He doesn't need to cast any spells - he has a memorised Fireball, which means that he can drop 3HD Fiery Blasts all day. He detonates one right behind and above the one that bullrushed Hudak - in G1, but 10' up, which should hit all three face-fakers. Damage 13, Reflex 18 for half.
"Hey Elisile, can you cast your growth magicks on me?" Alwyn's clearly itching to lay into the face-fakers.
I posted a movement down the stairs for Elisile a while back, I had it in my head that she got an action on the surprise round (when the first face faker attacked her(, was that the case? Her action might be different depending on whether she’s still at the top of the stairs or she’s managed to move down.
Alwyn, are you on the stair or down the bottom?
Elisile nods in response to Alwyn’s request. “But you will need to remain still whilst I complete the casting,” she says, moving to stand behind him on the stair.
It’s got a one round casting time, still want it? If so, Elisile will cast, if not she’ll do something else.
I'll get up; brush myself off, and get up the stairs as far as I can get as fast as I can get up there.
If somebody can tell me how far that is cool, otherwise I'll figure it out in a bit.
(bear with me; I worked til 11:00 last night and am very very punchy).
Just figured we might have our actions ready when Aubrey returns from Spain. ;D
Alwyn bends his knees slightly and beckons the face-facer closer.
As Elisile's Enlarge spell is a full-round action, I can't move. Instead, I ready an action to strike the face-facer when/if it approaches. Next round, I'll be Large and then...
As for positioning, this is how I understand it: the face-faker is on top of the stair with his two buddies. Then there is a vacant spot (recently vacated by Hudak), then it's me, Elisile and Hudak, who spent this turn running back up the stairs. Down on the ground, there's Illes and Vethran, as well as Dravite. Does that sound about right?
Dravite's up. Has anyone seen Fakey recently? After him, it's Vethran, who is currently internet-less. Any volunteers once his round rolls around?
Its blank face inscrutable, the face-faker steps back from the stairs and on to the floor above, out of sight.
I'm not sure everyone is getting the set-up, so I will reiterate to avoid confusion. The stairs wind up the inside wall of the tower. At intervals there are floors - the face-faker is at the level of one now - which block line of sight up the tower. The stairs have rickety (and basically purely ornamental) railings but otherwise the stairs are open into the tower. So if you fall off the stairs , you fall on to the floor that is below you. You can now see no face-fakers - they are all on the floor above.
I think the positioning is Hudak, G3, Alwyn G4, and Elisile G5, with the others on the ground floor.
As Fatespinner's internet-free, I'll run Vethran this encounter.
Vethran squints up through the hole in the ceiling. "I know just the thing... Watch your heads!"
Casting Fireball up into the first floor. It detonates close to the ceiling, so the people on the stairs should be unsinged. It goes off above the stair opening so that it'll catch anyone lurking within 20' of the stairs, even if we can't see them. Now, lessee... Ah, Vethran's CL for fire spells is 8! Damage 32, Reflex 18 for half damage.
Elisile finishes her spell, and Alwyn is now Large, looking like a particularly skinny bearded ogre. It's her turn to act, though.
Having completed her spell, Elisile retreats to the floor of the chamber, readying her bow as she goes, positioning herself somewhere where she will get a clear shot at the opening to the floor above.
I'll roll up to the hole. My take is I'm coming up to a floor through a stairwell type deal; hope that's right, It's been a while with all this.
spot 14 if needed; I get the feeling they might've all gotten crispy crittered; hope they're not faking me out.
Hudak pushes up past the scorched wood of the stairs and on to the landing, as he does so, two of the face-fakers charge him from where they sheltered from Vethran's fireball while another finishes loading a light crossbow. One obviously was scorched by the spell but the others are unharmed.
Face-fakers in B2 and F5 move F1 and F2 to while the other in B5 stays where he is. (For information, F2 looks scorched.) You can have an AoO on F1 since he has to manouevre round you so they can both attack. No one else can actually target them from where they are as the floor is inconveniently in the way. F1 misses, F2 hits for 6 points of damage.
Inspire Courage +1 att/dam, fear/charm
Staying conservative because I have a limited number of powered up usages and I'm not sure how many floors this tower has at this point.
I think you might be blocked by the fakers. You can attack from behind Hudak since you have reach now, but I guess they'll get some kind of cover. You'd be stabbing past him up the stairwell to the next floor.
