Pvt. Daermor rips off his own head and throws it at the feat of Malik, Pvt. Daermor’s head then explodes into a cloud of rotting meat and metal shards that engulfs everyone except himself and flint.
Blue square: Any creature that starts its turn in this area is subject to an attack
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
"Good work with the improvised artillery."
Malick brushes bits of Pvt Daemor out of his eyes.
"Time we got a little serious people. I want to see a nice bloody ending to this. Real soon."
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
2d10 + 13 ⇒ (6, 3) + 13 = 22 Bloody Ending v Sgt Lasser. Allies get +2 to attacks against Sgt Lasser to the end of Malick's next turn.
He hefts his halberd into Sgt Lasser and makes his way out of the flying debris.
Move to P19 - avoiding anything that would provoke and OA. Note he's not slowed, unless this is a new effect. He saved a while back.
Mountain moves a bit to his right, out of the whirling cloud of shrapnel, keeping a close eye of Lasser. He lashes out with a quick slice, looking to nick Daermor with the blade.
Shift to L19. Cleave on Lasser, Secondary damage to Daermor. Oh, and I'm finally gonna try to save versus slow.
Typhus calls once more upon the Cold Star and curses the Flaming Corpse marked with a T: "May the Cold Light of the Void Between the Stars guide you to a quiet eternity!" He then uses his Frigid Darkness power:
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 vs Fort and Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 5) + 8 = 17 cold damage and the target grants Combat Advantage to all my allies until end of my next turn plus -1 penalty to AC.
With a word from Rennik, illusory attackers launch attacks at the bloodied foe, attempting to overwhelm it.
Illusory Ambush on M20, 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 vs Will. 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 psychic damage, and if the hit was successful, the target takes -2 to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.
Based on his recent experience, Rennik does not care to be too close to those mists. He moves to P20.
Barely standing with his epileptic twitching, Sgt. Lasser begins spastically thrashing out at unseen enemies only to damage himself in the process. Sgt. Lasser continues thrashing at unseen foes lowering his ability to attack.
+2 Attacks on Sgt. Lasser until Malick’s next turn.
Flint 31
Mountain 29
Typhus 14
Rennik 14
Ferdinand 13
Sgt. Lasser(flaming corpse, bloodied) 13 (marked by Mountain, -2attk)
Pvt. Daermor(flaming corpse) 13
Malick 10
Ferdinand approaches Lasser and drives his spear deep into his side.
Moving to L20 and using Greater Magic Weapon. (vs AC, Lightning, adjacent allies get +3 to attack and damage, and also count as Brutal 1)1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Ferdinand's spear thrust hits something vital in Sgt. Lasser forcing him to his knees but doesn’t stop his inching advance on Mountain.
Lasser strikes at Mountain twice hitting once causing 7HP and slowing him.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Pvt. Daermor points his hand at Mountain and fire gout of fire that engulfs Mountain causing 13HP damage and 5 ongoing damage SE.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 6) + 5 = 13

Typhus 14
Rennik 14
Ferdinand 13
Sgt. Lasser(flaming corpse, bloodied) 13 (marked by Mountain, -2attk)
Pvt. Daermor(flaming corpse) 13
Malick 10
Malick is up.
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29
1d10 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 Hammer and Anvil (Ref) v Lasser. On hit, an ally gets a free melee attack against the target adding +3 to the damage roll.
"Mountain, will you just finish helping Lasser? I'm getting tired gentlemen." Malick looks at his former comrades.
"You're asking for help and we're doing our damndest. You gotta stop hurling body parts at us."
He shifts back a square. One square south please.
"Anyone badly hurt? Among the living, that is."
Inspiring Words at the disposal of anyone in need as a minor action.
Malick swings his halberd down on Sgt. Lasser cutting him in twain ending his epileptic fit and his insane plea for help. Then with a quip takes a casual step backwards.
Rennik is in that square, were would you like to move to.
Flint sticks his daggers into the headless Pvt. Daermor leaving a gash that seeps a silvery liquid. A gurgle emanates from what is left of Pvt. Daermor's throat and he turns to face Flint.
Rennik redirects his illusory ambushers to the remaining foe.
Illusory Ambush 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28 vs Will, 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 psychic damage, and on a hit the target takes -2 to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.
Pvt. Daermor swings twice at Flint hiting once doing 10HP damage.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 = 10
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
"Goes against the grain to get this close, but I'm getting tired of your company Daemor. That's how it goes sometimes."
Malick sighs and moves alongside his flaming ex-comrade, flanking with Frederick and leaving a deliberate and inviting opening for the corpse to hit him.
"Flint, some good slicing would be really appreciated."
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22 - Brash Assault. Doesn't matter if it hits or misses. Daemor can make a basic melee attack against Malick with CA. If he does so, an ally within 5 squares can make a basic attack against Daemor with CA as a free action. Flint gets the attack. Malick gets thumped.
Doubt that hits, but just in case, 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Malik moves up and thrusts his halberd at Pvt. Daermor and slices a chunk of meat off his shoulder. Malik’s attacks leave him open for an attack from Pvt. Daermor who lashes out with his malformed fist and dosn't even come close to Malick.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Basic Melee Attack(Dagger) with CA, 1d20+15=31 vs flaming corpse AC, 1d4+6=10 damage. Clever Strike(Dagger) with CA, 1d20+18=25 vs flaming corpse AC, 1d4+9+3d8+4=3+9+21+4=37 damage. Tumble, shift 3 squares south.
Flint swings twice at the remaining corpse and retreats quickly away in anticipation of the flaming abberation quickly being dispatched and blowing up like the previous corpse.
Flint's daggers finish off Pvt. Daermor before he tumbles away from the flaming corpse. The flames flare with a popping sound before guttering out in an anti-climatic puff of smoke.
End of combat - 1,000xp each
As the sound of combat fades an eerie silence covers the camp making every breath sound like a shout. The strange mist stretching north to south as far as can be seen exudes a queasy menace. The mist billows in place nether advancing or fading, absorbing sound and light.
Hundreds of miles from the safety of Breeland, you six are all that can be accounted for out of the hundred that formed Ruing's Raiders.
What do you do?
The battle has left Rennik weary and disoriented. He stares off into the distance for a time, before abruptly shaking his head and saying, "I need to sit down," and he does so right where he was standing.
Short rest? Rennik needs a heal - he's just shy of bloodied. Can one of our leaders give a boost to the healing surge he's about to spend?
"Hey, Flint, Rennik! Catch." Ferdinand tosses a small vial to them before beginning to repair Mountain. "So, what do you think caused that?", he says, gesturing back at the mist.
Using Curative Admixture on Flint and Rennik (heal as if you spent a HS+4) and using Impart Energy on Mountain's weapon (Once today, wielder can, as free action, get +2 on their attack roll). So, anyone feel like donating a surge or two for more Infusions next encounter? (I'm also spending one, bringing me up to 68HP).
Flint downs the vial, "Much obliged, friend"
66/76 HP, 7/8 surges, 1AP, Does Flint lose a healing surge for drinking the vial or no? He'll donate one to Ferdinand anyways for an infusion of Ferdinand's choosing, doesn't have to be for Flint.
Flint moves to inspect the fog closely to determine it's substance or anything about it.
Perception Check, 1d20+10=12
Nope, this healing is free. Also, you don't have to give me surges for me to heal you, I just need two surges from someone so I can use two infusions next battle.

Aah, I missed the "as if" part of that. Nice. In that case, you can definitely have one of my surges for your infusions.
Spending one healing surge and drinking two of my potions.
Mountain tosses two vials of blood red liquid into his mouth, crushing them with his jaws and sending small bits of glass tumbling down his chin. He grumbles and moves after a series of short repairs, brushing the ice from his joints. He speaks in heavy, leaden tones, his rumbling voice carrying across the small battlefield.
"Where is Col. Ruing? She shielded us, but was not amongst the transformed. Before we do anything else, I think we should discern her location if we can."
Malick(male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13)
Malick scrapes the remnants of his former comrades of his halberd, grimacing slightly at the sound.
"Don't reckon we're so badly off. Got food, got transport and we know what to avoid. Last would be everyone. Don't know about y'all, but I'm for finding Blondie and getting our sweet selves out of here before that mist gets frisky and moves in on us."
He reslings the weapon and starts looking at where Ruing was last seen.
Searching the surrounding area you find this amulet on the ground just inside the mist. Entwined in the cord are a few strands of golden blond hair.
All of you recognize it as Ruing’s, none have ever seen her without it. Whenever asked about it she would reply cryptically that the amulet would end the great war.
Malick
Spoiler:
you know from experience she never took it off .
You can find no other trace of Col. Corm ir’Ruing outside of the mist.
Searching the mist un-tethered will require a perception test DC30 not to get lost and a DC35 to find anything. If you’re tethered You can’t get lost and you only need a DC 30 find anything.
I also need a Perception and religion test from everone please, high DC.
A 32 failed?!? Well everyone, no real point in making Perception checks at this point, I have the highest modifier and rolled a 20 and still failed. (Not complaining, just hoping Xabulba misread my roll)

I didn't misread but I did have the wrong DC's.
Ferdinand
Spoiler:
When you examine the amulet you notice a complex series of lines etched faintly on the back. Thinking about what the lines could be you look to Mountain as you recognize the faint pattern on his breastplate matches the one on the map.
