The Serpent's Skull and Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Paths—both of them based around their respectively infamous sets of fangs, to say nothing of one's use of a famous Shoanti fighting style—are now sanctioned for the Pathfinder Society Organized Play program. You can find the rules for running these Adventure Paths as well as Chronicle sheets on the Additional Resources page and on their respective product pages.

The more that Linda and I work on these sanctioning projects, the more interesting we can make the experience. You'll find some handy guidelines for running the sanctioned parts of the adventure volumes and retaining more of the story in each of these sanctioning documents. We're also pretty pleased with the boons in both of these, which allow PCs to ally with clashing factions, redeem cruel villains, affect one or more of your other Pathfinder Society characters, and even dissolve one of the underlying assumptions of the campaign in a way that lets the character still enjoy in the organized play experience. Curse of the Crimson Throne is also an excellent reason to acquire a Harrow Deck, which features in one or more of the boons on each volume's Chronicle sheet.

Have you already started one of these Adventure Paths in your home group? Awesome! Much like we did with Giantslayer and Iron Gods, we're allowing some retroactive credit. If you are still in the middle of playing one of these Adventure Paths but have not yet concluded it, you can receive retroactive credit for all of that Adventure Path's earlier volumes the next time you earn a Chronicle sheet for that campaign. To answer a question that arose in the Hell's Rebels sanctioning blog, yes, this allowance also extends to Hell's Rebels.

There's more sanctioned adventures on the way, though not for a few more weeks. Other adventures like Kingmaker, Council of Thieves, Strange Aeons, and Seers of the Drowned City are still on our schedule.

First of all, thank you. Secondly, I noticed that Gallows of Madness is still not listed in the sanctioned modules section. Also, is there a reason that Planes of Power is not mentioned either?

There's no such reason. I recall having added that information to the file during the previous month's update. I'll investigate.

Thanks John! Just wanted to verify, since there is still a lingering issue with Hell's Rebels (Dance of the Damned) giving far too much gold - it appears the Crimson Throne Book 4 is giving 12-14 gold for a 10-12 chronicle. Could we get clarification if this is intentional?

Grand Lodge *** Venture-Lieutenant, Ireland—Dublin aka BMO

Very promising. Always good to see more Pathfinder material getting sanctioned.

The slow progression gp is correct, and the normal progression gp appears to be subject to mistyping; it should be 17,766, not 27,776.

Awesome, though I'm still holding out for Council of Thieves that I got a great deal on, not realizing they hadn't been sanctioned yet. That said the amount of sanctioned content added the last couple of months has been very impressive.

Are the Crimson Throne chronicles valid for either version?

I might be posting this in the wrong spot;

on the Additional Resources Page the link for Feast of Dust rules/chronicle download loses its .zip extension but on the product page it's OK.

Cool, but the important question is;

Can you use Thunder and Fang to make an Earthbreaker a one handed weapon without a Klar in the other?

The Campaign Clarifications document answers that very question. You can download it from a link at the top of the Additional Resources page.

My theory is that, like Rise of the Runelords, only.the hardcover version is the sanctioned version.

Sorry John, my post wasn't clear - while I appreciate the clarification, I was just trying to draw attention BACK to the Hell's Rebels, while also bringing up the relevant issue to this post:

Curse of the Crimson Throne book 4 is giving 12-14 gold for a 10-12 chronicle. Could we get clarification if this is intentional?

I finished GMing CotCT in April 2011, so it appears that I just missed the cut-off... ;-)

I tend to agree, but it's worth getting it in writing, so to speak.

Generally I'm alerted to these sorts of posts, but Website Feedback or webmaster@paizo.com work well for this sort of thing.

I know... I wish I could play/GM them all.

Then do them all again with a different party to see how they handle it.

Hey John, I know this is off topic, but are there any plans this year to release a holiday boon like last year? To date, as far as I'm aware, there's been the 2013 Ascendance Day boon and the 2015 Ritual of Stardust boon. Unfortunately, both times our lodge was too new to the existence of PFS so we missed out on gaining access to either one. Was hoping for a third try now that we've got our lodge in full swing.

Holiday boons are largely a "when we have time available" sort of project, of which we have a few others in the hopper at the moment. One possibility that's been brought up before is revisiting a past holiday boon rather than creating a new one. I don't know if that's the answer, though, so for now I'd just say "no plans yet, but we'll see."

Ugh, I need to juggle 5 chronicles this Monday(we only got 3 rooms of Scarwall left to go) and that's just for my GM credit babies, but I am pretty elated none the less. Cheers, Paizo!

I don't really care when adventure paths are sanctioned, but I was glad to see the other updates to the Additional Resources.

I was wondering what from Divine Anthology would be included. I'm not surprised to see that Desna's Shooting Star fighting style is excluded. I was hoping to play that one, but I can understand the exclusion. It's good to know, either way.

Now how long do we have to wait to see what ends up sanctioned from Blood of the Beast? I've got a grippli boon and an interest in the medium class, so I'm curious about their racial archetype for that one.

We've already begun work on the November Additional Resources, though I don't have a specific date for you. I'm certainly excited to see my grippli material and other Blood of the Beast out in the wild, to say nothing of the great character options I've reviewed in Villains Codex.

Not surprised at Desna's shooting star either. What made me really sad was visualization of the body and visualization of the mind being excluded. They could be awesome for the character types I like to play. Perhaps too awesome; I keep vacillating between being convinced the cost and need to cast while preparing spells properly balances the sweet benefits and thinking that maybe I'm just trying to rationalize my desires.

Anyway, hope they show up as a chronicle boon like some earlier spells did.

I have a question about the sanctioned content of Edge of Anarchy:

Sanctioned content:
Looks like the sanctioned portion is Part 1 and Part 2. But Part 2 calls out pretty much all of the side missions in Part 3. But I assume the intent isn't to run the entire book for 1 level? Should we skip the side missions or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Thanks!

In Response:

Ah crumbs, I missed the tail end of a few of those transitions while reviewing the volume. Basically, the PCs should be performing the encounters that are self-contained in Part 2, which would exclude much of Events 9, 10, and 13.

Silver Crusade ****

Thanks, John -- I'm really looking forward to running it this weekend!
