Iron Gods Roll Call

I've been wanting to do the Iron Gods Adventure Path for a long time, but it's not all that easy to just roll out a campaign that makes significant use of mountains of items and armor and weapons and creatures and hazards that the game doesn't yet have rules for. I'm talking, of course, about lasers and robots and radiation and gravity suits and nuclear resonators and atom guns and neurocams and K-lances and heavy weapon harnesses and robojacks and thoracic nanite chambers and graviton generators and more. What are all those things? I'm afraid you'll all need to wait a few more months to find out.

But what you DON'T have to wait for is the list of Iron Gods Adventure Path titles and authors! Because here they are! Long time readers will note some new names, some familiar names, and at least one old name risen from the murky depths of the past!

  • Part 1: Fires of Creation, by Neil Spicer
  • Part 2: Lords of Rust, by Nicolas Logue
  • Part 3: The Choking Tower, by Ron Lundeen
  • Part 4: Valley of the Brain Collectors, by Mike Shel
  • Part 5: Palace of Fallen Stars, by Tim Hitchcock
  • Part 6: The Divinity Drive, by Crystal Fraiser

Oh. And here's a spaceship. (No... this isn't the Silver Mount. That one's a LOT bigger.)

For some reason I can't help but picture a Fallout 3 type setting.

"Valley of the Brain Collectors?" Shut up and take my money!

Ha! Yeah, I'm pretty proud of that title. It pretty much gets that reaction or a variant of it whenever I mention it to anyone. ;-)

I am incredibly happy Pathfinder is going on an expedition to the Barrier Peaks. Plenty of people do ho-hum ordinary adventures. Paizo raises the bar.

Really hoping to get a good collection of tech and monsters for this that I can port into some more Lovecraftian, spacefaring and other adventures. Too many fantasy-with-a-bit-of-sci-fi only gives a taste without giving you the tools you need to really explore the potential of mixed genres. Some kind of techno-mage that really gets fluffy, interesting rules and a range of spells that integrates the two elements thoroughly would also be nice.

My hopes are high, but my confidence in Paizo knows no bounds. If they're going to do it, they're going to do it right.

[speculation] could the 'mountain' of stuff mean a new big rulebook? A campaign setting/player companion seems a bit too small/focused for that [/speculation]

I can't say I have any interest in playing this, but the line-up is fairly impressive.

Calling it now, Part 3 will win the Obituary thread.

Lundeen's writing an AP adventure? Yousa all gonna die. ;)

Evidence: in 13 years of playing Pathfinder Society and a myriad of other Organized Play campaigns, I've only had my character die three times. All three of these incidents were in adventures written or co-written by Mr. Ron Lundeen.

All kidding aside, Ron is a fabulous writer, and a great guy. Congrats to him, and very much looking forward to seeing this AP!

What would robots and androids worship?

Would it be a simple belief that their superior technology is better than your superior magic, legitimating a violent invasion?

Also, don't call android clerics "heal bots" unless you're fine with them refusing to heal you.
