We're still a couple of months out from the release of Pathfinder RPG: NPC Codex, but all of the awesome art in that book refuses to be contained! Check out a sampling of 10 fantastically deadly characters by 10 fantastically talented artists. Also, be sure to watch this space in the coming weeks for in-depth previews of Pathfinder RPG: NPC Codex—releasing this December.
Saw it on DeviantArt first. Kind of makes this blog entry kinda lackluster.
Really?
I downloaded it the first time I came across it, so I had access to some of the file info. I tried finding it on DeviantArt again for you using said info, but couldn't find anything. I then checked some other picture files I had downloaded which followed the same file naming convention.
It was then that I realized they were all from Facebook.
So no. I was mistaken. I first encountered it on the Paizo Facebook feed, then later saw it on the actual site blog.

Curse my poor memory!
My "Really" wasn't a comment on being surprised that the art we chose to preview had already appeared elsewhere... but that you felt the need to call the blog entry "kinda lackluster."

It amazes me how things can get so mixed up. Here I thought I was doing you guys a favor by letting you know you had an over-eager artist or some form of company leak. Instead, I've offended you.
In of itself the blog is not lackluster at all. It's just that it's about art--art which would have had greater impact if I hadn't already seen it.
The consistency between the various artists is rather remarkable here. (And with that of Wayne Reynolds, I might add). Really lends a strong sense of product identity.
I've been scouring my books this evening looking for a level 3 or 4 wizard. (I will be using the Ezren statblock that appears in the back of Racing to Ruin.)
There actually aren't very many wizard statblocks in the GameMastery Guide NPC Gallery. Looking forward to more arcanists in NPC Codex.
I hope you guys decide to do a second one eventually with more of the races from Advanced Race Guide and all of the base classes.
Speaking of DeviantArt, is there any Paizo's group page on that site with the entries of all DA-signed artists who have done commissions for Pathfinder?
That half-orc looks awesome. All of the others look awesome too. I just can't say no to a woman with a giant axe and that sort of look.
Beyond that though, if you guys ever do an NPC Codex 2 (doubly so if it include races like fetchlings, tieflings, aasimar etc) I -totally- want to work on that! Dibs! Totally want to call dibs!
