arena. Follow me.” With that, he leaves the room and leads you back through the maze-like corridors of Skyreach out onto an open, dirt-floored field ringed by simple wooden benches. Near the centre of the arena stand three padded training dummies and a few small groups of Pathfinders sit chatting on the benches.
His appetite appeased, Alexian walks confidently into the arena, going into his pre-battle workout routine, stopping for a moment to nod in acknowledgement at the other Pathfinders in the area.
NIK strides into the arena thinking "FINALLY something physical!".
She poses next to the dummies, putting on a blank dummy look
And they say only blondes are dummies! giggles
Samant enters the traiing ground and pulls his club. It basically looks like a large tree limb tapered down to a leather wrapped hilt. A small loop hangs at the end so he can attach it to his back pack while walking. He does some warmups away from everyone, not wanting to risk hitting anyone.
Hey guys! Do u know what s the difference between a blonde and a training dummy?
When the dummy's head turns NIK is soooo surprised,
IHHHHH!!! YIKESSS!!!!!!!!!
NIK jumps and draws her dagger, goes 2 hide behind Alexian!
Shuriken reaches into one of her sleeves and pulls out a wand sized Baton that showed no magical powers whatsoever. it also appeared too plain to be a wand. it appeared to be a light bludgeoning weapon used in the far east. only, it was made of steel.
she still has another steel baton in her other sleeve and a Tanto in each sleeve. also. i'd like to ask this question. are the dummies sneak attackable?
The elven man steps forward to the edge of the arena, "Once you are ready, your task will be to disable these animated training dummies with whatever means you have at your disposal, are you prepared to begin?"
Lathario listens to the elf, then moves into the arena drawing a decorative curved blade, "I am ready."
Here is a map, is everyone okay with your positions?

Alexian nods at the elven man; his blade hissing as it comes free of his scabbard.
shuriken had one of her steel batons in her hand. it looked completely plain and mundane, but it was her more damaging but less versatile weapon. for the reverse, she would have to use her tantou. if she has to go first, she will delay (not ready) her turn until the moment someone can set her up for flank.
i am not trained in knowledge (Arcana), the reason i asked was because i need to know before i roll any damage rolls. by RAW, the only non-sneak attackable corporeal creatures are elementals. i don't think these are, i'll just safely assume i can sneak attack them.
i dislike my uber initiative, it denies me a chance to flank

Delay your turn till I or someone else goes, that way you can capitalize on it.

why do the positions look so videogamey? they practically look like the AI from Luminous Arc set them up. i will save you plenty of questions, Luminous Arc was a Turn Based RPG by Atlus Entertainment published for the Nintendo DS. it is like Final Fantasy Tactics with the difficulty cranked up to 11 and no class change nor allied generic characters and has a heavy Salem witch Trails Theme
question: if I delay like u say Alexian, lets say until your turn, does it mean I go on "4" just after you move or one step later on "3" ... hope the qestion makes sense! :-)

if you delay, you can take your turn at any later point in the round, but doing so resets your initiative. if you delay and don't do anything for a whole round, the turn is lost and you continue from your current initative. basically it's either you act later or lose that delayed turn when your next one pops up.

Yea it's exactly how Shuriken says, so you would go on 3.
Got it! ThanX! one more question: if I was to do that and go on 3, lets say one of the dummy rolled a 3 on his initiative. Who would go first between him and me?

Actually I forget what the rules are in Pathfinder for tied initiatives...that Calix might have to answer.
If two characters roll the same initiative, the one with the higher modifier acts first, or they roll again to decide who is first if they have the same modifiers. If you delay your action, you can choose whether to go either before or after someone with your new initiative.
For the purposes of sneak attack damage when you're not sure if it applies, roll it anyway and I'll either apply it or ignore it. In case your weapon deals a d6 damage, I'll assume the later roll is your sneak attack damage.
So far I really like it. I kinda wish things would move faster but then again I guess everyone has 2 deal with their life, work and all that! Me I m the first 2 realize that! The most free time I have is usually weekday afternoons! So that probabli sucks 4 most people
Yea it can move slowly, but sometimes it speeds up all of a sudden and there's like tons of posts. I'm usually around cpu's all day at work and at home so it's easier for me to post often...glad you're having fun, me too :)
