Enjoy the splendid weather! Taste the local flavor!* Meet new and interesting people!

Anyone who said Whitethrone isn't safe is just spreading some sort of propaganda. All are welcome in Whitethrone. Ice trolls, goblins, and winter wolves walk the streets and the White Witches make sure that everything runs smoothly. The only thing to be careful of are rabble-rousers and dissidents.**

Subscriber's shipments are on their way and before long GMs and players all over can eagerly dig into The Shackled Hut, the second volume of the Reign of Winter Adventure Path, for all their witch-fighting fun!

* On second thought, you should probably stick to your rations. You brought rations, right?
** PCs should disregard this. Instead, be careful being the rabble-rousers and dissidents. There's a world to save and we don't need any PCs dying on us.

Alright, let's get a story contest going:

How will Merisiel escape this situation?

The winner wins a favorite by me and possibly others.

I have to say how incredibly impressed I've been with the artwork in Paizo's products, especially the most recent ones. The artists who did the portrait and the street scene deserve medals.

Are those the Mirror Man?

Those are indeed mirror men.

Merisiel uses her Stand Up rogue talent to immediately spring to her feet. This takes the Mirror Man in front of her by surprise. She deploys a concealed dagger from her spring-loaded wrist sheath, and hits for maximum damage thanks to her Underhanded talent. Boom, dagger through the mirror.

She also wins initiative. She draws two daggers with the Quick Draw feat and throws them at at Mirror Man #2, who is still flat-footed. Thanks to her Two-Weapon Fighting, they both hit for sneak attack damage. Down he goes.

Mirror Man 3 is still up. He charges at her, but she nimbly dodges his sword stroke. Then on Round 2, she uses a dirty trick combat maneuver to breathe in its mirrored face, clouding up the glass and temporarily blinding it long enough for her to disappear down a side street.

Well done Trinite! Let's hope all that works, because the clock is ticking....

I agree Mike. Sarah, Andrew, Crystal, and their artists have been doing phenomenal work. So pleased!

Clearly, the Mirror Man out of the frame is actually Reiko in disguise. Coming up next: Sneak Attack Sandwich!

I absolutely adore the mirror men/Merisiel illustration!

Scarab Sages

She looks so forlorn... I want to give her a hug.

I concur. I need to give a special shout out to Rainville. He has been kicking butt, seriously.

I must admit, the mirror men are quite discomforting. Good work!

Shadow Lodge

Merisel looks like someone just stole her puppy... Though stabbed may be more likely.

I'd say by rolling a natural 20 on her escape artist roll? :P

Obviously, she gets between two of the mirror men, so there are suddenly an infinite number of Merisiels reflected. Outnumbered so badly, the Mirror Men flee.

Sczarni

Merisiel's expression comes from realizing that long pointed ears are *not* an advantage in subzero temperatures.

Seriously, that is an amazing piece of art.

Hmmm so the mirror men are just humans with the heads of mirrors?

Do they live inside mirrors or is their head all that gets them their name?

What kind of mirror-powers do they have other than those heads in the form of mirrors?

I dunno who Jason Rainville is, but he just got my vote to be included in as much Paizo products as he can manage.

nope, constructs, think soulbound dolls.

And their power listing would be spoilerific.

I KNOW!!

This just maybe the most beautifully put together AP I've seen. Not just the amazing art itself, but everything about how this one has been put together so far just....pops! for me. :)

Yeah, my favourite prior to this was Legacy of Fire, which, with the exception of Kevin Yan's characters all having the same face, was top-notch - but the stuff I've seen so far for this beats even that.

Liberty's Edge

Clearly, it's a Silent Image of Merisiel intended to lure the mirrormen into an ambush set by Lem, who will cast Shatter when they close in for the kill. Lem is off-panel, cleverly disguised as a platter of roast ptarmigan with all the trimmings.

Hidden thunderstone, invoking N*7 years of bad luck where N = number of assailants.

These really are some very well done pieces. But man, that is possibly the most hopeless expression on any of the iconics yet. Irrisen is grim.

Ezran is hiding in the background with magic missile readied, and accepting that he already has lots of bad luck

The clock is ticking, eh? You aren't perhaps making a reference to a certain girl in the fireplace, by chance...?
