(Male Half-elf Assassin 13)

I looked it up, and I can take free actions while dazed, so Sebastian has 1 shroud.

Jolted by the journeyman's strange attack, Rusty notices his immediate foe has been hurt as well.

"You would even harm your own? Is there no honor at all among you villains?"

OOC:

Standard : Reaping Strike on Bolter

Attack : 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

Damage : 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

If I miss, I still do 5 damage.

HP 52/ 77 , Surges 7/11, AP 1

Nayce - yes, you're right. My apologies. I also looked it up and meant to post it.

Disgusted by the indiscriminate attacks, Rusty's own blow lacks its usual precision. Even so, he adds to the Bolter's growing collection of wounds.

The spined devil bites viciously at Isari and flies to the next boiler.

1d20+11=19. Misses.
Isari gets and OA on Spined Devil as it flaps away.

Bombarded on all sides, Hronagar opens his mouth impossibly wide and bites Quillan. The smell of death and decay joins the aroma of burning hair and hot metal.

Devouring Bite (Fort). On hit, Hronagar regains hp equal to half the damage.
1d20+9=27. Hits.
3d8+5=20
20 necrotic damage to Quillan. Hronagar regains 10hp.

1d20+2=17. Save v daze.

NOTE: To end encounter, any creature not target of Quillan's Oath of Emnity gains vulnerable 5 to all damage to end it's next turn if it ends its turn adjacent to Quillan.

Hronagar (armoured beast - Hr) - under Quillan's Oath of Emnity; under Isari's Aegis of Shielding; dazed (se); slowed to end Nayce's next turn

Isari's shield should reduce the last damage to me by 7.

Quillan sidesteps out of his current position, his axe glowing with a keener edge than a moment before. With a quick blessing, sparks begin to fly from the edge before Quillan brings his axe down.

Then he calls upon his dwarven reserves of strength to renew his vigor.

Move Action: Shift to I11

Standard Action: Sparking Wounds on Hr w/ OoE

  • 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26 vs. AC
  • 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22 vs. AC
  • 1d12 + 1d6 + 23 ⇒ (2) + (1) + 23 = 26 damage and on a hit, at the end of the target’s next turn, each enemy adjacent to the target takes 5 fire and lightning damage, and if no enemies are adjacent to it, the target takes 5 fire and lightning damage.
  • DAMAGE REROLL: 1d12 + 1 + 23 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 23 = 34 damage.

Minor Action: Second Wind; Quillan spends a healing surge and gains +2 to all defenses until the beginning of his next turn.

    Current HP: 50/74

  • As Quillan attempts to shift away, Hronagar strikes unexpectedly, seeking to hold the dwarf in place. The urgrosh clangs down in Quillan's path, keeping him where he is. The avenger's reaction is immediate and brutal, bloodying Hronagar in return.

My bad. This should have applied to Amenephus when he shifted as well. Comes into play from now on. Master of the Field (AC) (immediate interrupt). When an adjacent enemy attempts to shift way.
1d20+8=25. Hronagar v Quillan. Hits. Quillan goes nowhere.
    1d8+5=13
    13 damage to Quillan.

Well that would've been nice to know. :P
Luckily my first roll was the good one, since I wouldn't have been able to use Oath of Enmity in that case.

    Current HP: 30/74 (bloodied...again)

    (Male Human Swordmage/Wandering Swordmage 11)

    OA: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

    1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

    Also, Quillian took 7 less damage from Hronagar's Devouring Bite. Note: 2 Temp HP. EDIT: Crit, total damage is 17 + 2d6 ⇒ 17 + (6, 2) = 25

Once again, my apologies for missing powers. There are a ton of these things and they all do different stuff. It's no excuse really, though and I'll try to keep better track.

Isari's blade efficiently bloodies the devil as it flees.

    Rev DM

    Spoiler:
Sorry - I'm posting out of turn, but may be tied up for much of today, and don't want to hold everyone up!

Amenephus notes Nayce's unfortunate situation, and provides succour to his comrade:

    Healing word on Nayce: he can spend a healing surge + (6) + (5) = 11hp

Amenephus then turns his attention to Hronagar:

Sacred Flame v Hr: 1d20+9 v Reflex; 1d6+5 radiant damage.

    Rolls: (11)+9 = 20 v Reflex; (5)+5 = 10 radiant damage.

If that hits, Quillan can have 6 temp hp.

Amenephus is currently on 53 out of 66 hp.

    All

    Spoiler:
Can you all rustle me up a wish list up to level 13. Bung it in your profiles.

Duly noted Amenephus. Dorvin is up.

    (Male Half-elf Assassin 13)

Thanks for the heal! Now 49 out of 57 and no longer bloodied.

    (Male Dwarf Warlord 10)

Shift to J10. Lead by Example. Attack Hronagar vs AC.

    1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

    2d10 + 7 ⇒ (4, 9) + 7 = 20

Hit: allies gain combat advantage against the target until the start of your next turn.

Miss: Two allies within 5 squares of you can each shift 1 square and make a basic attack as a free action.

Dorvin cries "At 'em! Let none stand this day!"

Hronagar tries and fails to stop Dorvin shifting. Nor can he do anything to withstand the mighty blow from the warlord.

Amenephus keeps his cool and politely suggests to his deity that Nayce needs healing. He is less successful against Hronagar, who ducks aside from the lance of divine light sent in his direction.

    Knives of the Mountain recharges

From his perch on top of the boiler, Sebastian waggles an admonitory finger at Dorvin.

"Now, now. No call for heroics. All you have to do is walk out of the door."

    Betraying Implements (Will).
    1d20+12=27. Sebastian v Dorvin. Hits.
    1d8+5=8
    8 damage to Dorvin.

More shards of rock streak towards the companions, but this time, Sebastian takes the trouble to avoid targeting his own allies. It does him no good as all the stones fall short of their intended targets.

[ooc]Knives of the Mountain (AC). Burst 3 within 10. Centred on M9
    1d20+12=22 - Sebastian v Amenephus. Misses
    1d20+12=19 - Sebastian v Dorvin. Misses
    1d20+12-23 - Sebastian v Quillan. Misses.

The Hammerer shifts to flank Rusty and whales into the dragonborn with his warhammer. He too misses.

    1d20+11=18 - Hammerer v Rusty. Misses.

"Why am I surrounded by incompetents?" sighs the Journeyman, to nobody in particular. Sebastian shoots him a filthy look in return.

    Isari, old chap?

    (Male Human Swordmage/Wandering Swordmage 11)

Sorry. I apparently missed yesterday's update.

Isari slides down the side of the machine and lowers a noose of electricity around the hammerer's neck, pulling him away from Rusty.

Move to I15, and using Lightning Lure on the hammerer, pulling him to J14 if it hits. So, I'll keep the hammerer busy until Rusty kills the bolter, then I'll go pull the devil off of those machines. (vs Fort) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

    1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

    Or I could fail miserably.

Isari returns to ground level and tries to distract the bolter. He is successful to some extent as the dwarf backs away from Rusty.

1d20=1. And spectacularly fails his save v daze.

The Journeyman swings his whip towards Isari, trying to gather the comrades into a tidy heap. The whip snakes across the floor, but Isari is too wary to be caught by such an obvious move.

Deceiver's Gambit (Ref). Minor. Reach 3. On hit target slides 4 squares.
    1d20+11=14 - Journeyman v Isari. Misses.

Nayce attempts to choke the life out of Hronagar with his noose yet again.

    Executioner's Noose on Hronagar. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 vs Fortitude. 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 force damage on a hit. On a hit he is slowed until the end of my next turn.

I also put another shroud on Sebastian.

    Save vs. dazed 1d20 ⇒ 17

OOC: I'll be offline for a while soon, so I'll post out of turn

Standard : Reaping Strike vs Ha

    Attack 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
    Damage 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

    5 damage if I miss.

Nayce's noose pulls tight around Hronagar's neck, as the beast struggles for breath.

The goldspawn spread out and attempt to pepper Isari with crossbow shots.

    v AC.
    1d20+12=30. G1 v Isari. Hits. 9 damage.

    1d20+12=13. G5 v Isari. Misses.
    9 damage to Isari.

Rusty smashes efficiently at the Hammerer, rocking the dwarf with the sheer force of his attack.

Up on the boiler, the Spined Devil cackles and sends a barrage of spikes cascading towards Isari.

v Ref. On hit makes a secondary attack v Fort. On hit, target takes 5 ongoing poison and is slowed (se both)
    1d20+9=23 - Spined Devil v Isari. Hits.

    Damage from primary attack: 1d10=5.
5 damage to Isari, 5 ongoing poison and slowed (se both)

Hronagar shifts towards Nayce and unleashes his Urgrosh whirlwind on his nearest foes, nearly demented with pain. The weapon screams through the air, but only Nayce is unfortunate enough to catch the creature's wrath. Screaming, the great mouth opens and he swings again at the assassin before leaning in and biting him. As the great jaws close on nothing, the last effect of Quillan's attack kicks in and he sparks and smoulders briefly, adding to his wounds.

    Spoiler:
Looking up, you see a small steam valve set into the wall the small orange rectangle. You realise that if you can get up there, this or any other of the valves could be opened, releasing hot steam into the surrounding area.

Specifically, it will release steam in a close blast 3, blinding everyone in the area. It requires a move and a standard to open the valve.

Quillan circles around his prey and then, with spirit guardians surrounding him and axe glowing red with battle lust, he strikes.

Move Action: Move to H10, avoiding OAs

Standard Action: Bond of Retribution on Hr w/ OoE

    Rolls: (16)+9+2=27 v AC; (7)+(3)+3=13 fire damage.

Effect: As I've used a Channel Divinity power this encounter, I mark the target until the end of my next turn, and an ally within 5 squares of me (Nayce) can spend a healing surge.

Isari walks up to the hammerer and slashes at him.

    Move to K13 and use Booming Blade on Ha: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35

No problem. That entire update nearly fried my brain due it being comprehensively eaten.

Isari stalks towards the hapless Hammerer and unleashes a mighty blow on the dwarf, bloodying him instantly. Reveling in his success, he casually casts aside the lingering poison slowing his limbs.

The bolter backs towards one of the steam valves and tries to clear his head.

    OOC:

I'm going offline, so here's my action in advance:

    Reaping Strike on Ha
    Attack 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29 (+2 flanking)
    Damage 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

If I miss, I still do 5 damage.

    (Male Half-elf Assassin 13)

Nayce leaps to his feet with great agility and makes his way across the room to take out one of the goldspawn.

    Stand up as a minor action (Acrobat Boots). Move to E12. Shadow Storm on G5. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 vs AC. 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 damage on a hit, not that that matters. Another shroud on Sebastian.

Nayce bounds lightly to his feet and makes his way towards the pesky goldspawn, pausing only to cast another warning shroud over Sebastian. The lowly dwarf shrugs aside the attack and backs away again before opening fire on the assassin.

    Crossbow (AC)
    1d20+12=31 - G4 v Nayce - hits. 9 damage
    1d20+12=22 - G1 v Nayce - misses.
    1d20+12=22 - G5 v Nayce - misses.
    9hp damage to Nayce.

Rusty adds to the Hammerer's woes with another mighty blow, wounding it further.

High on the boiler, the Spined Devil tries to add to the carnage, hurling another handful of spines at Isari.

Spines (Ref). On hit, makes secondary attack v Fort. On hit target is slowed and takes 5 ongoing poison damage (se both)
    1d20+9=27 - Spined Devil v Isari - hits.
1d20+9=23 - Spined Devil v Isari secondary attack - hits.
    1d10=7
7 damage to Isari who is slowed and takes 5 ongoing poison (se both)

    MAP

NOTE: To end encounter, any creature not target of Quillan's Oath of Emnity gains vulnerable 5 to all damage to end it's next turn if it ends its turn adjacent to Quillan.

    Quillan - (second wind used)
    Dorvin
    Amenephus
Sebastian Ufastis (SU) - three shrouds
Dwarf Hammerer (Ha) - BLOODIED; dazed (se)
Isari - slowed and 5 ongoing poison (se both)
Dwarf Bolter (Bo) - BLOODIED; dazed (se)
    Journeyman (JG)
    Nayce - BLOODIED
    Goldspawn 1, 4, 5
    Rusty
    Spined devil (SD) - BLOODIED

"Bah! Get yer' wee little strip of leather away from me ye' bloody coward!" yells Quillan at the journeyman. "Ye're not gonna' hurt me with that!"

The avenger chooses to ignore the annoying whip wielder in favor of helping Nayce deal with the goldspawn.

    Move Action: Move to E11

Minor Action: Oath of Enmity on G5

Standard Action: Bond of Retribution on G5 w/ OoE

  • 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 vs. AC
  • 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 vs. AC
  • 1d12 + 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (8) + (2) + 11 = 21 damage and on a hit, the first time an enemy other than the target hits or misses me before the end of my next turn, the target takes 4 radiant damage.

  • As Quillan arrives alongside Nayce and swings, the goldspawn turns insane gold-flecked eyes on the avenger, daring him to continue his attack.

For the Love of Money (Will) (immediate interrupt when targeted by a melee attack. On hit Quillan attacks another adjacent target than the dwarf - Nayce in this case.
    1d20+11=20 - G5 v Quillan. Misses.

Nothing the crazed dwarf can do can prevent his doom at Quillan's hands and the goldspawn falls, vomiting forth the now familiar pile of steaming gold as he does so.

    MAP

NOTE: To end encounter, any creature not target of Quillan's Oath of Emnity gains vulnerable 5 to all damage to end it's next turn if it ends its turn adjacent to Quillan.

    Rusty

I believe Dorvin should be up.

Quillan turns to Nayce after dispatching the goldspawn.

"Think ye' can bring down that fool standin' all high and mighty over there?" asks Quillan, referring to SU.

    Indeed. Dorvin is up.

    Rev DM

    Spoiler:
As I'm going to be busy all of tomorrow (when I'm sure I'd need to post), I'll put my actions up now.

Amenephus furrows his brow and, as a minor action, casts a healing word on Nayce. He can spend a healing surge, with an additional 3 hp (Sorry - crap rolls!): Healing Word additional hp on Nayce: (2d6=3)

He then casts a Halo of Consequence on Sebastian: Halo of Consequence on SU (v Reflex): (1d20+9=23)

If that hits, he is affected by my halo (save ends): he takes a -4 penalty to attack rolls, and after he attacks me or any ally he is dazed until the end of his next turn. He also takes a -2 penalty to saving throws against the halo.

Thanks Amenephus - all noted. Dorvin is up.

Dorvin - delaying you. Jump back in when you can post.

Amenephus's blood rises and with it his power. Channeling his deity, he hurls a circlet of divine disapproval over Sebastian, inhibiting the man from his attacks and closes some of Nayce's worse wounds.

No recharge on Knives of the Mountain.

"Self-righteous do-gooder!" screams Sebastian as the debilitating halo settles on his head, sending a bolt or vengeful fire towards the eladrin. Alas, it is his own implement that betrays him and he breathes in hard before exhaling a cloud of poisonous gas.

    Betraying Implements (Will)
    1d20+8=9 - Sebastian v Amenephus. Fail.

Fumes of the Earth (Fort); Burst 3 within 10. On hit targets are weakened (se). Centred on G10 and attacking Amenephus, Dorvin, Quillan and Nayce.
    1d20+6=18 - Sebastian v Amenephus. Hits

    1d20+6=21 - Sebastian v Quillan. Hits
    1d20+6=8 - Sebastian v Nayce. Misses.
    2d8+5=9
9 damage to Amenephus and Quillan and weakened (se)

The Hammerer backs uneasily away from Isari and Rusty, shaking his head to clear it and finally succeeding.

    1d20=16 - save v daze.

    (Male Half-elf Assassin 13)

No longer bloodied. Amenephus, don't forget to keep adding the +3 to all your healing abilities for your Healer's Lore.

HP 31 out of 57. Good enough, I think, to tango with that annoying fellow up on the tank.

Isari focuses on overcoming the poison flowing through his veins before stepping to the hammerer's side and slashing at him with a frozen blade.

    Use Mythal Recovery(1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5), shift to K14 and use Frigid Blow on him: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

    1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

    Let's try that again. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
