Best to tie him up, it won't hold him for long but long enough for us to find the cult before he could warn them.

Jake's had a lot of influence over Elmo. Before they met, he'd probably have knocked our goblin chum out, kicked his teeth in, pinched anything useful and legged it. He now realises this isn't heroic behaviour. The sandwiches are his own idea though.


As Logan walks forward he can here the sounds of shuffling coming from the darkened room beyond, and a fetid air wafts from inside. However, the light from the torches in the tunnel does not illuminate the room at all.

"Wait," Yrenn whispers. She casts a spell of light into the darkness.

I cast light onto the square immediately ahead of Logan.

(Male Kobold Swordmage 1)

"What is it?" Elmo sneaks closer to Logan.


Yrenn's light spell provides shadowy illumination in the room beyond. Four partially decayed corpses shamble around and then begin to rush towards the shining light.

A scowl of disgust crosses Yrenn's face as she conjures a spell of cold.

Standard Action : Ray of Frost against zombie closest to Logan

Damage 7, slowed until end of my next turn.

Edit:The map monster ate the map that had Logan's location on it. I will fix that as soon as possible.


Yrenn's spell strikes the zombie with a pale blue ray. The creature slows it's gait, but doesn't show any other signs of having been affected by the spell.

Elmo concentrates on the job in hand, his beady eyes focusing on the zombies.


Updated map, waiting on Jake and Ba'az's actions. Note that I moved Yrenn so she could actually make her attack.

If I'm at G11 then I might as well take an Action Point to cast another spell. Can zombies be affected by Sleep? The Monster Manual doesn't list immunity to Sleep.

They can indeed. As can skeletons. Perhaps they should rename it "Stasis" :D

It appears that they can be effected by Sleep. It appears dragons can be as well.

OK thanks for the ruling.

I'll take an Action point to cast sleep on M16, which should cover all the zombies.

As was pointed out to me in another game, you have to roll to hit each zombie seperately.

"Right behind you Jake. You turn them into ashes and I'll sweep them away."

Ba'az will rush forward to 12-J (reached weapon) and attack Z1 with his peircing strike.

attack=18

damage=14

"Ioun will strip you of your undeath foul vermin".


Ba'az's strike pierces the chest of the zombie, which then shambles forward to attack him. Ba'az gets an OA. The first zombie swings and hits Ba'az with a solid punch. Then the second zombie shambles up on the other side and hits Ba'az as well. 1d20+6=26, 1d20+6=18 Ba'az takes a total of 19 damage from the zombies. Meanwhile the other two slump over as if they have had the strings holding them up cut.

Logan streaks to behind Ba'az and stabs one sword at each zombie.

Move: move to I12
Minor: hunter's quarry on Z1
Standard: Dire Wolverine strike against Z1 and Z2 1d20+7=23, 1d20+7=26; Damage 1d8+4=10; HQ Dam 1d8=6

Seeing the undead still standing, Logan lashes out again.
Spend an action point.
Standard: Twin Strike vs Z1 and Z2; Att: 1d20+7=9, 1d20+7=11; Dam: 1d8=4

"Ba'az, we really need to stop meeting like this." *wink*

"Logan, I'll set 'em up you knock 'em down".

Elmo's remembers his manners and his blade glints with frost as he strides towards Z2 and jabs firmly at the monster.

"Undead miscreant, stay!"

Frigid Blade (AC) v Z2 (1d20 6=19, 1d8 4=10). On hit, Z2 is slowed to the end of Elmo's next turn.

Moved to I11.


Logan's fierce assault slashes the first zombie to ribbons. As it collapse, the body disolves into dust. Elmo's strike does some visible damage to the second zombie and frost forms along the monster's limbs.

Dependant on what Jake does:

Ba'az uses his divine chalange on Z2, then shifts into square K-11 flanking it with Elmo.
Attacks using Holy Strike; attack=25
Damage=8+2 points radiant damage.

move to J13. Light of Inspiration vs Z3.
1d20+3=10 vs REF, 1d8+3=9 radiant damage and Logan gains +2 power bonus to attack Z3 if my attack has hit.

A crackling bolt that has an almost musical quality lances out at one of the other zombies, and Jake cries, "There are more over here!"


Ba'az and Jake make short work of the second zombie and it too collapses into dust. The two remaining zombies continue to stand unmoving, like flesh covered statues.

Woops, Z2 is still standing, flanked by Ba'az and Elmo.

(Male Human Ranger 1)

Seeing Jake move towards the other undead, Logan makes a backswing against the corpse next to him and then rushes toward the other undead.

Minor: HQ on Z2
Standard: Hit&Run at-will attack power (moving out of first square doesn't provoke OA) 1d20+7=24, 2d8+4=13
Move: move through Jakes square to L15.

"Smelly runts! At least they're not oozes."


Okay, now Z2 is dead.

If I hit (ha ha) damage would be 9

(Male Kobold Swordmage 1)

Elmo moves down the room, glaring at Z3. Move to K16.

"Why isn't it moving Jake? Do you think the room is trapped?"

He pauses, stares hard at Z3 and makes a gesture with his sword. "Anyway, it's mine when it does move."
