Those, inside the tower, Listen, DC 18:

Spoiler:
You hear sounds of stealthy movement from above.

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

Listen 3+3=6. Nothin'.

Listen: 20+6 = 26

Elisile indicates (via whispers and gestures) to whoever next comes up that she hears someone moving about up above. They appear to be trying to move about quietly, so they're probably well aware of the group's vicinity.

Did anyone want that enlarge spell by the way?

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

I will, unless it dooms me to oblivion trying to mount that stairway...

The stairmeister informs you you should be OK. However, you will have to squeeze to get up there, so you will be effectively flatfooted and moving at half while you do so.

Marching order?

Given the tight confines, Elisile will wait to cast Enlarge on Hudak once they enter whatever chamber is above should the situation allow it – thus, she will stay just behind him.
What is the situation here? Is there a door at the top of the stair, or a trap door or what?

Elisile, Hudak, Alwyn, Vethran, Illes

Dravite outside if I read that right. Have to go back and skim.

Yep, Dravite said he was waiting outside. Elisile was indeed in the lead, but she will stand aside on the stair to let Hudak go ahead of her (assuming she has time before something nasty happens).

Can Dravite conceivably target anything from out there unless it runs past us and out the front? Or flies away making an extremely difficult shot?

It twists round a whole revolution inside the tower and then goes up through a hole in the level above. There is no illumination, so someone needs to be providing some for the non-Darkvision-types.

As Hudak moves past her, Elisile casts light.

(Male Dwarf Ranger/7 XP- 35674)

*Humming to himself outside while scanning the exterior for windows or balconies near the top and watching for the stitched up ogre to show back up* "Hmmmmmm, deee duuummmmm deee duummmm!"

Didn't we off him already?

Elisile pulls out her small metal mirror, and holds it out below the hole in the ceiling above, angling it to try to get some glimpse into the space above, particularly looking for any sign of an enemy. Spot: 13+6 = 19

Well, the hole is quite a long way up - that won't really work unless you creep up there.

Elisile presses herself against the wall and creeps up the stairs, though unfortunately her rapier sheath scrapes rather noisily against the wall at one point. At the top she tries the mirror trick.

Move Silently: 5+7 = 12
Hide: 10+7 = 17

Elisile:

Spoiler:
You can see in your mirror three of the face-fakers coming to deal you violence, approaching the stair from the landing above. Roll initiative.

Somewhere at the back of the procession Illes pulls out his scroll case and carefully, quietly, unrolls one. He whisper-sings the spell as the letters burn away and finally reaches out to empower Vethran.

Fox's Cunning +4 Int, 3 minutes

Aubrey:

Spoiler:
Init: 10+5 = 15

A face-faker appears at the top of the stairs and swings at Elisile with a lumpy fist. It connects on Elizard's tough hide (5 points of damage). Two more crowd up behind it.

Roll initiative, everyone. So far:
Face-fakers 20
Elisile 15

Init 10+2 = 12

Init 15 + 2 = 17

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

Init 12+2=14.

I'm not engorged yet, am I?

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

Initiative 7+1=8.

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

That gives us:
Face-fakers 20
Vethran 17
Elisile 15
Hudak 14
Illes 12
Alwyn 8
Dravite is hanging out on the porch. Play ball!

Hudak wrote:

Not yet.

Hudak wrote:

Snigger.

OK, the tower is a square 30' by 30', A-G across the top and 1-6 down the side. Stairs run upwards from G1 to A1, A1 to A6, A6 to G6 and G6 to A2. From the top of these stairs the drop is 40'.

The hole Elisile is peering through is at G1 (at the top of the stairs rather than the bottom). Above that level is a floor - the stairs continue up as above, but there is a floor at B-F/2-5. That is where the face-fakers are.

So we have Elisile at G1 or G2, and she is the furthest up the stairs. The rest of your are presumably at various levels on the stairs going up. Dravite can hear the commotion and can join in if he desires, but it will take a round of movement to get to the bottom of the stairs.

Vethran:

Spoiler:
Based on your penetrating knowledge of staircraft, you are aware that while the stairs can be walked up fairly safely, a punch-up on them might not be so safe.

"Don't fight on the stairs! Lure them down!"
Put me on the stairs at G6.

(Male Dwarf Ranger/7 XP- 35674)

1d20+7=12 initiative.

Dravite moves to the doorway of the tower, bow in hand and arrows ready, looking in and waiting for the commotion to come to him.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

I guess G2 would be right behind Elly. Put me behind Elly if I don't have this figured out correctly.

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

If Elisile was trying to stealthily scope out the room above, we probably weren't right on her heels. Put me in one of the squares next to the bottom of the stair.

Elisile, starting at G2, takes a retreat action back down the stairs, effectively a double move to A4.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

Hudak wraps his two fists around his blade, and gets ready to tear s&!& up.

Damn - you can't even have a good sn!gger on these boards.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

huh?

My post a few posts above, in responce to your non-engorgement - my sn!gger became a sn%^$£.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

drat.....and here I thought I was going to learn a new vulgar Britannic colloq that started with "sn".....
I bet it would be a tinny word.

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

Yeah, I was wondering what that was too.

F6 as I was right behind Vethran

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

Alwyn Agnarrson wrote:

I guess this would put me in F4.

(Male Dwarf Ranger/7 XP- 35674)

Dumm-dee-doooo.

The face-faker squirms up to Hudak and moves to push him from the stairs.

Treating this like a bull-rush. He moves into your square (G2) but because you are flat-footed you don't get an AoO. So it is STR v STR - he rolls 20. If he wins you fall 40' to the floor below and he winds up at G2, if you win you stay where you are and he moves back to G1.

And Alwyn, are you on the stair at G4 or on the ground floor at F4. I misdescribed the tower and it is 35' wide and 30' long, so F4 is on the ground floor, not the stairs. Is that your intention?

Sorry for the wait - my reserve of mojo ran dry for a week or so.

Once Hudak resolves his STR check, it is Vethran.

(Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 9)

I meant to be on the stair - or, rather, I meant to be next to the stair on a higher level. I didn't realise that the tower was an empty shell and that the face-fakers were on the 'first' floor. So put me in G4.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

aaaaaaaaaaaah!
Jump 7+3+6=16 if I can do that not to bust my arse up.
"You face faker f&!&er!!!"

Is there a size bonus to resist bull rush? Cause Hudak is all big now.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

I'm not big yet...I checked...

Yeah- you get +4 for being large. Did you only post a jump roll rather than Str check because you had failed the Str?

Hudak pitches from the stairs to the floor below.

12 damage. You can't Jump for less damage as you need to be deliberately jumping. You can use Tumble instead, but it is a Trained Only skill, so you can't. Sorry, full damage, but at least I rolled low. You are now prone in F2. Say "Hi" to Dravite.

(male Human Shoanti Fighter 9 xp 51,066)

Yes; only posted the jump.
I don't think I was large, but even if I was I failed with a +4.
