If there is any kind of light around (like a full moon or two; I think one was and another was partial, right?), Garroth will carefully take out his mirror. He'll wait until the pack is all facing away, then try to reflect some light in the direction of the camp. He'll only do this once or twice, at most, to avoid tipping off the wolf-things. Then, he'll pull out his kukri, and wait to see what happens, trying to creep forward a bit.
Lethe nudges Synatria and points in the direction of the lights Whispering quietly "I think we have company. Just saw two flashes of light over in that direction as if light were reflecting on a weapon being drawn."
Lethe nudges Synatria and points in the direction of the lights Whispering quietly "I think we have company. Just saw two flashes of light over in that direction as if light were reflecting on a weapon being drawn."
"A weapon?" Synatria raises an eyebrow. "Then I may not be able to use the spell after all."
Lethe begins to slowly draw her axe "Do you have anything else that may work?"
"As in spells? Well, not really. The calming spell can be extremely effective, ut if the animals are trained, it doesn't work so well. I also have a spell that could hide two of us from the sight of animals, but, again, if they have riders there's not much point. I suppose I could charm one of them, but it honestly wouldn't be nearly as effective as it would be otherwise."
Lethe and Synatria seem to be staring at where your at. They do not see the creatures sneaking though the dark nore have they woken the others. They look the be surrounded and unaware of the ones behind them, The creatures you can see look ready to pounce
Lethe and Synatria you see nothing yet something is going on, you can feel something watching, ready and you feel uneasy
"Synatria I think we may be surrounded" Lethe mentions virtually booting Jax awake.
Syantria swears. "I cannot use the spell if I can't see them. We need to draw them closer. Annin!" The cat starts awake. She fingers something in her pack.
Not sure if this is possible but I believe it is; I am readying an action to cast Calm Animals on the largest amount of animals I see (at least four).
As lethe tries to wake the others, and the horses seems scared and skittish the howl comes from the darkness, it hits you all like a great wave, and your bodies seems to freeze
Gonna need will saves from you all. Don't forget ya have action points if needed
Will save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Also, remember that I get a +2 on supernatural and spell-like abilities of abberations, if applicable.
Also, Knowledge (nature) check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Can I recognise any of this?
You can not be sure, but giving the coyote like things Garroth saw and what you feel is a magical attack, you may be facing sandhowlers, creatures that have a higher group intelligence and tend to attack in mass after stunning foes with a sonic assault
Synatria's eyes widen. "Sandhowlers!" She says. "They're intelligent creatures with a pack mind! These are no animals!"
She turns to Lethe. "Beware their howls, they're what freeze you in place!"
"They still bleed and die if you hit em hard enough right?" Lethe growls letting her more bestial side take over
Lethe if she has a chance before combat begins will rage and shift

Lethe if she has a chance before combat begins will rage and shift
"Um, I suppose." Synatria says. "Though they aren't that common where I come from, and it'd be nice to be able to...ah, sorry, the artificer in me." She smiles sadly.
Ok good news is 3 have passed the save and are not stunned this round. Bad news is only one can act
The howl sweeps though the camp awakening the sleepers, however Garroth,Headric and Lethe find themselves unable to move as if stunned by the great howl. Jax and Joyelle come awake unsure of whats going on. Some of the horses seems as effected as three others seems to nah and rear up at the oncoming attackers
Ok surprise round Synatria may act
Cat's roll 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 he is also stunned
Synatria acts quickly, speaking a prayer to the cunning predator in the forest. The space in front of her begins to glow.
DIscarding Calm Animals to ue Summon Nature's Ally to summon a snake. I believe it is the bottom one.
Gah, sorry! I meant to include Initiative in my post! 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
"Kill all who attack the camp." Synatria says. The vicious, enormous snake which has just appeared hastens to obey, attacking the nearest sandhowler with a hiss.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Bite: save Fort DC 13; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 ⇒ 2 Con damage this round if save fails.
So even though Garroth started charging towards the creatures before they howled, I couldn't get to any before I was stunned? Just wanted to clarify ...
Sorry I had overlooked that, I will allow him one attack in the surprise round before he gets stunned, but if he acts he will been seen
Garroth isn't concerned about that; once he sees them preparing to attack, he rushes in. And you still have Garroth listed at 25 hp; I think I should at least be in the 30's, right?
His kukri drawn, Garroth rushes to attack the nearest creature before it attacks ...

kukri 1d20+7 damage 1d4+4
EDIT: #$@%$#!!!!
Looks like it's left to the horrible multiclass combo and two people the DM had to roll for to save the day. :P
As the howl comes Synatria calls forth a planner allie as Garroth charges the creatures, but the darkness alone with the sudden howl causes him to miss and he stands as if frozen with the rest
Synatria'S snake charges forward biting on of the scaly animals as Jax rolls from his bed throwing his hammer into the night, it hits one of the howlers in the head dropping it like a sack of grain.
Three of the howlers attack the now defenseless horses, one ignoring the now frozen Garroth the lash out at the mounts, One goes down among the growls and fangs4hp
Another attack the snake, as the last one runs at Jax biting into him7hp
The snake attacks the sandhowler again. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2 If it hits, then he has to make another save, in addition to the last one (I think, I don't know how poison works). If that is true, then if he fails the save he takes 1d2 ⇒ 2, if he fails the second save (if it exists)he is dealt an additional 1d2 ⇒ 1. Sorry about the confusion. Remember, the save DC is 13, and this is the second round of the poison.
Synatria draws her crossbow and fires at the nearest one. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6 Shocking: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Damage: 1d4-1

Synatria draws her crossbow and fires at the nearest one. 1d20+2
Damage: 1d8 Shocking: 1d6
I believe the way it works now is that any subsequent poisonings after the first add + 1 to the number of rounds the poison gets to affect the target

Ah, thanks. Then use the first damage roll, Seeker.
I just looked to make sure, it says unlike most poison stacks, In addition each new dose expends the duration by half(+3 rounds in this case) and ups the DC by 2. Now I was thinking it just did the last 2, but the words it stacks and in addition seems to trump that. Does it seem that way to yall or is it just me?

Synatria's snake again bits into the howler, as Synatria herself takes aim with her crossbow only to miss in the low lighting, Jax slams his hammer into the howler attacking him,
Behind them two howlers take down another defenseless horse as somehow 3 come loose and bolt off into the night, the howler fighting the snake bits deep into it9hp seeming to disable the creature, as the one fighting Jax backs away
