The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game™ from Paizo Publishing is one of the world’s best-selling fantasy roleplaying games, in the true spirit of the classic dungeon crawl. Now Steve Jackson Games is proud to announce that Pathfinder is getting the full Munchkintreatment in a brand new core set...combining the unique features of the Pathfinder setting with Munchkin's irreverent sense of humor.
"We’re honored to be working with Paizo on Munchkin Pathfinder," said Andrew Hackard, Munchkin Brand Manager for Steve Jackson Games. "Pathfinder is a wonderfully rich world to play in."
Steve had no direct comment, as he was snickering and rubbing his hands together in contemplation of parodying TWO of the most popular fantasy roleplaying games of all time.
"We all love Munchkin here at Paizo Publishing, so this is a match was a no brainer," Lisa Stevens, CEO of Paizo Publishing stated matter of factly. "But of course," she whispered conspiratorially, "I really just wanted to see John Kovalic draw our iconic sorceress, Seoni!"
Munchkin Pathfinder will be a 168-card set, designed by Steve Jackson and Andrew Hackard and illustrated by John Kovalic. It will be playable as a standalone game or with any other Munchkin set. Look for it in stores in Fall 2013.
"True spirit of a classic dungeon crawl?" but but but I thought this is a deep, storytelling experience where we get to act out our inner fears and hopes vis a vis a changing landscape of vivid emotions *faints*

Fall 2013? It takes 12 months to make a Munchkin expansion?
Playtesting new rules (every Munchkin Set has them), designing art, card layout for almost 170 cards, layout for the box, printing everything ... yeah, it probably takes a lot of time! :)
I hope this is just one of many products produced which involve both companies. I'd love to see some of the Pathfinder adventures converted into GURPS rules. I know that's a long shot, but a boy can dream, right? I'm a fan of both companies, and I'd like to see what else could come from the two agreeing on a product which involves both of them.
@Kvantum: SJ Games is currently working on several other projects as well. There are a few new varieties of Munchkin being worked on; the new edition of Ogre, GURPS Discworld, and a few others.
Great! combo! I love Munchkin & Pathfinder, I hope will see Kovalic art of the card game very soon. (Please DONT use the ilustrador of Chulthu 3 please)
I've been considering buying a Munchkin game for a few years, but couldn't decide which set. (I'm cheap* so likely only one unless I get to play it a bunch.) Guess that decision is made!
*Yeah, like anyone is going to believe "I'm cheap" with my subscriber tags.
As much as I would love to see the Pathfinder iconics on those little cards, I would also really love to see the other Paizo Iconics like Ross Beyers, James Jacobs, Sean K Reynolds, etc. How cool would it be to shut someone down with a Sara Marie or Customer Carebear card!

Aside from the base game, Ive hesitantly branched out to Cthulhu and Conan. I love them both, so I'll certainly give Munchkin Pathfinder a try when it comes out!

Another reason it might be taking until Fall 2013 is I believe they are going to be putting out a Cars Wars release through kickstarter and they are wrapping up Ogre 6th edition right now from kickstarter.
