Trailer for M. Night Shyama-lama-ding-dong's newest movie.

I hope that Hollywood doesn't screw up a great original work. Already kind of suspicious: why so few Asian actors?
Thanks for the link, Lazaro.

between Lady in the Water and The Happening, I doubt if I could ever be prevailed upon to watch a further movie by this joker.

I would have asked Guillermo del Toro. But maybe Shamma-lamma-ding-dong can redeem himself. And thanks, Lazaro. Now I'll have doo-wap going through my mind all morning.

As much as his latest movies have been crap, I love, love, love Unbreakable. So he is at least capable of putting out great movies.

My kid looks more like The Avatar than that kid...My kid was a huge hit at Comic-Con last year...

So he's a kid with mystical powers that some believe is the Chosen One and will bring balance to the world. I think I've already seen this movie. I hope they at least have the flying white buffalo.

I do not doubt that in the slightest, especially since M. Night Shadoobie cast everyone wrong, as far as I've seen.
Aang should be a tibetan or any asian ethnicity that live on, or around the himalyas
Firebenders should be mongolians, chinese or vietnamese
Waterbender should be native americans, especially Inuit, though indians would work too
Earthbenders should be a great mix of europeans and east asians
as far as africans/african americans go I don't we'd fit here....unless aang turns into one of when goes into his avatar state...that would actually be pretty funny!

I'm officially terrified for this film. I loved the series to death and would hate for it to be ruined by the same man who did The Happening (shudder).
Then again, didn't he do some pretty solid films before? I literally am having split second amnesia... I'm gonna do a web search.
EDIT: He did Stuart Little?!?

I can't stand him as a director. I always thought he was over rated, and now even the people who liked his earlier work are starting to realize that he sucks. He shouldn't be allowed to touch Avatar, it was such a great show.

Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense, Signs in order from good to bad. My shattered psyche has erased everything else he has done.

Shyamalan is a technically decent director and is quite good at evoking moods and atmosphere. His problems are mostly to do with scripts. He's a bit over-reliant on gimmicky ideas and he went to the same well too often. Up to SIGNS he was okay, THE VILLAGE is a good idea ineptly handled at the end and his later movies are unmentionable.
With a new approach, a new genre and with the writing and ideas largely handled by someone else, he could do something very interesting with this movie.
He probably won't, obviously, and it will likely suck, but hey, the change of direction could work for him.

It would be nice if he refrained from putting himself into any of the scenes, too. He can't act worth a damn.
I actually liked The Village. Not a classic by any means but I liked the way he surprised me by switching main characters so suddenly.

He could play a dead body realy good.
I think the movie could be good as long as it's written by someone else. Shamalamdingdong's later movies weren’t bad because of direction they were bad because of writing. Shamalamdingdong's writing is a one trick pony but he can still squeeze mood out of any crap script.

I agree completely. A caucasian Aang is like a caucasian Goku - it just doesn't work.
