Hope your dice are in your carry on! You can get some hardcore one-shot action during your interminable stay in purge... the airport.

Roll a percentile to get a new flight.

I totally disbelieve that illusionary excuse to be late in updating the Paizo Blog with new images of the Lost Coast minis or the Skull and Shackles cards!!!

Roll again, take a plane +3, and push the big red blog-update button !

:-)

Just kidding, hope you get a plane soon.

Hey, one of you gets to meet the person you're going to marry, right? That's what happened the last time the Paizo crew was stuck in Indianapolis after GenCon.

Sadly I did not go to Gencon this year...one day...but not yet.

I was just blaming Cosmo for them.

And when I do finally get to go to Gewncon I am going to bring my Feather Token( Boeing 747) with me.

Those of us on the afternoon flight to DC had the same problem. Many people missed another day. I got back at 2 am through a miracle.

Does Scotty's have a special Monday After GenCon die?

Did everyone have plane issues going to and from GenCon This year?

We did, but everybody that could cast it without a Use Magic Device check were on an earlier flight. But I hear somebody arranged for a mass expeditious retreat casting...

That's too bad. Getting back to Seattle yesterday from Gen Con was a challenge for lots of people. Flight to Chicago was delayed over an hour and a half, and at least 20 people on it were missing connecting flights to Seattle because of it. I could have used that expeditious retreat running to the gate across terminals at O'Hare for the last flight to Seattle of the night.

Those people do not look happy at all. Could have at least broke out a game...

Last year leaving Gencon on I-69 out of Inty, traffic was stopped by a accident that blocked both lanes (no one was hurt). We ended up playing a game on someone else's car that was also leaving Gencon

Beware, good Paizonians, for there is a hungry cyclops standing and smirking behind you! Or perhaps that is a one-eyed bull man? My eyesight is not as goos it used to be...

Well, you are game developers. You don't really NEED to be at the office to do that. Time to start dropping some dice and doing some playtesting at the airport and/or hotel.

As it turned out, Sara Marie and Bulmahn combined their powers and managed to summon an empty plane from Chicago to Indy to fetch us.

I'm not actually making this up. The flight attendant was like, "Wow, we were scheduled to go somewhere else, but we got the plane unloaded and they told us to take the empty plane to Indianapolis."

Do not mess with Dire Care Bears or Bull Men.

This is true. No force on earth (or in the air) could stop this unholy union.

Oh, so did you get upgrades to first class?

Project Manager

Nah, it was one of those tiny regional planes (it was only a 40 minute flight -- we reached our cruising altitude and immediately began to descend), so it didn't have a first class section.

Jason did get Economy+ on the second leg though.

My suggestion that we take the train back instead and spend the next several days hanging out in the dining car, playing the games we bought at Gen Con and solving the inevitable murder mystery was not met with much approval. :(

Perhaps it might have had you indicated that Cosmo be the victim. ;-)

I think we all liked the idea in theory (or the road trip in a giant van with an online map and a donation link to bid for us to stop at local gamestores and play games along the way), but the length of the trip was just going to be too long.

I hold the hope of Train Con in my heart. SOMEDAY THIS WILL BE A THING.

People are just afraid of the train getting attacked by random wandering bodybuilder guys.

I think the Know Direction people spoke of doing Train Con on the way to the Paizocon before last? Not sure if anything ever came of it.

I would Train Con so hard every year forever. I don't care if I'm the only person who shows up, it'd immediately be my favorite con.

This TrainCon concept intrigues me...

1st I thought it said "fight was canceled" which made everything confusing for a moment.
2nd train con sounds awesome. we should start working on that.
3rd a van ride with bids to play games sounds awesome. maybe a travelling dm service.

Train Con works better when you don't risk being stranded because of an oil sands train. :(

We really need an adventure in a AP volume were you are trying to solve a murder while on moving a train.

I hope you have more luck with that than the Bermuda Triangle WorldCon...that would have been so cool.

It ends up, Train Con is a logistical nightmare and super expensive.

Didn't some other game company do the Train Con thing a couple of years ago?

I know it's lame, but my Paizo personnel-fu is not very strong. Can we get a who's who on that picture?

Thanks!

From left to right: Mark Seifter, Brian Campell, Me, Jason Bulmahn, Logan Bonner, Patrick Renie, John Compton. Ryan Mackin is to John's left in the background chatting with some friends (that guy knows everyone).

Also stranded—I guess delayed is more accurate—were Sara Marie, Jessica Price, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, Mike Kenway, and Other Mark's significant other.

Ah, it is a pity but not surprising that Train Con is not practical. If it were not for its inherent flaws of inconvenient times, relatively high expense, fixed routes, and relatively low speed. Trains really would be one of the best ways to travel. The scenery is nice, you can get up and stretch your legs, and have a drink.

How about an ocean cruise con to play Skulls and Shackles? PirateCon anyone?

I had a similar idea since we drove to/from gencon but "SubcompactCon" just can't handle large crowds.

Yes, Buhlman's prayers to Lord Asmodeus were answered, and no wonder; he sacrificed three stuffed bears (that he stole from passing children), two large bags of candy (likewise) and a full set of Schneider's favorite childhood pajamas! To augment the effects of this unholy summoning ritual, Buhlman conducted it in the ladies' room, claiming to be "a bear-hating bearded lady from Sweden".

I swear, this is how it happened.
