Dusting herself off, Althesia grimaced. "Let's not do that again." She says, mostly to herself.

I so wish I was 3rd level so I can sing the Inspire Competence song, "Climb, climb, climb the wall!"

Willard, are you raging during this climb?

Maybe I can inspire some competence by throwing daggers at him for moving too slow. Or is that an aid another check? Haha. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 For the fun of it. If applicable, of course.

No, Willy has not raged any round yet today. He would have if he missed his first attack against the spider. The +10 is from +8 for his Climb skill bonus and +2 circumstance bonus for using a climber's kit.

You scale 10 feet up the wall. There's 20 feet left to go.

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

Can Willy take 10 2 more times? He is not being distracted or threatened (unless Althesia is throwing daggers at him).

Of course he can.

Haünrar wrote:

"Well that stinks," notes Haunrar as he wipes his hands together, rubbing off the kicked up dust. "I guess we can try looking around this big room here." He looks around the room he is in.

Perception: 1d20+3

Afterwards, he goes to the door in the north wall and listens.

Perception: 1d20+3

The well in the northeast corner has 10 feet of rope dangling in it. The water is more than 30 feet down and is brackish. Next to the well lies a humanoid corpse, rotted.

The ruined stable has a few ancient bones.

You don't hear anything coming from the other side of the door.

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

When Willy reaches the trapdoor, he pushes up on it to open it just enough to stick the top of his head in so he can see what's in the space above it.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

You see the sloped ceiling above.

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

Willy climbs through the trap door.

Well this looks interesting, if not downright disgusting, Deelin says as he moves over to inspect the human remains.

He searches the corpse.

Willard: You see stairs leading down to a door on both the north and west side.

Deelin: You find a rotting backpack.

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

"Wanna come up?" Willy calls down through the trap door "I'll let da rope down."

"Eww..." Haunrar says to Deelin as he rifles through the remains. "I'm glad I didn't jump into that." He hears Willy offer to lower a rope. "Coming!"

Deelin carefully rifles through the backpack trying not to get any goo on himself or his clothes, after all when your adventuring you still have to look good he thinks to himself.

Inside the pack are: 7 days rations, a set of thieves' tools, 50 feet of silk rope, a small coinpurse filled with coins, and a small vial containing a blue liquid.

[b]"Hey, uh. Could ya hold that blue vial up for me please. I'll try and discern what it is.[b]

Casts detect magic and if the vial is magic, he holds it for three rounds and tries to determine what it is.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

To Huanrar he says No worries, here you go handing him the bottle. Deelin then counts the coins for the party and tosses the smallest one down the well for good luck and has a look at the bottom waiting for the splash to guage its depth.

perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

Willy looks around for a way to secure one end of the rope, oblivious to the fact that everyone is now out in the courtyard.

Haunrar stairs at the vial for about 20 seconds before he realizes he has no clue what the potion is. Then he starts suddenly, remembering that he just called back to Willy and runs back into the room and grabs ahold of the dangling rope.

The water in the well is over 30 feet down.

The last rays of sunlight tries to maintain a presence in the vale, but fight a losing battle as starlit night blankets the ruins.

The courtyard and tower are now considered dimly lit.

Perception checks.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Deelin and Althesia:
You hear the pitter-patter of multiple feet moving around from the other side of the double doors on the western wall.

Althesia draws her rapier, her eyes darting between Deelin and the door. "Should I call the others?" She asks.

Backing away from the well and moving towards the broken tower door Deelin says in hushed tones Steel yourselves, we have company moving past those double doors. He knocks an arrow and readies to fire at an approaching enemy that may appear.

"Willy! Get you tush down here, we have trouble!" Haunrar hisses as he draws his falchion and joins Althesia, standing at the ready.

"And here I thought I going to fight up close solo." Althesia muttered, relief slightly coloring her voice.

"I wouldn't hang a sister out to dry like that." the burly half-orc winks. "Whats happening out there?"

The elf rolls her eyes. "Right. Why don't you go and check?" She points towards the western door. "Don't worry, I have your back."

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

Willy climbs back down as fast as he can.

Climb checks:

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

"I think I 'd rather wait and see if they come through, then hit them."

Minutes pass by and no one comes through the doors.

"Ok, they're playing a waiting game." Haunrar sneaks up to the door and tries and: A) peek through any cracks or holes or barring that B) Listens closely for any noises that they might be making.

Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

"What in dere? Want me to open da doors?"

"Not sure yet, just waitin' to see if I hear anything."

seems like whoever they are, they know we're here. How about we go through that side door and see if we can work our way around behind them. I'll cover us with my bow. Deelin says as he makes his way onto the rubble pile for the best view.

Haunrar: You don't see or hear anything.

"Deelin, that sounds like a good idea. What if you and Althesia provide cover fire with the bow from behind while Willy opens that door? I'll stay with Willy. I got a nice slippery surprise for them if they are still still there. I didn't hear anything but that doesn't mean they weren't there."

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

"Oy, 'ere we go." Willy opens the door with one hand, with his axe in the other.

His rope is still lying on the floor in the tower.

The door opens to a long hallway. At the east end of the hallway is a ruined dwarven statue.

I think Willy opened the double doors to the west and Deelin opened to the hallway that you showed. Correct?

(Male Human (Taldan) Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 5)

No, Willy opened the side door. He didn't get the part about waiting at the double door. (and honestly I missed that).

As far as I can tell, Deelin didn't open any doors. He's just chillin' in the rubble.

Gotcha.

Haunrar follows Willy through the door.
